Nice server, nice food. I wish they have more lighting though. And more tables but rotation is pretty good. They’re trying to be kids friendly. They may want consult moms what they need, such as a kids stool in the bathroom to pee and changing table.

Great atmosphere, great staff and amazing food. 10⁄10 would recommend to everyone in the area. The French frys with ranch are the best in King county.

BRUNCH: 5 stars! SANDWICHES: 4 stars! Look, if you go here thinking it’s a great restaurant, you may be disappointed. But if you go here thinking it’s a pretty chill bar/pub that welcomes families and also happens to have some pretty great food(especially for BRUNCH!), then you’ll likely be quite happy. Their soups are quite good. As are their french fries. My tender vegetarian heart is warmed again and again by the numerous ways Smarty Pants makes me feel welcome with delicious field roast offerings on sandwiches and brunch options. And vegetarians: not only do they have veggie sausage but they have VEGGIEGRAVY. Oh yes. They charge too much for it, but you get a lot, and sometimes, you just need some gravy.

We went tonight and service was way better but it still took FOREVER to get our check and THEN get someone to come grab it and process the payment. Once again, I had to walk up the payment. But the service was better AND, they brought my kids’ food FIRST(I give high marks for this every single time — it’s a classy move). Still no crayons or coloring pages but we brought some things for them to do.

Trouble maker sandwich is off the chain. We have always had excellent service there. They have a great happy hour from 4pm-7pm. Good place to watch sports and get a drink and dinner after work. The patio is very spacious! Cornhole is available if it’s not too busy.

STRONG drinks. I am definitely going to have to check this spot out for bfast on the weekends. The Miss Piggy is amazing… crazy good. The meatball sub is ok, not crazy good but good. The staff is on it, super helpful and cool. Prices are good and it definitely has the biker vibe. A vary different feel than the Georgetown location but it’s awesome being able to get this delicious sammy closer to home.

I am loving this new place. The drinks are spot on the bartender is friendly the music is good the bathrooms are clean with stall doors that open out not in if you know what I mean. The food was great and happy hour goes from 4 to 7PM. I tried the tank slapper drink it was a fabulous spicy sweet salty margarita and the red housewine is only $ 6 a glass or $ 4 during happy hour. I definitely will go back to this new cool joint, hidden in the back parking lot by Grand Central bakery. A must for South Seattle visitors.

Great staff and tasty food. My buddy and I brought our kids in here after a day at the park, and if you know kids, that can be a bit dodgy. We were able to get a table in the back and the staff was very accommodating with our rambunctious toddlers, even when my son spilled his water all over the place and my buddy’s son kept yelling like a banshee. Seriously it was a classic«probably should have headed home after the park for naps, but I want to chill with a beer like an adult for once» scenario, but the Smarty Pants crew(and the other patrons — sorry) handled it like champs. And like I said, the food was tasty and the kids pancakes got gobbled-up. Bottom-line, I’ve always liked the Georgetown Smarty’s, and I’m extremely happy the Burien location is great too. I’ll be back for sure.

This a very busy place on a Friday night though you can still be seated in 5 – 10 mins. Sandwiches are outstanding; Ms Piggy and Pitboss to be exact. And you should order a side of the trouble sauce, so bomb! I love the vibe and how friendly the staff are. We would definitely go back. They have enough parking, the only thing though is finding the building unless you’re familiar with it, it’s behind that bakery.

Love the building and what they’ve done to the space! Parking accommodations are waaaaay better than their Georgetown location. I think their menu is a little smaller than their Georgetown location but their service is a little better because they’re still new to the area. I’m pretty indifferent about the place. Troublemaker and miss piggy sammiches are bomb dot com though. Check it out people!

I’m so disappointed by this potential nugget. The décor and location are great. There’s enough indoor seating for small and large-ish groups. I love the windows that open and bring the outside in. But… that’s about it. I went on a Thursday night around 6pm and it was starting to get crowded. This place is UNDERSTAFFED. They had 2 waiters and one busser with one person operating the back of the house. ONEPERSON. I ordered«homemade chips and salsa.» I’m fairly certain I got chips from a bag(you know, those baked tortilla chips that are all the same shape) and pico de gallo from a package. It was awful. AWFUL.. .And it took them 25 minutes to get it to me. The waiter was incredibly apologetic. Next, we ordered our food. It took another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The food itself was not bad. I had the slider from the happy hour menu and while fairly small, they were pretty good. I’m so disappointed in how long it took to deliver the food. Bottom line. Get more staff and think through all your food offerings and not just some of them.

Super excited to have a rad place like this in town! The vibe inside is super cool, the food is tasty. It’s great to have a good sandwich in the neighborhood that isn’t from Subway.(RIP Hey Paisan). I didn’t have any customer service horror stories. I felt like my friend and I were a little rushed but nothing over the top rude. I’ll go here a few more times and update my review.

Do not order Flipper, the tuna melt. Gave me a mild case of food poisoning. I wish I’d read Brendan’s review about it coming out«lukewarm.» It tasted alright but made me violently ill in the middle of the night. I should’ve known better by the name of the sandwich: Flipper, who’s real life name was Kathy, committed suicide(see the Oscar winning documentary The Cove). After the agony I’ve gone through in the last 13 hours, I sympathize. :(

Since they opened I’ve been trying to find a reason to dislike this place. I’ve been in the restaurant industry for almost 6 years and this place runs a tight ship. In the three months or so they have been open I have seen the owner at least 50% of the time which is impressive! The service has been amazing! The staff was quick to make me feel like a regular and remembered my drink within the first two weeks. Amazing food selection. The menu knows what it is! And the food is on point. Comes out hot and quick. Most importantly my order is correct. The staff may be the only thing better than the food! Always smiling and friendly! They seem to love where they work. Which I feel is paramount! In conclusion. I can’t find a reason to hate the place. The early Sunday closing time is a bummer but I probably should be getting ready for my week anyway!

Burien, I believe is/was very excited to have the new Smarty Pants in our booming downtown core. They’ve done an incredible job with the place. Its sparsely designed aesthetic hits the sweet spot. The garage door windows and patio are fantastic and unique. The food and service at Smarty Pants is another story. I have eaten at SP4 – 5 times and not once have I walked away thinking I just had a «good» meal. Everything seems to come out of the kitchen lukewarm. I had a tuna melt and the bread wasn’t grilled toasty and the cheese wasn’t melted and the tuna was… lukewarm. Obviously this isn’t the place to go for great, fresh food(what no FRESHOJ for breakfast) but no one seems to be watching the kitchen. I had their Monte Christo sandwich today; again it wasn’t hot and the cheese wasn’t melted. I paid a $ 1.00 extra for a bowl of melon that was too hard to eat. The service is sporadic and not particularly friendly either. It always seems that I wait too long to be greeted at the table and have my order taken and there never seems to be much follow up. I’ve always loved Hudson and the food has always been really enjoyable and the staff on top of things. Why can’t the same owners seem to make the food work at Burien’s SP? Newness and nice atmosphere will only go so far. I am at the place where I don’t see much point in going to SP anymore(even though it’s less than a block from my condo) the food just isn’t very good or satisfying. I think SP desperately needs a good foodie/customer service manager to keep a eye on the kitchen and staff. Back to my great old Burien standby the 909 where I always can find good food and service.

Very cool atmosphere and awesome venue for team happy hours especially when weather is warm. Large back patio space and roll up windows. We tried the frito pie(small serving, mushy Fritos, too many jalapeños, chile lacks interesting flavors/spices). Also tried the chicken club(cheap white toast, cheap cheddar cheese, not into the guac spread, deli meat cold and flavorless). Came with potato salad, pretty decent. Overall, will go next door to the bakery for a sandwich and chili and here for brews! P. s., the Philly cheesesteak did look delicious one table over so will definitely have to give it a try next time.

Oh how I wish I could give a better review. We were so excited for Smarty Pants to open in our neighborhood as we like the Georgetown spot! 7 of us went in for happy hour the first week it opened. Pushed two tables together as the servers stood and watched us. No greeting, no help. We sat without anyone taking our order for 15 minutes or so. There was only a handful of other people there. Our drinks came 20 minutes later with one not coming at all. Food was greasy and cold. We decided to move our party elsewhere. There’s too many great restaurants in Burien with excellent service and food. Zero apology or accountability for lack of service. Hopefully they can iron out their kinks and step it up!

You won’t be disappointed. The atmosphere is terrific and the staff is outstanding. Food YUMMY! The homemade fries OMG. You gotta try them. In the short time they have been open I have been there for times.

Went to the Georgetown location for the 1st time last summer and loved it. Heard the owners were opening a Burien location and we couldn’t wait for it to open. In the 3+ weeks they’ve been in B-town, we’ve been in 3 times. Great beer selection, awesome Chicago-inspired food and friendly staff. We now have a new favorite spot in Burien. Go Smarty Pants Garage!

Smarty pants Georgetown has rocked my world for many years! Troublemaker sandwich by far is the best damned thing to chew on. I live in Burien and having my fave sammich so close to me is just dangerous. Dawn the manager is coolest person around. Please support your local businesses.
