Safeway

Called here tonight at about 7:40 to see what time the deli closed because I was craving chicken strips again. Not only was the lady still open till 9, she asked my name and what I wanted and she held onto a pound of strips for me.
She went above and beyond to make sure I got what I was looking for.
…oh! And they have yummy giant carrot cake slices too!

Oh shoot. im so disappint about the florist station. I bought 2 boquets of flowers, and 1 vase. 1 cashier lady ask me i wanna put the flower in the vase or not, it only charge me $ 1 or $ 2. I imagined that it will look very fancy, but no it is very simple step. She just put all my flowers in the vase. That is it. It is for real… sorry, if it likes that i I can do it at home also. And I have to pay for thar $ 3.15… wth…

I find this store to be very convenient and the prices and customer service is great, the only downside is the restrooms, never seems very clean. They are also getting more organic products and I appreciate that alot.

I get great service everytime I come to the store and they always have the products I need for any of my cooking needs. They even ordered some items I wanted in bulk

This store gives me crazy anxiety. The only way in or out is by stoplight, and so the parking lot gets dangerously full in waves. It’s unsafe for drivers and for people walking to their cars. Like a total maze of speed bumps, geometric isles of cars that are really annoying to drive around, and lines of cars waiting for the stoplight so they can get out of the parking lot.
Inside, it is just like any other location: a deli, bakery, pharmacy, etc.

This Safeway has very good representation of people of color. Employees are friendly and the store is clean. My only criticism is sometimes at night the isles are blocked with so much product that has not been put away.

The staff here is great! They are always helpful and most of them have a great attitude! I would recommend this Safeway to anyone in the area!

Today was the second time I’ve come home with groceries from the Burien Safeway only to discover that a package was opened and partially eaten. I’ve never had this happen at other grocery stores but perhaps it’s not that uncommon? The staff here are super friendly. This review is in no way a reflection upon them. My advice to everyone who shops here is to inspect your food closely before putting it in the cart.

This place gets an extra star because because as others have mentioned, the homeless problem is the fault of Burien PD, not Safeway. But the lack of service is a definite failure of management – it’s ridiculous that one should have to wait in long lines and deal with unsanitary and out of date products.
Sadly, this location is close to home, so I shop there more than I should, but convenience rules out when it’s a time factor. It loses rating for having rotten produce on the shelves, as well as rotten deli and meats. The bakery items are typically good, and the prices are decent as long as you use their club card, which I see as an invasion of privacy.
The service desk is abysmal – too many times I have stood in line with one cashier while other cashiers stood at their registers and chatted. The self service lines are a joke, and I usually have to get help from the cashier assigned to the area because the system is glitch filled.
It’s obvious that there is poor morale, and this is a management problem. Safeway needs to step it up.

This place is stragegically placed in the homeless people Mecca, next to the public bus terminal. Out of the 5 times I have shopped there I have been harassed by bums 3 times. I used to bike there because it is not far from my apartment but after seeing a bike lock still attached to a rear wheel (indicating the bike had been stolen) I choose to just go down the road to fred Mayer instead. I once asked an associate where the bathroom was and was told it required a managers key to unlock it because there have been problems with homeless people shooting up in there. If you are going to pay premium prices for groceries don’t walk through a shit field before you get there, would shop somewhere else.

The people here are friendly and the prices and deals are good. Thats why I choose to shop here. Yet I have noticed that sometimes their in store deals are not properly entered into registers and therefore I have to consistently check my receipt. That is annoying as I am usually with my small child and there are always long lines in front of and behind me so I don’t want to inconvenience myself or others. I have had to seek refunds several times to my dismay which I shouldn’t have to do. I like their «just for u» and card promotions and the app that accompanies it. I wish I didn’t have to check it and add discounts to my list every week to get the deals.

This is almost the worst Safeway/​Vons I have ever been to. (1^st being a vons in South Central L.A. u do the math) I dont understand why a company of this size does not employ security guards here. The Safeway on MLK/​rainier in Seattle does have security guards Why not this one? I get hassled for money from the most mean panhandlers i have ever came in contact with. Its DIRECTLY accross from a large transit center. I would say that 1 our of 4 times I go there is some kind of police activity in the parking lot. Funny how you keep seeing those same people in or around the store hanging out months afterwards. I live 2 measley blocks away and i chose to drive 15 to fred meyer.
The food selection is pretty bad also. But then… what do you expect for the savages purchasing… cough. cough stealing it.

This Safeway is on my way home from work at an easy on-​off exit so sometimes I stop here instead of the Fred Meyer at the next exit, which is more congested. It really ends up not being any kind of time saver though, because there are never enough checkers at the front to handle the number of customers, even at non-​busy times. Couple that with the fact that the self check-​out machines are really glitchy, even after you place your item in the bag it keeps telling you to put it in, then to take it out. I do really like Safeway’s Jalepeno/​Cheese bagels though so I will still shop here when I have a craving for them if I am not planning on going to a different Safeway.

Safeway you are my fav, but man, the lines at night are so lonnnnnnnnngggg. Please staff or cross train the stockers to do check outs. 12 people in 3 lanes is just too many, and then closing one stand, i understand she has to go, but crap, dont let those people wait for all that time, and be like, too bad, switch lanes, you should have apologized and said, her shift is over and she’s gotta pick up her kids at the sitters. this is not like you guys, step it up.

There’s that group of cashiers there that follow common sense and read your name on credit cards or you’re Safeway card and they call you by name and they ask EVERYONE if they need help out to your car… kudos to the service

This would definitely be the best grocery store that Burien has to offer. While, that’s not saying a whole lot it’s definitely great to have this store around. If only it had a gas station. Ehhh one can dream.

WOW. Worst… bathroom…ever!!!
Disclaimer: This review is only for the men’s restroom at this particular Safeway.
I came in at 7:30a on Saturday to get coffee at Starbucks. After placing the order, I decided to remove the stored coffee from the drive up from Portland.
I am pretty sure the men’s restroom had not been cleaned since the Nixon administration. This was not a simple case of some paper towels on the floor. This was black grease caked sinks, urinials which hadn’t cleaned in forever, rubbish can overflowing (at 7;30am remember) and the floor was a mess. The paper towel machine was open and appeared broken. I wasn’t going near the stall, but from afar it looked the aftermath of a ticker tape parade in NYC.
I did not look at the sign off sheet to see who claimed to have serviced the restroom last… if ever.
I believe Safeway to be a proud company and I will copy and paste this to whatever «feedback» area I can find on the corporate website.

My home grocery store, the best in burien, hands down.
Its not whole foods, but compared to the Albertsons on 128^th this is the Taj Mahal. I come here so often I know all the cashiers. Reasonable pricing, good selection, well stocked.
My wish list: Wider Craft Beer Selection.

An improved natural section would be great — one of the 2 shelf units is full of just water… Note: max cashback is $ 100… I haven’t checked other locations’ but I got me some Glutenfreeda oatmeal here, yum!
