Chicken shawarma here is out of this world. Been going here for years and will continue moving forward. The cheese pies and hummos are fantastic as well.

Oh my gosh! Super friendly and kind. The owner/worker is so patient and kind! I’m not familiar with Lebanese cuisine but the workers were eagered to help use out with our menu! Instead of trying the usual kababs, I had the Make Your Own Plate and my friend had the Mixed Grilled Platter. For my dish I had to choose 6 items from the display they have. The worker gave me samples and a nice short description of the ingredients so I can choose the 6 items to my liking! The dish was definitely different but I did end up eating everything. My friend’s dish consisted of grilled lamb, beef and chicken. The meat all had a distinct smell at the end but like me my friend ate all the meat and the rice, hummus, etc. another great experience with Cedars Café!

Went in one random night after strolling around Ross with my girlfriend a little after 8. The guy at the register was very friendly despite the fact that we went to dine in 40 minutes before closing time. He took the time to answer and explain our questions about the menu and the food was out rather quickly for a Mediterranean restaurant. The chicken kabob platter and the falafel kabob platter were both very delicious and filling. The platter comes with rice, chicken/falafel(well portioned), salad, and hummus/garlic sauce which is excellent with the chicken. We have returned here multiple times after the first experience and have had great experience each time. Great little find!

Went here in search of something different for lunch. I love Lebanese food and this place was pretty good, for a local spot. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich, the sandwich was small but tasty and the garlic sauce was good, just used sparingly. It’s wasn’t the best I’ve had but it was good. I also ordered their spinach and lintel soup which was awesome!!! 4 Stars for the Soup alone!

5 stars for flavor. 0 star for portion size and value. 2 for ordering(apparently my husband wanted beef, and they said they didn’t have any, but I had it in my order). The bread is paper thin. The salad is barely there. However, everything that was there is delicious! The garlicky yogurt is unlike anything I’ve tasted before in a good way, the hummus is flavorful, the bread is chewy, the meats were moist and cooked well. Really, I think I’m just disappointed there was such a small portion of salad. We had cut half of a tomato on our own to add to the salads and that pretty much tripled the salad.

Food pretty good. Portions small for the price and every time I’ve ordered carry out they messed up my order. I really want small/family owned businesses to succeed but they wore me out w all the carry out screw ups so I don’t go anymore

First of all this place is not on the low end of price. You get a small portion and have to double up in price. The food is okay. I’m guessing my standards might be a little higher than some people that indicated it tasted like the old country. Average is as high as you can go for this place.

The service is always great. I always buy the garlic purée to add when I make chicken salad! Today I dined in for the first time with my family and I ordered the chicken shawarma– it was good but the portion was small. The chicken was tender and juicy. They had pita chips on the side and they were exceptionally good but there were only 5⁄6 small chips on the plate. Overall, a pretty good experience at Cedar Café!

I tried this restaurant for the first time and was not that impressed with it. The food quality was ok, could have been better, the portions small for the price you pay, also taking in consideration other similar restaurants in the area. I may tried them again in the future.

Great, authentic food. I’ve never had a bad experience here, in spite of some of the other reviews. Customer service has always been great. I absolutely love the food here.

Here’s the skinny: 5 stars for food and 2 stars for customer service. Food: great variety of authentic dishes, expertly seasoned and plated very attractively. My favorite is the chicken kebab platter. Salad is crisp and fresh, rice is fluffy, chicken portion is generous(2 large skewers, deliciously seasoned) hummus is on pointe and the garlic purée is sublime! Fresh pita to accompany the plate as well. Other yummy treats are the spinach pies and cheese pies. There’s a glass case filled with fresh and tasty salads, and I’ve not been disappointed with a single one.(Homemade?) desserts too, mostly pistachio and walnut pastries that are soaked or sweetened with honey. Also, great selection of prepackaged Turkish Delights(traditional and rose water) as well as dare filled cookies. It’s a great local place and small business that I enjoy to support and I’d wholeheartedly recommend if but for the lackluster Customer Service: 2 thumbs down. It’s disappointing. I’ve been there many times for take out and a few times for«dine in». I’m sorry to say that the same tall young man(chef? owners son?) consistently acts preoccupied-as if he is doing you a favor… rather than showing friendliness and gratitude to the patrons who choose to shop and dine at Cedar Café. When he works the front counter, you feel rushed. He does not make eye contact, smile or offer any helpful suggestions. When another(usually a young woman) runs the front counter, he can be found sitting in the corner near the kitchen very busy with his cell phone– even when the customer line is 4 – 5 deep. I suppose at some point I will stop patronizing because the customer service deficiencies will outweigh my love of the food and other products, but until it does I enjoy grabbing takeout from this place.

The cedar café is good but the décor lacked the Middle Eastern influence that I am used to in the restaurants. The chicken shwarma was very good but I would prefer that they have the chicken taouk which they seemed to be unaware of. I also wouldn’t have minded hearing some Middle Eastern music to liven up the place. All in all a good place, but just not great like I wanted it to be.

We moved to the area about a year and a half ago, and have been searching for local non-chain spots. I’m so glad we stumbled across this place! Excellent Lebanese food! Previous reviews complained about employees, but our experience was the opposite. The family and employees were very nice. This is a new favorite.

I stopped in for lunch on a whim. I ordered the Lamb Kabob sandwich platter. The rice was a nice touch from fries and it came with a small salad. The Lamb was pretty good even though one piece was a bit tough. The prices are a bit high but bearable. This was first experience with Lebanese food so I have no other restaurant to compare it with. Overall not too bad. I did meet the owner who was very nice to speak with. Would I come back? Possibly to try out other items.

Unimpressed with the food. Paid $ 11.95 for each of three dishes that came out like this… Next time I’ll just drive to the good«Flame Kabob» at 6328 Springfield Blvd, Springfield, VA22150.

Wow, the food here is terrific, the chicken and lamb kabob are amazing. I’d eat here every day if could afford to. As a lover of Lebanese food, I’m a tough person to impress and they do every time!!!

The food is good at Cedar Café, and the location is very convenient for me. However, I find it to be pricey, especially given the portion sizes. Also, the wait for the food preparation is abnormally long sometimes. For these reasons, I don’t order from Cedar Café as often as I’d like.
