Second to None Baseball Academy

Coach Matt is an absolutely fantastic baseball coach and I would highly recommend him to anyone.
As background, my 9 year old son loves baseball. We have been doing Little League for 4+ years as well as being on a travel team for 2+ years. We have therefore been exposed to terrific coaches and some not so good ones as well.
Of these different coaches, I would rate Matt as among the very best for three reasons
(1) Matt is able to identify problems and is able to effectively communicate it my son. For batting, Matt realized that my son was rotating his wrists just before hitting and has been working to fix it. For pitching, Matt realized the my son was holding the ball inconsistently in the glove before pitching, which resulted in subsequent variability. As a result of Matt focusing on my son’s consistency, my son pitched 4 ¹⁄₃ inning during his Little League playoff game with an ERA of 0.00. That for me was the ultimate proof of Matt’s coaching abilities.
(2) Matt really connects with my son in a tough but affectionate manner. When my son makes mistakes (which he often does!!) Matt calls him a «knuckle head» which my son finds funny. During practice, Matt jokes around with my son and talks to him in a manner that my son will listen.
(3) While Matt is running a business and recently increased his hourly rate, I feel that Matt is financially fair and honest in his dealing. We recently had some email miscommunications which Matt resolved in a fair manner. He also treats the people who work for him properly which is important.
The only complaint I have is that Matt is not good at responding to emails and texts. Matt depends on his fiancée to handle these communications, but she does not come to practice and is not in the same page.

Coach Matt is an outstanding baseball instructor. He is great with teaching the technical skills, but more importantly, he has a great personality and attitude. He strikes a good balance between helping the kids focus and keeping it fun. He really helps build a child’s confidence.
If Matt was coaching or teaching something else, anything else — be it football, soccer, tennis or even the piano, I would still want my children to learn from him — just so they can benefit from his influence.
