The Maven Mercantile

Love the variety of options at Maven, including vegan items (my son has dairy and egg allergies). My son especially liked the spicy sweet potato and dairy-​free piña colada Popsicle, and strawberry basil Popsicle. I am super addicted to the peanut butter cookies; worth every workout just to get those cookies, so decadent!

Best cookies, brownies, and soups of all time. Seriously. Their dark chocolate chunk cookie is amazing!

I bought a quiche with mushrooms and asparagus in it and got sick immediately after eating it and had to take the day off work. I remember my friend saying something about how weird it was that her ham & cheese croissant was cold. My quiche definitely might have been sitting out at room temp for too long.
I also got a orzo/​shrimp salad and it was one of the worst dishes I’ve ever tasted. I’m not a picky eater at all I promise you. It’s such a cute place though and I would have come back to try other things if I didn’t get sick!

It is always such a treat to come to Maven! The food doesn’t disappoint, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the selection of gourmet goodies is perfect. This is the only place I have found in Burien that has such unique, high-​end goodies to delight foodies. I often purchase birthday gifts for friends here. Check it out… you won’t be disappointed! And if things are pretty busy at home, Maven has a weekly meal delivery service :).

Best gourmet, affordable and healthy food in Burien. Get your healthy food here. Add a chocolate cookie to balance it off. She also has spices, granola, sauces… everything u want to make a healthy meal. Breakfast sandwiches on Saturday morning melt in your mouth.

Decided to try something new and found this Deli type market. Really cute when you walk in and the smells coming out of the kitchen, which you can see through several wooden panels, were divine! The selection behind the glass display was very small. The few items that were there were very unique. We had the poblano stuffed with chorizo, an egg prosciutto muffin and a serving of creamy polenta. If you like cold food, you will love this place. I don’t particularly care for it, so it was okay. The food definitely did not reflect the yummy walk-​in smells! The reason for the 3 star rating is because there are no prices to be found anywhere. Everything is sold by the ounce, which I don’t mind if I know up front how much it is per ounce. The cashier was nice enough, but she clearly did not know how to weigh the plates before adding food, so it took her 6 attempts do weigh and charge 1 item. Luckily we were the only ones in the store.

Great place with clean eating/​gluten free/​paleo options !! I had the sweet potato and chicken salad. Delish! My daughter enjoyed their breakfast burrito. I am definitely coming again!

Oh oh oh. Wow wow wow. As my friend said IT’S A SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE. Each item is delicately crafted with unique flavors. I’m sorry I have to go back and finish my lunch. But had to write this ASAP

I stopped in today for a quick bite to eat. It was so delicious that I’m now a little sad that I am just now discovering this place.
I had the breakfast burrito, which sounds simple-​but I think I’ll be having dreams of this tonight.
Can’t wait to go back.

The menu changes weekly. You can stop at the location or have your scrumptious food delivered. The coffee and desserts are wonderful too. Very excited to learn that they will start Saturday Brunch! The best food in Burien!

Finally some well sourced, well made food in Burien. The menu changes but never disappoints. I’ve been dreaming about their chicken tikka masala. Today I got a lamb shank. It’s amazing.
And the lady that owns it is super duper nice and personable.

Maven fills a void in the Burien food scene. Ok, that «void» is basically my stomach. Maven is my favorite spot for cookies, brownies etc. Went in today and I was informed that ice cream sandwiches, made from these peerless aforementioned cookies, are on their way for summer. Believe me when I say, I will remember this information. For now, I request a chocolate chunk cookie. She attempts to remove the cookie from its jar, and well, its too big. Massive cookie is massive and won’t come out. I tease her for a bit and the cookie finally breaks and comes out. I reassure her that I am quite happy to devour a broken cookie. Waste not want not and all. She instead empties the cookie jar into a bag. Gives me all of them. Now I have 3 cookies. My brain stops working momentarily. Have I mentioned I like cookies? Now, I am quite sure that I am just soooooo special that I am the only one who gets piles of free cookies, but you won’t be disappointed with the ones for which you will undoubtedly have to pay full fare. If you mention this review, you will NOT get free cookies. Just to be clear. I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO GETS FREE COOKIES. Now go. Seriously tho. Really smart décor and selection at this place. Savory foods and granola as well. And a sweet canine companion to greet you slumbers at the door. Again… GO.

The Maven Mercantile is such a great addition to Burien! Finally some healthier quick options for when you’re hungry. Heidi’s deli selection and fresh soups are always delicious. She also recently catered one of my work events and it was the best food I’ve ever had at an event! Heidi is amazing to work with — friendly, prompt to respond, and super helpful. I’m so thankful to have them in Burien!
