I went to Chefs Corner and was disappointed in my food. They use to be better. My food was tasteless. I do enjoy the atmosphere and the people working are nice.

How have I waited almost two years without visiting Chef’s Corner? Wow! My husband and I stopped here for an early lunch today. First of all, the space they have is adorable; a very rustic and homey feel with cute glowing star lights and wooden picnic tables. We were greeted by two very friendly employees and an array of delicious looking sweets and interesting salads. There was an edamame salad that looked divine buuuut I already made my choice to get a turkey sandwich. I’m happy with my decision because it was Thanksgiving between bread! The cranberry sage mayo really pulls turkey together! I’m not sure if their bread is homemade but it’s rich and full of flavor regardless! I wish I could review my husband’s sandwich but he ate it so fast that I’m sure it was delicious! It’s probably a good thing that this location is closed on weekends or else my wallet and waistline would suffer(to be fair, they *do* have healthy salad choices but my willpower blows). I can’t wait to go back and try more of their yummy creations!

This hidden gem serves some of the best café food I have ever eaten. I got the turkey sandwich, which they serve with cranberry mayonnaise that is to die for. The butternut squash bisque warmed my soul on an otherwise chilly fall day, and the portion sizes were perfect — a whole sandwich and a cup of soup lasted me through breakfast and lunch. The menu is quite extensive for such a compact kitchen, and it was all I could do not to buy every last pastry(the mini pumpkin cheesecakes especially!). The atmosphere is cozy and rustic, with lots of local art to peruse. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I can’t believe I’ve lived in Burlington for four years and never found this secret food heaven!

I really enjoy having lunch here. I expect this location is often overlooked unless you work in the area. It’s a mini version of the Chef’s Corner in Williston and serves much of the same food, but a smaller selection. Chef’s Corner serves European-style food, but in many ways is similar to regular slightly higher-end lunch places you will find throughout Burlington. I always get the quiche Lorraine, which is consistently great. There are always very nice dessert selections in the display case and gluten-free options in terms of sandwiches and entrees. Service is great. You order and pay and they bring you your food. Eddie, the manager is friendly and accommodating. I especially like the somewhat dark, quiet quality of this spot. You feel like you’re hiding away from the hubbub of downtown and can meet with a friend to catch up and have a real conversation. Outside dining is also available when the weather is nice. They are open from 7:30am until 3pm Monday through Friday.

I ate lunch here yesterday, cool out of the way place in an old industrial complex. Vert cool architecture, great food. I had the shrimp salad and a salad bar. Nice atmosphere, good service, reasonably priced. I took dessert to go. I would definitely go back! Try it out…

As breakfast and lunch spots go — this is really good. There have been a few previous deli’s in this location, but as a satellite from Chef’s Corner in Williston, they have this down pat. The food here is priced very well — especially considering the quality. Local produce and meats — and the breads are great. Salads were desperately needed in this area of town, and they hit that with a salad bar and bunch of pre-made salad options. I’ve been working in the adjacent building for 10 years, and we’re just psyched to have such awesome food here! Needed to spread the word.
