Their pizza is wayyyy too good, I could eat a whole pie. They also have the best beer in down town burlington(even better than farm house!!)

Pizza was great, definitely glad we made this our first stop for lunch when arriving in Burlington. This place also owns zero gravity brewery, so they have a great selection of craft beer. Melina’s favorite was The Winter Gruit. More of an IPA guy myself, which was also fantastic. For the pizza, we got a large half Power to the people, half pepperoni and peppers. We added jalapeños to the pepperoni and pepper side for good measure. That was a lot of P’s…anyway, from the number of reviews and our experience I would say this is a solid bet for lunch or dinner.

We visited twice in one weekend… The service, food and beer was outstanding! We tried two different salads that were so fresh and tossed in a delicious house-made dressing. Their pizzas were served piping hot and right out of the pizza oven(that sits in the seating area of the restaurant). Sunday morning they offer a fabulous Bloody Mary with your choice of beer for $ 8!

I only stopped in for the beer, so I can’t speak for the food(though it smelled absolutely amazing). This place is home to Zero Gravity beer, which was fantastic enough that I got a full growler of their saison for a reasonable price! The ambiance is cozy and the bartender was incredibly helpful and friendly, letting us try multiple samples of beer. We came in after the dinner rush(around 10 – 11 pm on a Friday) and it wasn’t busy at all. Highly recommend!

American Flatbread is phenomenal. My fiancé and I came here twice during a 4-night trip to Burlington, once for lunch and once for dinner. Walking into the restaurant, there’s a sign saying to stay off your phone, which is a nice reminder to enjoy the company you’re with, and stay off your phone(more challenging than I’d like to admit). When we came for lunch, we were seated immediately, which is apparently a rarity(more to come on that!). The draught beers constantly rotate, and the cool thing about American Flatbread is that you can get small glasses to sample a few(like tasting size glasses) and not commit to one 12 oz pour. That makes it a lot of fun to keep rotating through that beer list. For the life of me, I cannot remember what beers we ordered, but they were absolutely delicious(we ordered 2 rounds during lunch). The inside of the restaurant is open to view the making of all pizzas, as well as the wood burning stove, which is really cool, to sit and just anticipate your pizza being cooked. We ordered two small pizzas(not to share — pizza is NOT a sharing food). I ordered the Roasted Tomato Salsa pizza, which comes with roasted tomatoes, garlic, black beans, jalapenos, organic corn, and cilantro. Oh my god, it was phenomenal, and left me so thankful that our hotel had a fridge, because while I do not share pizza, I couldn’t finish the entire small by myself(also, I do think I gave the fiancé a slice, so I’m not a total pizza Grinch). My fiancé ordered the«Power to the People,» which is a buffalo chicken pizza with buffalo sauce/blue cheese, and he was thrilled(he can’t share pizza, as I do not eat meat, so he kind of wins all around). The slices themselves are cut unevenly, which is also a unique feature. On Saturday night, we were starving at 5PM and figured we’d head over the Flatbread again for more pizza and beers. Our thought was, «It’s 5PM, who eats that early on a Saturday night?» The answer is, everyone, because we did have to wait for a table for two. It was absolutely insane how packed this place was so early on a weekend, and it just got busier(when we ended up leaving, the wait time was at 2+ hours). This time around, we switched up our orders again, with fiancé ordered the Pepperoni & Peppers, and me ordering the Medicine Wheels. Again, we were thrilled with our orders and again, tried small glasses of different beers from our first visit. Service this time was nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either, but the food is so good that we didn’t even mind. All in all, this place is absolutely awesome, Delicious food, awesome drinks, and a place that reminds you to drop the phone and enjoy the people you’re there with, which is a refreshing change of pace.

Push open the heavy wooden door that seals out the howling wind coming across City Hall park, step into Flatbread, and you are immediately hit with the warmth and smell of the open hearth, baking flatbread, and crackling fireplace. As you move towards the ample bar crowded with groups of friends happily imbibing the local brews, you realize that this is literally as good as it gets. You’ve found the best bar in town, maybe the world. Every time I’m in Burlington, my girlfriend and I eat here. Every time. Never disappoints. The beers are all brewed by Zero Gravity, Flatbread’s brewery. The selection rotates through a huge variety, while certain staples(TLAIPA) appear to be available year round. The wait is generally not too bad, especially when compared to other places on and just off Church St. This place is great for families or large parties, or to settle up to the bar and split a bread with a few people. The buffalo chicken one, the new vt sausage, and the roasted salsa w. chicken are great. They have weekly local/veggie special pizzas and salads. The same bartenders have been working here forever, and seemingly no one has aged… I think there is something in the beer.

American Flatbread never lets me down. On a casual weekday night, this is where my husband and I go to get the most bang for our buck. We usually sit at the bar and split a small pepperoni and peppers pizza and enjoy a Zero Gravity beer each. It’s casual. It’s really good brick oven pizza. And we always run into friends. It’s where the Burlington locals like to go out for dinner.

First, if you read no further: GO. Check this place out. We were visiting from Ohio and my husband’s cousin(a local) proposed this place. My first instinct was, no. Hell no. I typically hate flatbreads. They’re usually overbaked crackers that always leave me with order envy. Not this place. For one, the name is deceiving. It’s real, legit pizza pie. They have killer menu pizzas with fresh ingredients, but, you also can order make-your-own style. Better yet, you can split your pizza in half and order it however the heck you wish. They encourage it, in fact. A special on one half and your go-to on the other half. Can’t lose! We also had a salad, which we split. Just enough to tide us over, but not too large that it was a meal in itself. My husband and I all but killed a full pizza, which comes in two sizes. I suppose the smaller one would have been more personal sized. If you’re seated in the main dining area, you can see them prepping and baking the pizza in the big wood-fired oven. Wood-fired pizza; what could be better?! It’s a cozy atmosphere, but good for groups — and families. I didn’t imbibe in the beer(but their wine was yummy), but our cousin said they have a brewery on-site. So, if you’re a beer type, I guess that means they have a really good beer selection. Overall, I was pleasantly impressed!

This place is great. The food(flatbread pizza from brick and fire oven) is savory and flavorful and I’ve never been disappointed. What I don’t like is that it is almost always very busy and the lines can be long with a wait to match. No reservations, and no place to sit while you wait. And it’s very noisy… not really a good place to go if you plan to have a casual conversation. Between the downtown parking, the long waits, and the noise, we don’t make much of an effort to go there, but every once in a while it’s just good to wrap the ol’ tastebuds around one of their flatbreads.

Awesome housemade Zero Gravity beer plus delicious, locally sourced, organic, thin crust pizza? What’s not to like? For pizza, anything with their housemade maple pork sausage is going to be a solid bet. As for the beers, I tried samplers of everything on the menu, and especially enjoyed their seasonal brews but found everything to be worth trying. Good pizza + good beer = happy me.

TL;DR — Disappointing choice for lunch Had the Revolution Flatbread(homemade organic tomato sauce, caramelized onions, mushrooms, cheeses and fresh herbs) and just didn’t think it was anything special. Not bad in any way, but short on sauce and really average. Don’t get me wrong — I’m a pizza snob from North Jersey, but I think a lot of non metro NY area places have started making really good flatbread style pies. This just isn’t one of them.(With so many other positive ratings though, it seems like either my pie was just off or Vermonters just don’t know pizza). Also tried the Sasquash, a squash ale. Same as the pizza — fine, but nothing special. Can’t say I would judge their beers on such an off-kilter choice though.

I absolutely liked the restaurant from the minute I walked in. There was a notice to not use cellphones once inside the restaurant, a sign you would usually see in hospitals. But I agree that we should look up from our screens and spend more time enjoying real life moments. Due to the lineup, on a friday night, we waited 20min until our buzzer, in the form of a slice of pizza, finally vibrated. The environment was very laid back and the pizza stone radiated as much heat as good vibes(of fresh pizza). When looking at the menu, I noticed that most dairy products and meats are free-range, organic, and local, which makes me believe they actually care about health, environment, etc — stuff I don’t care about, but I appreciate their effort in tackling the big problems. We ordered a buffalo chicken/blue cheese flatbread, and a VT sausage flatbread: possibly the best pizza or flatbread we had in our lives. Crispy thin crust, well balanced flavors, and not as heavy as the average pizza. On the side, we had garlic olive oil, tomato sauce, and habanero hot sauce. Man, each excellently complemented the flatbreads in a different way. The house root beer tasted very good, unlike most root beer(which taste like medicinal syrup). The waiters were warm and friendly. I’m not sure if it’s because I left my phone in a pocket, but something in this restaurant made this experience magical. I would absolutely go back the next time I pass by Burlington.

While coming home from Montréal this place was a real gem to come across. We sat at the bar since there was a bit of a wait in the dining area. My bf and I tried several of the no gravity beers and loved the squash one. It was a perfect fall beer and even got a growler of it to take back to Boston. The flatbreads were amazing and you could watch them make them in their special dome brick oven. They allow you to do halves of the speciality pizzas, which was awesome for the girl who needs it all. Service was great and the staff there were very fun and welcoming. I could of sat at the bar all day if I had time to. After eating go down the main road and go to the pier. Saw the most amazing sunset, well other than FL that is.

Great pizza. Great beer. An awesome restaurant/brewery with an outdoor patio perfect for summer. The service was a little bit slow, but we got: — Evolution Salad: fresh and healthy with a slight Asian flair(sesame seeds, ginger dressing) — Creamy Tomato Soup: special of the day and very good — New Vermont sausage: BESTPIZZA! — Pepperoni and Peppers: yum! Our #2 fav — Buffalo chicken: chicken was a little dried out, but still tasty

I would seriously consider moving to Burlington just so I could have this flatbread pizza all the time. Showed up on a Saturday night around 8:30PM and only had to wait 20 min before we were seated. We got a table front and center to where the pizza magic making happens. This place runs like a well oiled machine. The menu is simple, a few salads, a soup of the day and the flatbread pizzas. You can build your own salad or pizza too if you want. The evolution salad was incredible. Mixed greens, sesame seeds, carrot, and I added Vermont blue cheese that was a great call because all together with the ginger dressing was light, fresh and crisp. We ordered a half sausage/mushroom/sun dried tomatoes and half cheese pizza. The sausage side was succulent. The cheese side was amazing and spices with herbs. The pizza was outstanding. Crust thin, hot and crispy. Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had. The building itself is impressive and boasts exposed brick with 2 story ceilings and industrial lighting fixtures. The atmosphere is bustling, a little loud but tolerable. As an aside they have some local rootbeer on draft that was excellent. Service was excellent. Our waitress made sure we always had drinks refilled, and checked in on us pretty regularly. Overall great experience.

By far one of my favorite restaurant/bars I visited on my trip to Vermont. All of the beers on tap are from Zero Gravity, which has it’s brewery just a mile or two down the road. Their beers are nothing shy of excellent. Their Conehead IPA was the first beer I had after arriving in VT and ended up being one of my favorites on the entire trip. I chose to sit at the bar, however; the restaurant is rather large and on a nice day, you can even sit outside. I tried several beers including their Belgian Crush(Belgian pale), Keeper(Belgian strong pale), TLAIPA, and Little Wolf(pale ale). I was a huge fan of every beer I tried. I also had the Dancing Heart flatbread, which proved to be pretty good. At one point I had to leave to add more money to my parking meter and the bartender was super cool with it. I showed him my American Homebrewers card and asked if they gave discounts. He told me not to worry and ended up taking a beer off my tab! If great beer, pizza, and awesome service is your thing, then American Flatbread is the place for you.

exactly what I was expecting, in a great way. The menu is filled with local, fresh items that bind together to make interesting pizzas. I was a bit disappointed that the eggs Benedict flatbread wasn’t available(brunch only) but I got the sausage pizza instead which was very flavorful. Vermont sausage, carmelized onions, sundried tomatoes, and mushrooms. The crust was perfect; crunchy on the outer edges but soft and warm in the middle. Nothing to complain about flatbread-wise. Beer selection; extensive. Service; EH. Greatly quickly but then neglected for 10+ minutes before we were able to order drinks.
