My wife and I have worked with Stephan on several transactions over the last 6 years. We have bought a house where he was the listing agent and have purchased property using him as the buying agent. In all cases he was an excellent agent who knew how to get the deal done.
In my opinion Stephan is the best agent on the peninsula due to his knowledge, integrity, experience and use of technology. Stephan is extremely knowledgeable about real estate in general and is truly an expert in the local real estate market. Most importantly, he can be trusted. He is not going to push you into a bad deal so he can make a commission. He will do everything possible to protect your interests. His use of technology is a huge plus allowing me to get more market information sooner. He is also very responsive in returning calls and getting us in to see properties which we may bid on.
In a competitive real estate market like the peninsula it is essential to have an agent like Stephan.

This review is long overdue but Stephen helped my husband and I not only sell our house quickly but also helped every step of the way. He goes above and beyond the call of duty, keeps us updated throughout the whole process and has great connections. DISCLAIMER TO THIS REVIEW — I am a friend of Steve’s. I have lunch with him every month or so, we have been guests in each others houses and our family’s once met up at Disneyland in Anaheim.
I met Steve through my wife. We had our house in Montara on the market and were looking to move to this side of hill. My wife met Steve at one of his open houses. The house wasn’t right for us but she came home and told me that she thinks she found an agent we could work with. We are both sensitive to certain types of people and didn’t wish to spend our summer trapped in a car for days on end with some person who is pushing to do something like make a sale or appear in some way (e.g., smart, friendly, funny, amicable etc.,).
Professionally, Stephan Marshall was a God-​send for us. He is quiet, unassuming and extremely professional (I was often amused to find him in a suit on hot Saturday afternoons). He knows his business well and would point out home concerns to us that I would have missed. It became apparent to me that he likes his job. I really felt that our satisfaction was more important to him than the sale. It took us a while and a few attempts, but Steve helped us find the best house for us.
Personally, he became my friend after the sale for his honesty, openness, thoughtfulness, experiences, and his sense of humor.
