Met Jojo of Binka Bites this morning at the Burlingame Farmers Market, and I just had to try an «Americanized» version of our beloved Bibinka. Dang masarap! Hahaha. Get passed that this is not your classic bibinka, and meant to introduce non-Filipinos to our foods, and you have a winner winner chicken dinner! We had the classic, Ube with jackfruit, ube with macapuno and they were all darn good. Not sure about the chocolate, and might recommend to forgo that one. In any case, looking forward to their new site in South City. Cool use of the name btw…

Arrived at the farmers market in Burlingame very late as they were packing up. All that were left were vanilla cupcakes with dark chocolate chips. Obviously they must be pretty good if they were almost sold out! I was full after lunch and saved these delicious morsels till I arrived home in the evening. Omgosh so perfectly moist cake and the cream cheese topping was to die for! My son and I thoroughly enjoyed! I will be back!

Binka Bites is the sole reason why a female like me needs to work out every day! I have been dreaming about Binka Bites since I left the College of San Mateo Farmers Market on Saturday! OMG I can’t believe they are THAT good! I first approached the vender and the look of the many variety of desserts was definitely what caught my eyes. I first walked up to the stand and was like, «Binka what?» Not having any idea what I was in store for. Binka Bites makes these moist, delicious, cupcake-sized baked coconut rice tropical pastries which were inspired by Philippine bibingka. Pricing seemed a little pricey to me and I didn’t know how they tasted so I went back and forth in my head trying to decide which flavor I should get since I told myself I was only going to get 1… Yes. ONLY1! PRICES: Signature Flavors: ~1 Piece– $ 3 ~4 pieces– $ 10 ~Half a dozen– $ 15 ~Dozen-$ 29 They had many varieties of flavors that day: ~Classic– Cheese, salted Egg, best seller ~Choco PB– comes with Peanut butter filled ~Half Dipped– Dipped in Velvety Chocolate ~Nutella Stuffed-Hazelnut and Cocoa spread filled ~Boston Cream-Topped with Vanilla Cream ~Binka Cream-Topped with heavenly Cream Cheese frosting OMG! Just writing all these flavors is making my mouth water in pleasure. I bought the Boston Cream since I LOVE vanilla and I waited till I got home to fulfill my excitement in having one of these moist cupcakes just melt right in my mouth… and once it did. I was going crazy in excitement and wanted to get back in my car and race back for some more! Not only did it melt in my mouth… it melted my heart, mind and soul and I have been feen’in more since they day I bought one! I will definitely be back to one of their locations. I hope they get a store so I can be buried right in the back of the shop in Binka heaven! Do you want Binka Bites now? So I was walking around the farmer’s market today and the guys at the stand called me over and gave me samples of their bibingka. Delicious! They got me… I tried the peanut butter and jam and classic bibingka. Their cakes were so moist, cupcake-sized and they have a variety of flavors to choose from. Bibingka is a Filipino spongy cake made from rice or rice flour. They add so much to their take on bibingka with their variety of flavors. You can order online or go to then local farmer’s markets. SAT: Millbrae, on Broadway Ave. SUN: Burlingame, on Park Rd. Check them out.
