Late night coffee and a donut hit the spot last night 6÷10÷16, Friday night. I walk in and ask for the freshest one they’ve got. The worker there points me in the right direction with a glazed buttermilk. I order a small coffee too for $ 3.05. There are two coffee options on hot plates and if I remember right even a decaf at a late hour which is unusual. I grab a french roast which is self serve. Cream in a thermos(kept properly) is next to it the coffee. There are some goofy old low children seats by the next window. Its this kind of thing that fulfills my expectations for a donut shop. If there is no outdated furniture it just doesn’t feel right to me. Tile floors that have a wood look add warmth. Top it off with easy parking and two friendly workers. Perfect recipe for a five star experience and after some sugar, fat and caffeine I feel as though my night no longer has to end.

After a night on the town, the boy was happy to wind up at Royal Donut Shop No. 1 for a late-night sugary, carb-y fix. This is a 24⁄7 café right next to the train station in Burlingame/within walking distance from the heart of downtown. They might not always have a huge selection, but they do have a decent selection ranging throughout the night. The donut was just that, a donut — not good, not bad, just pretty run of the mill. I think the bigger draw is its location and hours. P. S. — Don’t forget to use your Unilocal check-in bonus for a free donut!

Ok maybe this review is a little harsh but let me explain. I’ve been going to this place since I was a kid. I went to high school across the tracks and have seen this place change over the years. Now I am a sucker for a good donut, and went to get out tonight. First, when did they go from being 24 hours to now closed at night? Second of all, and a much bigger issue: as I was walking up to the locked front door, I apparently startled a big mouse that hanging out by the door and it ran and hid somewhere. My question is if there’s a mouse hanging out by the entrance, then he’s probably not the only one. Super nasty. Gotta think there could be a few living inside that shop. Thanks royal donuts. It’s been real.

The donuts are AMAZING. Nothing too fancy but they are fresh and yummmmy! I can get a maple bar or chocolate donut from here and it can taste like the best thing everrr. Also, it’s only 9.95 for a dozon donuts. they have other special donuts with custard, donut bars, etc and they are nomore than $ 2.00 each(they are not included with the dozon donuts) the almond donut was top notch!

I can not complain about this breakfast place. I checked in and I got a free donut. I was seated right away by a girl with a huge smile who was also my server. Coffee was good and their prices are great and a big serving. When I finally got my plate, I was suprised on how much food I got. Very fresh and omelette had fresh eggs. The tomatoes were freshly cut, ham was thick, bacon was crunchy and sausage had a great taste. It tasted like something made from home. No precut tomato, veggies, ham bacon etc. if I was staying more days in San Francisco, I would definitely come to this café every morning. It’s a great hole in the wall with great people and good food. Most of my stay I did go to chain restaurants and my last morning before heading back home, I came here. It’s close to the train station, so if you’re waiting for the train or wake up early or whatever it is you’re doing, this place will make you feel like you’re home waiting for someone to make your breakfast. Donuts were fresh and tasty. Not hard or cold like other places. i highly recommend this place if you live close by, travel or stay in the airport hotels which by the way Hilton was a memorable hotel. Read my review on it.

The donuts are okay– nothing special but not bad either. It’ll definitely satisfy your late night sweet tooth as they are open 24⁄7BUT its cash only so make sure your have some bucks on you. Plus its right next to the caltrain, so its a nice quick spot to grab something if your train is delayed, or if it broke down, or some«incident» happened on the tracks. :P

i been going there for years and I should have done this looooong looooong time ago. They have by far the best donuts, the place is clean and the owner and his son are the most accomediting bussines owner that I have ever meet. There are other places, but I’ll continue going there as long as they are there and as long as I live in Burlingame :)))).

This donut shop is close to my school, so I go there a lot to get a snack after school. The donuts are fresh, and delicious. Also, the prices for everything are very cheap, especially for the quality that they are. The staff that work there are very unfriendly; the lady never smiles, and is extremely unhelpful.

I used to visit this store for the Marianne’s ice cream(hard to find outside of Santa Cruz) which is fantastic. «1020»(caramel ice cream with fudge and Oreos) is one of my all-time favorites. I’ve also tried the donuts, which are fair. Unfortunately, the old white lady is one of the worst employees I have ever dealt with. A friend and I were waiting for the rest of our group to show up to order ice cream. Despite the store being empty, we were told we needed to order now or leave the store. We ordered two items to appease the employee. Nature called, and I asked to use the restroom. She informed me that she didn’t allow«students» to use«her» restroom, and suggested I walk to the park. First off, in California it is illegal to refuse bathroom access to a paying customer. Secondly, I’m over 18 and a COLLEGESTUDENT(not a rambunctious Jr High kid). I read her the law mandating that she provide restroom access, after which she continued to refuse and threatened to call the police(which other reviews would suggest she would follow through on). This employee is discriminatory, and ruined what would otherwise be a positive experience.

it’s okay donuts. Luckies donuts are better and there’s isn’t that good. I’ve had it a few times and it’s not that good. The service is good. The owner I think works the counter as well.

**Cash only, y’all** — PROS: Delicious, fresh donuts! Reasonable prices. The blueberry cake is my measuring stick, and this one was yummy, sweet and crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. My kids loved the chocolate sprinkled cake. The glazed are big and fluffy. CONS: Surprised they don’t carry OJ, and apparently the counter clerk might break if she smiled.

The donuts here are quite possibly the best I have ever had, hot, fresh, and delicious! I love the fact that they are open 24/7, and have ice cream to boot!!! The prices aren’t bad, I have to say it’s dangerous that I live so close! Haha

I’m gonna have to crack these folks today. I’ve been to this spot 4 times in the last few months at different times and no donuts. Saturday night, stepson had donuts on the brain. Crickets. He wanted to comeback Sunday afternoon for a snack. Crickets! Was at the train station catching the train to a Giants game and walked in to see if maybe I just had bad luck. Nope. No donuts kids. Yeah, they had some three day old croissants and a few plain Jane something or others, but you kinda need to have the goods if you wanna strut the 4 star Unilocal review don’t ya?

Not sure how this place has four stars — I stopped in for a chocolate frosted yeast doughnut in the morning on the way to the airport, and it was simply not good. I would think a Monday morning near the train station would be a pretty good time and place to grab a donut at a 4-star establishment? Unfortunately, mine was dry, kind of dense, and definitely not fresh. My companion was similarly not impressed with his own donut of choice. I didn’t even bother to finish mine. A subpar yeast doughnut is such a disappointment!

Widest and cheapest selection of gourmet coffee in Burlingame, I stop here every day before taking the train to work. Great location for that morning Joe. Only downside is that they are cash only, the $ 1.50 coffee makes up for it though.

Donuts and croissants are made every night. Don’t ask for ice cream after 8:30. They are open 24⁄7. Enjoy!

Not the greatest Donuts but they have a good selection. A dozen is $ 9 which is a fair price to pay. They have some really odd combinations here like Maple with Coconut. It’s not something I’ve ever seen on a Donut before but it was worth the try once, doubt it will happen again though! Let’s just say it’s an acquired taste. I have noticed that the later you come in the day the slower the service is, could be something to do with them being 24 hours? Who knows! They also have 1020 Ice Cream, apparently that’s a big deal…
