Food was good, service not so much. I don’t like the fact that when asked about a dinner special was asked about, just as dinner hours started, they said they only had the one(another customer ordered it). It was a blatant lie, it’s fine, not mad, I just will stop eating here.

This place is a gem. The owner works the front, talks to customers, cooks, and has a hand in everything. He is a gentleman who treats his staff as well as his customers. Everything he prepares is fresh and more times than not, acquired locally. A mixture of both classic and creative dishes will leave you with many tough decisions to make. From the salads to the appetizers to the entrees you can’t go wrong with any choice. But, save room for dessert because it is prepared in-house with great care. The tiramisu is heavenly! When you’re done and ready for your check, you’ll be surprised at all you’ve gotten for a very reasonable price. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

It was date night with another couple on our way to a play at the phenomenal STUDIO1(side note)! We wanted to go to a rival Italian restaurant, but they were too busy… our GAIN! Prago’s Trattoria was in an old drive-thru restaurant. But walking in and sitting down, I felt that I was in a little café in Italy. Small table for 4 that was intimate and made conversation easy! They got our drink order quickly and brought bread and friend polenta cubes, all very good. The traveling menu board was an added plus… with many tasty options. As a group we ordered the calamari and oysters, both delicious. The red sauce with the calamari had a slight bite and was as good as it gets. The appetizers came out in a timely manner. We all ordered an entrée and got to talking and drinking. We looked at our watch and realized we had 5 minutes to get to our play… so we called the waiter over and he checked on our order and said it was being plated next. And… then there our dinner was. It was delicious. I ordered the fried green tomato salad. I am new to the south and now I finally see what a friend green tomato is supposed to taste like. :) Everyone else was very pleased and happy with their meal. I will be back, I’ll bring my family and try something different… as long as I get a fried green tomato!

First time at Prego’s for lunch on 1÷29÷16. What a wonderful experience. Great lunch menu with several specials available. My wife and I had the risotto rice stuffed peppers. Outstanding. The rest of the menu has all your favorites. The service was personal and excellent. In addition to bread they gave us a dish of fried polenta with olive oil dipping. If you want an authentic Italian restaurant, give Prego’s a good look. I’ve put Prego’s into my GPS to guide me there when I am back in the area.

Huge fan of Prego’s. Everything tastes so fresh, so well made. I’ve always found the service to be excellent. This is pretty much the best Italian you can get in the Burlington area. Prices are a touch on the higher end compared to other local Italian spots, but the quality in food is absolutely worth it.

Had lunch there Saturday and I have to say it was the best Italian food I have ever had! Real authentic Italian down to the thick Italian accent our waiter had! Loved that they started you with complementary fried polenta(out of this world amazing!!) and fresh bread! I am A true foodie and this place is on the top of my list! I had the veal Marsala that was served with sautéed vegetables(wish it had fettuccine alfredo instead) will be requesting that next time. And my dad had one of the lunch specials, the homemade cannelloni which was fantastic! It was a delicious meal down to the pumpkin tart for dessert And a true cappuccino!

Prego’s was recommended to me by a friend and I was expecting more of an Olive Garden, but was pleasantly surprised! The food was so good! My friend got the gnocchi and I got the carbonara and both were delicious and authentic. The environment is very nice too and service was fantastic. I also highly recommend the sangria. I’ll be coming back for sure.

Love this place. Been going there for years. Great for a business lunch or a special occasion. Great food. Good price. Cool wines that you don’t see other places… and best of all a very professional/knowledgeable waitstaff(a rare thing in the Triad). Open for lunch and dinner. I like the patio when the weather is good.

Dined here last January and there were only a few other couples. Waiter mistook my friend as a significant other which was quite awkward. Besides the service, the food is amazing for being located in Burlington. I had the penne Alla vodka and it was served with the typical ziti pasta and was perfect. My friend has a steak dish, which he said was fine. They have a good wine list.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful the food and the wait staff are at Prego’s. The food is always cooked to perfection and the variety of items on the daily menu never disappoint. The sweet tea is to die for with the shaved lemon ice on top and did I mention the desserts. My advice don’t eat too much or wear stretchy pants so you can savor the desserts at the end of your meal. Perfecto! The wait staff always make you feel welcomed and at home when you arrive. We have been there so often that the staff feel more like family. It’s hard to find great Italian food in the South, but this hits the spot. If only my paycheck was larger, then I could dine here every night.

Dinner tonight at Prego’s was well… underwhelming at best. The service was turtle like in it’s slowness with no apologies from the waiter. When we finally ordered it took forever to receive the cold empanadas appetizer, which were supposed to be hot. Dinner was actually pretty good, but it took forever to be served. Prego’s is definitely one of the best restaurants in Burlington and most of the time pretty good. Tonight was just not up to par.

Ok, I hate giving terrible reviews but the food here is just so awful. I didn’t think it was possible for Italian food to be so bland… but people please come to Prego’s if you want to experience it first hand. I only give such a terrible review because there are so many better options for Italian restaurants in Burlington. The only reason they received two stars instead of one is because the servers were kind and attentive.

I have visited Prego’s several times. It is hit or miss, mostly miss. Food is on the side of being flavorless. The seating is very tight and cramped. Service is great. The entry way can become very crowded and if you are sitting by the door, you can become quite chilled with people waiting to be seated holding the door open. I have visited it enough times to know not to visit again.

I go to Elon and have visited Prego’s many times over the years. It used to be one of my favorite places until recently. The last two times I went have been a disaster; horrible service, over-salted and over-sauced dishes, and the whole meal took 2.5 hours because the kitchen is so slow. The worst part is, I went to Prego’s last night and am currently awake at 3:22 am with quite possibly the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had. And from gnocchi! That’s so hard to screw up. I will not be eating at Prego’s ever again.

Wonderful food! Get there early and make reservations because it is packed. Service is the best! It’s kind of different in that you don’t have a set server. Every server is there to get you anything you need. I just hate it took us this long to find this gem of a restaurant!

Drove here from Greensboro at the recommendation of a friend. DON“T BOTHER! We were all shocked that the food was given such good reviews. If you want authentic Italian tomato sauce, can/jar sauce is better than this. I don’t know what they did to the sauce but it was pale orange and not a rich red color. It was tasteless and did not resemble good italian gravy, as my italian friends call it. l did notice other diners were not having any of the dishes that came with italian marinara sauce or italian gravy. What a waste of gas and money. They bring fried polenta cubes to your table with italian bread. I asked the waiter what it was. The owner’s son said the family hails from Sicily by way of Ecuador. Don’t Sicilians make real rich tomato sauce? BLAHHH!!!

After all the great reviews, we had to try this place. Unfortunately, both entrees were disappointing. Veal milanese was over cooked cutlets with a bad chopped salad on top. My companions veal saltimoca was over cooked but he said had a great taste. Wine that was suggested was quite delicious. Appetizer was huge and tasty– hot app platter. And cannoli was very good. Service was on point but I was so disappointed in entrees.
