First time trying this place. I’ve always been the basic America breakfast type; sausages, ham, hashbrown, pancakes, waffles, and toast. But I wanted to try something new so I opt for a smoke salmon Benedict. The dish itself looked good and the salmon was flavorful and tasty but I felt like there was too much bread underneath and the dish was a too much. The egg was a little on the cooked side and the yolk didn’t ooze out when I popped the egg. :| The bf ordered a dish called biscuits and gravy with 2 sausages. He said it was just okay also. Service wise, our waitress was welcoming nice.

My usual breakfast spot on the weekend where there are no crowds or waited line around 7 spot. Service was very excellent and recommended what is most popular entrees and making sure we’re Ok and needed refill for my drink. I’ve eaten most of the breakfast meal but I highly recommend the Italian Omelette with home fries, where there is more meat and veggies. But if you want something simple, Canadian bacon and eggs with home fries and pancake on the side, now that will hit the spot. Food and service are fantastic. And the price are pretty good too for a coffee shop-like diner. Check em out!

Neal’s is your typical old school suburban diner tucked away in a strip mall. The clientele is on the older side, too. You know how Unilocal has those virtual badge things… 20-somethings go crazy for this place… vegetarians like this, ect. If this place had a badge it would be something like, «Seniors just can’t get enough of this place!» I was easily the youngest person there by a three decades. Seniors are good diners if you like things quiet. I am hard of hearing so noise level is often a thing for me. I’m totally fine here even with just bare minimal speechreading. There’s a discounted seniors and a kid’s menu in case you’re curious. The place is pretty clean but there are a couple surfaces that could use a wipe down… not a big deal really.(I could see lots of crumbs on the serving counter even parts that clearly weren’t being utelized). Plain décor minus a lot of SF Giants kitsch on one side and waterfall stock photos for decoration. I wouldn’t have normally noticed crumbs on surfaces but from where I sat at the counter it was either stare at that or a box of Peerless coffee. My server was Norma. I know this not because she wore a name tag(she didn’t) but because everyone else tipped her and made a point of saying goodbye to her before they left. She was fast and courteous and mostly just left my introverted self alone. Food here is typical American breakfast fair plus some sandwich options for lunch. Pretty much anything on the menu can be orded as a side as well. I got the 2 eggs breakfast with scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes and a side of fresh fruit. I order scambled eggs in part because they’re easy and most diners can make them well. However, my eggs were not cooked enough… I don’t like my scrambled eggs runny inside. Fruit was fresh-ish but had seen better days.(Maybe yesterday?) The side of fruit was also too expensive for what it was. Pancakes were good… Maybe I should have just gotten pancakes? My bill was roughly $ 14 after tipping Norma at about $ 18%. Not the cheapest, not the worst. I would feel better about this place if the bland carb-rich food included fully cooked eggs and less sad and/or overpriced fruit. It was okay. Really, 3.5 but when my bill is over 10 and the only protien in it(scrambled eggs) are runny I round down rather than up.

I am not into diners but this is one of those classics you cannot resist to enter and get that so American look & feel… plus the comfort tasty food. Is like a Denny’s just much more local, although you get the same huge amount of potatoes, sausages, pancakes and doses and doses of non so healthy food… well, that is why is called ‘comfort food’! Place gets too crowded, so not expect extra space.

Neal’s is an old fashioned diner that’s hard to find nowadays. Service is great. Employees are super friendly. The menu is overwhelmingly vast and long. I ordered the thick bacon breakfast with 4 really hearty, thick and perfectly cooked bacon with scrambled eggs, home fries and a crêpe with lingonberry butter. Portions are large and very filling. If you love bacon, well this is the real deal. The home fries were tender and seasoned well. The crêpe melts in your mouth and the lingonberry butter is a nice touch. I had a pleasant experience here, but it is probably not the best food to eat everyday.

While having a lazy day the wife and I decided to hit up Door Dash. After browsing we decided that we wanted breakfast. I ordered the two eggs meal and the wife ordered corned beef hash. The price was actually pretty good and when the food was delivered it wasn’t that bad. That being said one day we’ll have to go in and give the food a go.

Worst customer service EVER! As I was getting ready to pay, the waitress slams my credit card on the counter, like she was annoyed that I wanted to pay. I might as well should have walked out but the better part of me told me otherwise. I guess it was the fact that we walked in on a busy Sunday morning(which seemed like the staff was not prepared or trained on how to manage such traffic) and all the yelling, remarks and stink eyes the waitresses were giving one another in front of paying customers(which does not look professional ATALL!) Oh yeah… the food! FORGETFUL

Neal’s coffee shop is tucked in at the Burlingame shopping center, and it is an old school diner with a lot of charm. I visit the sports collectibles shop a few doors down, and randomly stopped in for lunch one day. The soup of the day included lentil soup, so I chose the soup and sandwich combination. The egg salad sandwich popped out to me, and it was an excellent choice! The salad wasn’t too creamy, and the simple toppings included, pickles and crisp butter lettuce. The lentil soup is amazing, and youll feel like youre transported to the 70s with the cozy diner feel. Its very Seinfeldesque! The food is very good for diner classics, and the prices are very fair for a SF/Peninsula restaurant. I recommend you stop by if youre near SFO and want a goof meal.

Usually I don’t go to a coffee shop that’s at a plaza. I was meeting a friend there. Wow, I’m surprised their pancakes were so soft. My French toast with banana were almost as good as my other favorite café on Irving. The service was awesome too. I will try other food next time.

I don’t know if it was because this was a Door Dash order, or what, but the eggs Benedict with hash browns was awful! Door Dash has a section on its ordering page for special instructions. I asked that the English muffin be extra toasted, and I asked for the same to be done to the hash browns. The order was estimated to be delivered at 1057am. At 1115am it was still being prepared according to the Door Dasher tracker. I thought that they were taking the extra time making sure the muffins and hash browns were toasted. At 1130am or so, I received my order from a cheerful Door Dasher, Mary! That is where the nice experience ended. I brought my meal up to the lounge at work, opened the box, and staring back at me were two almost raw poached eggs on English muffins that never saw the inside of the toaster. The hash browns should be called hash blondes, because they were pale and looked like they had been slapped on the flat top for under a minute. Everything was cold, the eggs runny, and muffins and hash browns limp. Ugh! It felt like the chef was rebelling against my request for crispy muffins and hash browns, and gave me the exact opposite of what I’d asked for. If I could give no stars, that is what is deserved here. Only the fresh fruit was good, and for that creation, I have God to thank!

Great café for brunch without the long wait! The pancakes were surprisingly fluffy and yummy. Everything we tried is pretty good — the only disappointment was the biscuit in the biscuit and gravy. The biscuits were too soft and bland, but that’d be the only thing we wouldn’t order again. Service was good and parking’s easy. Yay!

Old school diner. Had a diet salad with cottage cheese, some canned peaches. lettuce. Left full. I thought that was the best salad I had in a long time. Just don’t see those type of recipes anymore. They probably have jello on the menu. Great place…

My husband and I occasionally come here for breakfast before the busy time of 8−9am. It’s cozy, and the staff members are so friendly. The breakfast specials are pretty decent and good deal. We’ve been here 2 times in 2 months and still wanna come back for more.

Not sure what the fuss is about. Good breakfast — but certainly not a 5 star experience. Sticky and tightly arranged seating. Drama dining with the lives of the staff being played out like a B-movie. Not sure I’ll venture back — but glad I got to tick this off the list.

I’ve only been here twice and I like it! I think it’s way better than ihop or Denny’s. The food here is really good. I’ve ordered corn beef hash with over medium eggs with potatoes and another time the scrambled eggs with chorizo with black beans tortilla side of sour cream and salsa. and they we’re both satisfying. I’ll keep coming back. Workers are nice. The restaurant is located in a plaza in burlingame on elcamino. you can usually find parking. They have breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast served all day

nice lil quaint place. Food was super yummy. Pancakes were extra fluffy and delicious. Only reason for 4 stars was bc we waited forever to get our bill and eventually just went up to the counter.

This is one of those great places where the waitresses talk to you really sweet, seem to appreciate you and the food taste gourmet. It has that mamas cooking homemade taste to it. It always come to me nice smelling and fresh tasting too. The food looks to bright and colorful also. The prices are pretty good too. I really like the water they serve here and the bathrooms have always been clean.

Neal’s the coffee shop and diner. Neal’s is one of theses places you miss if you blink. Unassuming on first glance. You come in and are greeted. You are promptly seated. Menus are basics for breakfast and lunch. Eggs, bacon, hash browns. And pan cakes are all good choices. Burgers come with either potatoes, Coleslaw, cottage cheese, soup or salad. The soups are always good so I suggest getting one with your burger. They also have specials they change ever so often. They also come with your choice if sides. Over all not a bad place to start out your day. Coffee is a must here and you cup never runs empty!!!

You have so many choices to select from, when looking for a diner/café on the Peninsula. Today, my family and I decided to check-out Neal’s Coffee Shop. It was full when we walked-up and even more surprised that a table for 4 had just opened, so we were seated very promptly. The staff were very friendly and courteous. I ordered the corned beef hash, eggs and pancakes, my wife got the breakfast sammie, oldest son ordered the pollo loco omelette with pancakes and other son got the chili cheese omelette with french toast. Portions here are very good sized. Not crazy HUGE, but very filling. The pancakes were light and fluffy. All the food was very good and service was fast. We never had to ask for refills on our waters, which shows how attentive the staff are. Overall, we enjoyed a very good breakfast.

Every town USA has their coffee shops that seem to have been there forever. These are the places that seem to mirror their communities that make it a fun place to dine at. Unlike the chain type of family restaurants that have a robotic consistency(or inconsistency) each of these little gems usually offer their own takes on classic diner favorites. Neal’s Coffee shop is one such place. Located at two locations, we had a chance to try the one in the outer reaches of Burlingame(actually right near the border of Millbrae). Their claim to fame has to be their breakfasts because when we walked in at around noon, everybody was mostly ordering and finishing breakfast offerings which are available anytime. Something with pancakes seemed to be the order of choice and they did look good! Now we were determined to get something other than breakfast because on this trip we had enjoyed many fine breakfasts and were quite frankly tired of it, although next time it’s gotta be the breakfast.(We loved those classic counter or booth style coffee shop seating.) A quick scan of the menu disclosed a section devoted to Senior specials, in this case, those 55+, get a nice meal for $ 11.95– a deal!(Inc. entrée, garlic toast, soup or salad and dessert) Da boss chose the Filet Sole, I chose the fresh turkey– both came with nice size portions for each«course». The fish fillet was cooked nicely, not too dry, and tasted just right. They did a nice job with the turkey, a delicious lunch which we topped off with ice cream and sherbet. The staff was quite friendly and very responsive requests–«could I please get extra cranberry sauce?» «Sure Hon, I’ll get it right to you», said our easy going waitress. In the end, the offerings were pretty typical of what you would find in a coffee shop, nothing crazy like beef Wellington or cherries jubilee but I honestly say, for the price, taste, portion and great service. Neal’s Coffee Shop has to be a «grinds» comfort stop when you are near SFO.
