This is my first review on Unilocal; what I experienced was so egregious, I had to sign up and share the traumatic experience and warn others.
I don’t know how professional or competent Dr, Roost is because I never got past the rude obnoxious office staff to make an appointment.
I called because I had moved into the area and I was seeking a specialist to continue treatment for my digestive system issues, by the time I was finished receiving the whip lashing from the woman that announced that she was Dr. Roost’s secretary, and by the time I was told off and hung up on my stomach disturbance had escalated to a major issue so much so that I wanted to shoot myself in my head to releave the pain and the trauma I just experienced.
From reading the other reviews I have concluded that since it’s impossible to book an appointment, I believe that the office staff has lots of time during the day to sit around watching soap operas and discussing with each other who had the best story of being rude and giving the most difficult time to poor unsuspecting ill people that called looking for help

I am over 50 and so it was time to go for a colonoscopy. My PCP referred me to Dr. Roost. The Dr seemed OK, friendly, and we scheduled for the procedure. A screening colonoscopy is completely covered by my insurance. But then the bills came anyway. Things were wrong with the coding and so on. I cancelled the procedure just the day before, and learned afterwards that was a good thing. I would have been up for much worse than just a few hundred $ loss.
The Dr seemed OK, but this office is the door to billing hell.

The receptionist stinks! She was rude beyond belief and unhelpful. She obviously hates her job and/​or life, and it shows.
As for the doctor. .. never got that far. Found a great doctor AND staff elsewhere.
Wonder how many patients this crazy lady scares off?.

Receptionist is RUDE! She hung up on me… I’ll be going somewhere else. Thanks for nothing and I’m sorry you hate your job.

I called Dr. Roost office and wanted to schedule an appointment. I was told that he accepts patients by physician referral only… since I do not have one of those, the doctor will not see me — even that my insurance would cover the visit. Very bad practice — I called other gastroenterologists in the area, none of them required a referral.

Wonderful physician. Dr. Roost was extremely professional, had a great demeanor, and provided a thorough explanation for his diagnosis. If I ever need to see a GI specialist in the future, I would certainly come back to Dr. Roost’s office.
