Great place! Been there many times during basketball leagues for kids and at night for adult leagues.
Joe, the owner, is one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. He’s amazing with the kids and extremely patient.
I’ve just read some of the reviews on here and I’m quite honestly shocked to see a parent overly complain about a traveling/​carrying not being called on a 3^rd grader??? That’s your big complaint? Good luck being a parent in the stands in Jr High or High School while you question every call or non call.
For my kid, NBH was a perfect place to play and learn basketball and I recommend it to anyone for kids leagues and adult leagues.

I looked into this place for my kid’s birthday party. You would think they’d want my business. But three voice messages and a couple of emails over the course of a week or two later, I still haven’t had any response. I had to look into another venue. They eventually called back but was absolutely not apologetic about not responding.

Love this place.
We had our sons 6^th birthday here and everything went well. Not to mention that it was completely last minute due to unexpected weather. We solidified our plans the week of.
I was unsure how things would run, but it was perfect. The owner kept the kids engaged and ran really fun drills that made it safe fun and challenging for all.
As a mother of two sons I have to say this is the best deal I’ve found for a birthday.

Facility is average (although bathroom is below the standards). Coaches seem OK but fool around a lot and COMMUNICATION is just SO BAD! I inquired some info about their league via email and phone at least 5 times with no reply. I keep giving up on them and then coming back just because my kid plays the school league here with his friends — but, people — let’s show some professionalism by responding to the emails at least once in awhile, PLEASE!

My 6 year old daughter attended a camp here and really enjoyed it! Developed some great skills and had loads of fun. We also attended a super fun birthday party here as well.

Would give this place zero stars. Stay away from this program. Awful refs, if your coach is not hired by NBH, then good luck getting any correct calls. After tonight, we are pulling out and would advise any parent who is looking for a reputable basketball league for their child to stay away. The owner asked our 2^nd graders who won the Fall season undefeated, to play up in the 3^rd grade summer league. We didn’t get many calls last season either, but we actually played against kids our age. It would be nice if they were actually 3^rd graders instead of 4^th & 5^th graders that we played against tonight though. On top of that, the ref tonight openly admitted he didn’t call a «carry» on a 4^th grader when we pointed out the kid travelled. Ref: «That wasn’t a travel, he carried.» Me: «Either way, you didn’t call it!». I have been wanting to write this review since last season but was hoping this season would be better. This organization goes against everything you’d want to teach your sports-​loving basketball player: fairness, playing by the rules, and cheaters never prosper. We had the opportunity to but in some older siblings as well, but we actually are trying to teach our kids how to win the right way. NBH is a disgrace to the game of basketball. Why pay $ 725 per team (and we had two in the summer league) for your kids to be subject to such unprofessional & biased officiating? I’ve seen better officiating at the Y.
It’s my understanding that NBH used to be a great place for basketball. This is not the case anymore. The disorganization and lack of communication regarding game times is just ridiculous. We don’t find out what time our game is until the night before. There are only 5 teams in the entire summer league (3 now), how difficult are games to figure out? Furthermore, the other team had 6 coaches on their bench and whenever there was a time out, these coaches were goofing off and dunking on the lowered hoops. I get that their young, probably high school & college age, but they are definitely old enough to act professionally.
3÷9÷15: Responding to the owner’s response. Not sure when that was posted as I rarely go back to my reviews. Just happened to check today. Great that you are responding to these reviews. Kudos. Not sure if your response actually helped anyone though, especially from a business standpoint. Yes, our kids were 3^rd graders playing up in a 4^th grade division. But you also had a 5^th grader who happened to be a sibling of one of the 4^th graders. Were you upfront and honest about that? And perhaps our coach didn’t react appropriately, but he was reacting to the blatant bias of your refs and immature attitudes of the six coaches you had on your bench. As any good… no, wait, as any great coach would do, he stuck up for his players. So let’s not get things twisted here. We chose not to come back, invitation or not. We did not return even when that season was still ongoing.

My son has been taking weekly basketball classes here for over a year. NBH was recommended to us by friends a couple years ago. Haven’t done the camps or birthday parties yet but the classes, taught by Joe as well as his very competent staff have always been very skills-​oriented and inclusive to the wide range of children’s experiences in any given class. Boys and girls, younger and older, they are all able to play together and learn together. My son has improved much over time coming just once a week and is much more confident now playing with friends or at school. He is going to keep taking classes here as long as it fits his schedule, and as long as he still thinks it is fun!

I came here for a birthday party recently and was pleasantly surprised. They had a large basketball gym and bleacher seats available for parents to sit and watch.
The party started with an instructor organizing games with our large group. They did kickball, dodgeball and another racing game. After an hour of games you are walked across the parking lot to another building that serves as an eating area with a large table and chairs and bench seating along the wall.
Great place for a party if you want the kids to run around indoors that doesn’t involve any inflatible jumpys of any sort.
It’s kind of hard to find but just remember when you are at the end of Rollins road closer to Milbrae it’s on your left side.

Wednesday, June 1^st, 2011: Even though our visiting team won by plenty of points to spare, there were a total of 6 points not scored for our team. During garbage time, the calls against our team were beginning to get lopsided it was getting ridiculous. All season long, and it was about to get worse.
Wednesday, June 8^th, 2011: Our visiting team eventually won by 10 points; however, the first half was a close game and total of 4 points were not scored for our team. I told the referee about the first 2 points missed and not scored, and he didn’t even acknowledge the fact. Some parents on our team from other teams watching the game even noticed the transgression. I told the scorekeeper at halftime and he added the points for a 21 — 21 score. By the time we came back from the half, the score was back to 21 — 19. There was another scoring mix-​up later in the half and since we were winning, I thought I’d let it go.
Wednesday, June 15^th, 2011: Last game of the season before playoffs starts. Referees are supposed to show sportsmanship and unbiased officiating. Referee is clearly rooting for the home team with his joyful comments and even giving high fives and directions to the other team. If you’re gonna do that, at least do it for both teams. Home team is inbounding the ball and visiting team keeps stealing the ball. Ball keeps getting rewarded to home team. There’s also the 5 second rule that is more like 6 seconds for the home team and 4 seconds for the visiting team. Then there’s the 3 second rule inside the paint. Visiting team always gets called for 3 second rule while home team rarely gets a call. You might say there’s even a 4 second rule for the home team. More on that later.
Wednesday, June 22^nd, 2011: Playoff game — Didn’t get to watch the whole game due to work, but managed to catch the last quarter including OT. Some of the parents have kept me up to speed and it seems to be the same common theme of UNFAIR officiating. Saw a traveling call against visiting team that was not clearly a violation. Worse is home team is blatantly traveling and not being called. Again with visiting team getting called for a 3 second rule that was more like a fraction. On the other side, home team player is camping in the key for 5 seconds and referee opts to ignore it. I had to step outside out of frustration. Jump ball tie ups goes to home team. Same jump ball tie up on the other side gets called a foul and two free-​throws rewarded to home team. Another jump ball call where a home team player is over the back of the visiting team is called a possession for visiting team to inbound the ball. Close game and visiting team steals the ball clearly from home team and gets called a foul. Two free-​throws rewarded to home team. Several more calls goes against visiting team just for good measure ensuring victory for home team.
LOOK, I am not making this stuff up out of frustration for our team losing, but I would have taken the defeat had it been a fairly-​called game of basketball. Our team have played numerous tournaments during the weekends and the difference in officiating here at Nothing But Hoops and other venues are like night and day. The other venues are more professional and FAIR. You don’t see the referees hooting and hollering for one team or another at other venues… unlike here at Nothing But Hoops. If you’re going to call these violations, then call it for both teams. As a referee, you don’t show your emotion and support, but you have to restrain yourself and be professional. What do you think this shows to the other team that you are not rooting for?
I could go on and on about other games and parents noticing these inconsistencies, but that’s not gonna change the fact that there is clearly something wrong here. I could even go on to say that this facility should not hold any regular games as the dimensions are such that you hardly have a place to inbound the ball from the sides. Most of the balls that are stolen and goes immediately out of bounds once it touches the wall could easily be a turnover of possession at other venues. But the most obvious and glaring fact is that this facility does not officiate a basketball game in a FAIR, UNBIASED and PROFESSIONAL manner. Especially if you’re not from the area.

We just had my son’s 3^rd birthday party here and it was awesome — well organized, fun and terrific staff. Joe and his staff were super accommodating and easy to work with. The kids and parents all had fun. I highly recommend the place for birthday kids of all ages.

I’ve never been a fan of these «purchased parties». I get claustrophobic, the sugar-​infused kids bounce off the walls with crappy soda, and you need to get out of the room to the minute before the next party comes in 3 minutes later. Too assembly-​line ish for me.
We had a party for my kids at Nothing But Hoops, and they were fabulous. Joe and his side kicks are super with the kids, adjusting the activities based on age and sports-​ability levels and interests. It’s a very low key setting, set way back from the street, with no other groups or parties happening simultaneously. It’s like you’ve rented out a huge gym with instructors! They took care of the foods/​drinks for the kids, and I brought snacks, veggies, and drinks for the moms/​dads/​grandparents.
I would highly recommend giving this place a try.

Enrolled my grandson for spring break. He had a great experience. The instructors seemed to be aware of the kids, making sure they were comfortable and having a good experience. My grandson has done many many sports camps and this is one of the best.
I liked how every kid seemed to be having a good time.

My kids have been coming here off and on since Foster City Mini Hoops days. Now in Burlingame, Nothing But Hoops a.k.a. NBH is a fun place for the kids to meet their excercise quota as well as practice their game. They have expanded from basketball to all kinds of other sports such as indoor soccer, dodgeball, baseball, etc. They do full service birthday parties (you party, they clean) as well as summer/​spring/​winter camps when the kids are out of school. They have programs for toddlers through adults. Joe, one of their instructors, is fabulous with young children. Check out their website for more info
