Worst haircut ever. I agreed to «long layers» but ended up with a hideous 90’s Mom cut with half my hair one length and the other half of my hair six inches longer. I’ll be wearing ponytails for the next 6 months, and even the ponytail looks horrible.

Only have experience with men’s hair here. Johnny is amazing, knew exactly what I wanted and took his time to make it perfect. Been going back each time for almost a year now. Haircut is a little expensive but it is well worth what you pay for.

I am so thankful to have found Rana at Fringe Salon 4 years ago. Her knowledge about coloring cutting and styling is amazing. After my first visit I had people comment on how good my hair looked … made me think It must have looked awful before Rana transformed it. I have never considered going anywhere else.
I usually book my appointments out a few months, but on occasions when I’ve needed to get in last minute she is always flexible with her schedule and fits me in. Rana has done coloring, highlights, haircuts and Keratin treatments on my hair and I have never been unhappy. The salon is clean and everyone is friendly.
In regard to reviews about cut or color issues with clients — my experience with Rana is that she is honest and forthcoming — if she thinks a color or style won’t work, she is comfortable telling you and offering suggestions for a better outcome. Unfortunately some people have their mind set even knowing the outcome will be questionable. I appreciate Rana’s honesty and trust her to take care of my hair and have no issues referring friends to Fringe.

I decided to take better care of my hair… and what a great decision that was. My hair was dry and unhealthy looking. The color was too bright. I started seeing Haley at Fringe about 5 months ago. Now my hair color looks great and very natural… I let Haley decide what would work… and she worked magic. Her cuts are so well done. I go longer without needing a cut because it stays looking good longer. I highly recommend her.

I’ve seen Johnny for both haircuts and color several times now over the past year. He definitely lives up to the stellar reviews. I always walk out happy with the finished results. In addition, I get so many compliments on my hair now from random people — which is an awesome feeling. The haircuts he gives me always grow out nicely too. Soooo glad I found this place!

The first time I saw Victoria she guessed that people usually cut my hair in softer layers, which was right. So instead she goes and does these piece-​y, more blunt layers, which is perfect for my fine hair. Seriously, it was a subtle but magical difference! Most recently, I went in for a long overdue cut and she was amazing as usual. I always have a hard time explaining what I want, but Victoria really listened and gave my hair the shape and TLC it desperately needed. She even helped style my hair for a party I was going to later :) Her patience is so wonderful to have in a hairdresser. (Brownie points for good conversation but also letting me just relax when need be.)

Courtney is amazing! Courtney kept it cute when I wore it short and has recently helped keep it tame as it grew long and recently taught me to love my waves. She’s cut and styled it so that it looks great wether I embrace my curls or wear it straight. She listens and gives great feedback with styling tips and options for my hair type.

Rana is a hair goddess and Fringe is a wonderful salon with a great, talented team. Rana has been doing my hair since I moved to California 3 years ago. I won’t even consider going anywhere else.
I have combination black and white hair (i.e crazy curl, but not a cute crazy curl) and keratin has been my savior. Rana does amazing things with my stubborn hair. I walk in with a picture or a just list of adjectives (fashion forward, reddish tint, edgy.) and Rana delivers every time. I always appreciate that she takes the time to walk me through the different ways I can wear my hair. I always leave with amazing results and I am ridiculously picky about my hair. I’m an executive, but I don’t want boring executive hair.
Rana is simply the best. Thank you, Rana! Thank you, Fringe!

Love this place they continue to make me look and feel fabulous every time I come in. I’ve gotten my hair done with both rana and johnny and they are both amazing I tell all my friends to come here and would recommend it to anyone one looking for a great new look!

I just recently moved to the area and chose Fringe Salon because it is an Aveda Salon. I went in with a picture of what I wanted and came out with something completely different and not at all what I asked for. I wanted a dark red haircolor with blonde ombré. And I came out strawberry blonde. I specifically said I did not want to be strawberry blonde. And the guy knew I was not happy with the finished product and he still charged me full price, which was almost $ 400!!! For that I should have gotten exactly what I asked for and I should be ecstatic and I’m not. The color he did is not terrible, but is most definitely not what I asked for. I am torn on what to do and whether to ask them to redo it. And the guy was so rough on my head pulling and tugging and making my hair all knotted up. It hurt! For $ 400 I should not be this unhappy. I plan on calling them when they open back up and discussing my situation, but for now I’m just extremely unhappy with my experience here. I feel like he chose what he thought was best for me instead of me choosing for myself, which would have been fine if he knew me well enough to know what I would like, but he didn’t. And he didn’t spend any time before the appointment really discussing my options or what I wanted. There was no real consultation at all. How can you know what your clients want if you don’t talk to them?

Got my hair dyed twice at this salon by Laly, first purple then black both time I came to the salon she was extremely professional, offered me complimentary water and took the time to listen to exactly what I needed! She got it to the exact color I wanted I just had a picture of the look I was trying to go for and she made it happen, I was soo happy with the end result! I will certainly be coming back to get my hair colored again! Very professional, clean and cute salon

Johnny has been my family’s hair dresser for as long as I can remember. From my grandmother to mother, who both pride/​d themselves on their hair, to myself, we have followed Johnny and his talent. He is the only person I trust with my curly hair and the only person who my mother trusts with her trendy bob. In dire need I’ve had to go elsewhere and regretted it greatly. The staff is very friendly and the products are all aveda– the only thing that touches my hair! Fringe has a loyal clientele because they earn it.

I went to Fringe for the first time today and was really pleased with my experience. Carolyn is a great stylist. She listened to exactly what I was looking for and made it happen. I’m looking forward to my next appointment with her!

Johnny is the best! He is crazy fast, and gets how to style my hair (it sounds ridiculous but a lot of people can’t cut straight hair properly… I never get the «ends flipping in & out» experience that plagues most other salons). The staff is nice and I couldn’t ask more of this great salon. I’m so happy I found them!

Here are some super nice people, and are very into making you look and feel your best. They do not just use you for business flow and money, they care and love to know you as a person. They are amazing at what they do, best salon I have been to… and I have been to A LOT.

I have been going to Carolyn for over a year and she is the best — so sweet and always makes my hair dreams a reality. I like switching up my hair a lot and she listens to my ideas, makes suggestions and I always leave feeling like a million bucks. The scalp massage is a bonus and takes all my worries away.
I like coming in on Sunday so I can park for free! My husband gets his haircuts from her as well and they rock. Love that they don’t just use clippers but treat men like their hair is a work of art too. He always looks good leaving the salon.

Street parking — meters are 2 hours long. There’s also residential parking if you have time to look for it.
Service — called in around 12pm to make an appointment and actually got to come in today. Usually good salon are booked out for a few days. I came here because a friend gave me a certifercate so I figured I will just go in for a trim and nothing else. I truly do not like others touching my hair because my hair is hard to manage. I still love and will Alway’s go to Cindy at salon mia bella. A trim is not hard to do. I specifically said no more than an inch. Tell me why I ended up with 3 – 4 inches chopped off. Ugh! Don’t get me wrong, the hair style looks good on me but it just take me years to grow that much. So I was upset. Than again it was free and I just paid tip. That’s why I put two stars. One — free and two — hair cut didn’t look so bad although hair stylist did not listen to me.
This is an old review. Catching up with my drafts. It’s been 2 years I believe. Yes, that long. Opps… I’ve been busy and this place wasn’t worth my time.

I’ve been going here for years and they are very friendly and definitely listen to what you want done. I almost always see Johnny and since I’ve moved to NYC a year ago I make a point to get a haircut with him when I go home to CA because I have a hard time trusting anyone else with my hair. Added bonus, they’re an Aveda salon so you know all the products they use are safe for your hair. I’ve only given them four stars because it is pricey, I’m guessing because rent downtown is so expensive. If it wasn’t so expensive I’d get my hair cut and colored more often. Experience though, talent, and service is definitely five stars!

Since I have moved to Burlingame for a few years, I have had a hard time finding a great stylist and colorist who could actually answer what I was looking for.
Johnny is amazing!!! The best hair stylist and colorist in Burlingame and Peninsula.
He did an amazing job with highlights on my dark brown hair that looks sun kissed and natural. He also did a fantastic haircut every time when I came in.
I completely trust his opinions with my hair.

With busy schedules that day I had a no appointment with Fringe Salon, but I took a chance called him in the morning, said that if I can come in at 3pm to get my hair made over for the event? He called right back withthin minutes to confirm.
I couldn’t be happier with the looked for that special night’s event. THANK YOU! so much!!!

The colors they use in this salon are safe for hair. My hair is always shiny, healthy and I feel very stylish… thats why I always go there! :)
