Frog Hollow holds a special place in my heart as a college friend worked here when she prematurely died from a blood clot. While she worked at the craft center and this is a retail shop, when I saw the awning sign I knew I had to stop and browse. It’s a store and everything is for sale. Do you want salad tongs for the kitchen? Do you want water-repellent art for the bathroom? Do you want metal robots for the walls? Do you want a wooden table for the living room? Frog Hollow has this and more.

Frog Hollow is a great place to find beautiful, handmade pieces in a wide price range. I love going there to just look at what’s new. You can often run into one of the local artists themselves dropping off their work and engage them in conversation, which is fun. They have everything from cards and suncatchers to photography, paintings, and furniture. The staff is wonderful too and very knowledgeable about the artists. Not many people are aware that Frog Hollow is a nonprofit organization that supports VT artists and promotes art education, but they get no money from the state. A great business to support!

A nice collection of Vermont arts and crafts but not too many pieces I found especially stunning. Nevertheless, it was really good to see local artists work so easily accessible to tourists and shoppers.

I wasn’t certain what to expect on our first visit. My wife, baby and I were walking on Church Street and she suggested we go in. I am excited that she wanted to. I was lost in a world of art. Photography, paints, wood working, metal, furniture, ceramics… and much more. Finally my wife had to come to me and snap me out of my Vermont-local-artist-creativity induced trance. I will go back! Love it!

Frog Hollow displays and sells eclectic crafts, sculpture, photographs, jewelry, and other works by local artists and artisans. It’s always interesting to look around, great for gifts if you don’t mind spending the money, and can be inspiring if you yourself are an artist. I’m all about supporting the local economy, and — as an amateur-artist-wanna-be — I really really believe in supporting local artists. I plan on buying a few Christmas gifts here, and would come back for special gifts for birthdays, etc. If you are going to be on Church Street anyway, or if you are looking for a really unique gift, Frog Hollow is certainly worth a visit.

I don’t think too highly of the Church Street Marketplace, but Frog Hollow is a great spot to sample a moderately overpriced array of Vermont artisan crafts and kitsch. It’s essentially a gift shop, but the selection is of great quality and diversity. It’s worth checking out if you need to bring authentic Vermont gifts to out-of-state friends and relations.
