Argentinian Beef and Korean Kimchi are the best! Whenever we have time to wait for a great sandwich my girlfriend and I go here.

We were three for lunch on December 30th, 2015, enticed by the many positive reviews. The paintings are interesting but the place is in a dimly lit basement. Sad to say, we were disappointed with the sandwiches, and the price we paid. For over $ 10 a sandwich, they were regular size and did not come with anything else on the plate. Chips, coleslaw, salad, pickles, crudités — anything would be nice to round out the plate. There was only one person preparing the food and serving. There is no menu with detailed descriptions of each sandwich, so we had to ask the already-too-busy staff. We waited five minutes at the bar for him to refill our water glasses, and my daughter passed our plates to us from the bar when they were ready(after a long wait). We hope that the restaurant normally has two staff, as that would have made a big difference. We felt badly for him, as he had to do everything which was physically impossible. The Tofu sandwich was overly salted and peppered! To top it all off, there is no sign outside and we spent 10 minutes looking for the place. We are from Montréal, and are regular visitors to Burlington, and its wonderful restaurant scene. We will not be returning to this one.

Hand crafted specialty sandwiches! Unique and varied with surprising combinations of interesting ingredients. Be prepared to wait… high quality doesn’t come quickly but you’ll be glad you did!

Maybe we went on a bad day, or maybe we ordered the wrong thing. We were back in Vermont visiting family, and drove by this place every day. We finally decided to stop in and try it, and shared a Vermont Turkey since we only wanted a light snack. 1st, it indeed took forever to make. We were the only ones in the restaurant and were not greeted because there was no one there. Finally, a guy across the hall saw us and came over. It took him at least 10 minutes to put some turkey, cheese, and mayo on 2 pieces of bread. 2nd, the sandwich sucked. All we got was mayo, turkey, cheese, tomato, and lettuce on store bought bread. It was a panini which is nice, but he pressed the lettuce into the sandwich so it was limp and warm. Like I said, maybe I ordered the wrong thing since a lot of other reviews are raving about the quality and creativity of the food. But then again, he owns the restaurant, so why would he have a sucky option on the menu? I order a «Vermont» type sandwich every chance I can, and his was truly the worst and least imaginative I’ve ever had. Go to Red Onion for an amazing grilled VT style sandwich. And whoever said this place has an amazing interior must have stopped by Citizen Cider for a few too many drinks first. The tables are bare and crowded together, the layout is like setting up a restaurant in the lobby of an office building, the kitchen is visibly dirty and cluttered, and the art work is disturbing on so many levels and just hung wherever it would fit on the wall. This guy also needs to attend a food handling class and get inspected by the state. I saw him rinse his hands multiple times with no soap, and pat them dry on his apron or a roll of paper towels.(Not a sheet from the roll, on the actual roll). I also saw him take money from one customer, then immediately turn around and start prepping another order without his half-a$$ed hand washing routine. So many good choices in Burlington, sad I squandered a meal here.

I’ve had a lot of sandwiches in my day. A LOT. So I was excited to try this place, but still skeptical: open maybe 4 hours a day, pricey & cash only, the owner purportedly the soup nazi of sandwiches. I tried the Lebanese Lamb($ 14). No idea what else would be on it, but I was told not to ask. When it was served up I thought it looked a bit small on 2 slices of bread. But one bite and HOLY&$!@! Best sandwich I have ever eaten, hands down. I still haven’t eaten the other half. I’m still savoring the taste of the first half.

This place has the best sandwiches that I have ever eaten! So far my favorite is the Hungarian beef. If you are a picky eater, tell him what you like/dislike, and he will accommodate you. Your best bet is to ask what he recommends. CASH only. Expect to spend about $ 12 each and don’t be in a big hurry.

I’ve been eating here for 8 years and I can’t praise these sandwiches enough. Everyone of them unique and original but most importantly… delicious. I usually order the Russian Salmon(for myself) and a Cuban Pork(for my wife) to go. And I get one of the local beers on tap while I wait. The beers change up a lot so I don’t always love the choices, but I can be a bit of a beer snob. Last time, the owner, Ladislav, suggested I try the Austrian Egg. Honestly he’s never steered me wrong. He’s a sandwich wizard.

Unfortunately the person making the sandwiches does not wearing any sort of gloves or wash his hands between touching poultry steak or wine. I sat at the bar and watched him make two sandwiches. He didn’t wash his hands before during or after. Instead he would touch a roll of paper towels. Not even take one a run off the raw meat. Needless to say I shouldn’t have eaten it but it cost $ 15 so I felt like I had to. Big mistake I got food poisoning and had to call out of work. Don’t take your chances with this place

Walking into the place, I had my doubts, as it looks like a dingy basement with a few grills. However, the food is out of this world. I had the Thai chicken sandwich, and while it was a little pricey at $ 10.25, it was amazing! Who would have thought that peanut butter, onions, pickles, mayo and chicken could make such a great flavor? The man who runs the place also makes the sandwiches, and he is friendly and willing to go over each sandwich with you. If you are looking for a great sandwich, this is the place to go!!! I have found my new favorite lunch joint.

This place by far has some of the best sandwiches ever! My friends and I tried 4DIFFERENT sandwiches and loved each one. Our favorites were the Korean kimchi and Cuban pork. The Iraqi chicken had a unique flavor to it but was still great nonetheless. Each sandwich is made with care and love. The chef really takes his time to make it perfect each time. Expect to wait at least 15 – 20 minutes for your sandwich, or even longer. One thing to note is that they DONOT take credit. They take cash only. Trust me, the sadnwichrs will be worth every penny!

This hole in the wall makes AMAZING sandwiches. I have been here twice and was amazing by the quality of the sandwiches. The owners and other sandwich makers are super friendly and will help you choose the variety of sandwiches. The owner puts a lot of work into the ingredients that goes into the sandwhiches. I got the Kimchi Sandwich both times and I was not disappointed. The owner makes their own kimchi, it is so flavorful! The inside is pretty dark and is filled with local artwork. This is a hidden gem and I’m glad my friends took me there!

I had the Lebanese Lamb and it was absolutely delicious. My husband had the Thai Chicken and we weren’t very impressed. My sandwich was definitely the winner between the two. Flavor-wise, my sandwich deserves a 5 and my husband’s deserves a 3. We were mostly disappointed with how seriously over priced these sandwiches were. Nearly $ 14 for mine and $ 11 for my husband’s is a bit outrageous for us(and we’re from Philly and used to paying city-dollar for food). All that said, I would return but only as a treat and not as an every week kind of thing.

Great sandwiches! Unique and hand tailored. You know there’s something special going on when the owner takes his time to make your sandwich personally. Good value for some great flavors. I’ve only tried about 4 different sandwiches here but they have all been great! I can’t wait to try the rest! A very unique, eclectic atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out!

This place is crazy good, but slow as shit. I really don’t know if it’s it worth it! It’s good… if you have enough patience of say 25 minutes, do it!

Went here after rave recommendations from my friend im visiting. I got the chicken thai sandwich and it didn’t disappoint, the pickles were nice and crunchy, chicken was seasoned nicely, lettuce and onions were fresh tasting. The staff there seemed ok and theres a decent amount of seating though you may have to squeeze by the counter seats to get to it. There is a slight wait time to get the food, mine was maybe 10 min., but this was after the lunch rush, still a bit of a delay. Also though these sandwiches are delish, you’re gonna pay for it. mine was a whopping $ 11 and change, no drink or chips or anything and they don’t take card! It’s not posted anywhere that I saw so be warned. I wish my friends would’ve mentioned that because I came up a little short, but they let it slide which was nice. If you want high quality sanwiches and a varied selection check it out. Just remember to bring cash and plenty of it.

This was probably the best sandwiches I’ve ever had, and the décor was fun. We got the Iraqi Turkey, Lebanese Lamb, and Jamaican Avocado with Turkey. The flavors were tremendous in all of them. The location is off the beaten path, but it worth the short walk from the downtown area. Additionally, it is located next door the Citizen Cider Cidery where they have a tasting flight. Great way to wash down the sandwich.

It took my like 20 minutes to find this place hidden in an office park. I got a sandwich here. I had no idea what it was in this sandwich. Pork and kimchi? It doesn’t matter. The sandwich changed my life. I feel like I can jump buildings. I can save lives. I can find love even? That sandwich was the answer to world peace.

A truly elevated sandwich experience. All other Cuban sandwiches will forever pale in comparison. So much love goes into the crafting of each sandwich. Prepare yourself for the 10 – 15 minute wait, this is not 7 – 11, you are in the company of culinary greatness. Let the photo tell you the rest.
