A nice little rest stop. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked. Picnic tables if that suites your fancy. Vending machine only take cash, but that will give you an opportunity to use the change in your cup holder. ;)

Clean rest stop. Very small, but efficient. Vending machines are cash only and very funny. Pretty easy to get to off the interstate.

Hamster bladder coalition members-​CLEAN and close to parking area restrooms!
I use this rest area a good bit on my drives to and from Raleigh, both sides of the highway for this location are always CLEAN and well lit. Kudos to the staff there!

Impressively CLEAN, both inside and outside.
Separate soda/​vending area.
Cold drinking fountain (s) to refill water bottles.
Well lit.
Plentiful parking.
Easy access to the interstate.

Maybe it’s just coming from the West Coast, where rest areas can be really sparse and gross, but these places are AMAZING! The vending machines! The lights that work! The clean toilets! The non-​overflowing garbage cans! I like wanted to hang out here. Good stop.

Very Clean facility!
And staffed with two uniformed custodians, who looked very spiffy as they vacuumed & mopped & spruced the place up.
Also noteworthy was that all the trash cans inside & out were not overflowing.
The vending area was also neat & tidy.
Plus lots of picnic tables & shade to sit & chill.

If you are driving along I-​40 and you need to pull over and take a nap, this is a decent place. Nice size rest area and they even have space for you to let your four legged friend stretch his legs,

Pretty nice rest area. Quite a fes picnic tables in a pleasant wooded area well recessed from the highway (although you can still hear it very well unfortunately.) Restrooms are quite clean. Truck parking is in the back where it is quieter so truckers can get some sleep. Car parking is close to the highway.

As far as rest stops go, most in NC are pretty decent & clean. This one has a particularly large amount of open green space for pets or kids… which is good when you are in the middle of a 9.5 hour drive with a 2 year old.

Charlotte, NC
A good spot to rest from a couple of hours of intense highway driving. I had to relax my middle finger after flipping off so many highway morons. That little stalk on your steering wheel column? It’s not going to bite you, I promise. Do your highway neighbors a favor and SIGNAL when you’re changing lanes. Ugh!
Anyway, I stopped here and managed to get a half hour nap. Very few parking spaces are in any sort of dark area away from the overhead lights. I suppose this is intentional, but when you want to be out of the light for sleepy time, it’s a bummer.
