Sassys Hard Pond Cafe

This place was just meh. I ordered an omelet and it wasn’t what it was supposed to be. She said she’d discount our check (which she never did). A word of advice DO NOT order the biscuits and gravy. They were obviously premade (probably from Sysco or something) horrendous tasting. I tasted them after my husband said that had to be one of the most disgusting things he’s tasted. And he was right down right awful.
They served our food on large plastic platters instead of traditional plates (I THINK they were trying to go for whimsical) these platters were far too large for the amount of food that was presented. Regular glass plates would be sufficient.
All in all my meal was ok and my husband’s was very disappointing. The level of cooking going on here is very amateurish. There is nothing on this menu that teenagers couldn’t make.
We will not go back.

I drove all the way there from Racine to check the place out and it was worth it. The place has a cozy kitschy feel like an old fashioned diner. There are vinyl record and funny signs on the walls, and an old Liz Taylor movie on the old television. The staff was very friendly and was served quickly. I had one of their half pound burgers which was very fresh and juicy and reasonably priced (only 6.95). The same thing would be at least 9.99 anywhere else. I was a little disappointed they dont offer any steak on the menu (i really wanted steak and eggs) but perhaps they will in the future. I didnt feel rushed which is great. The waitress didnt bring the check til i was done. I recommend everyone give sassy’s a try.

Loved the Friday fish fry the Walleye was fantastic. I was stuffed and still had leftovers to take home. My mom and girlfriend loved the cod. Can’t wait to try the breakfast.

Drove by today and noticed the signage changed. Sassy’s Café. We’ll be going to give it a try then we’ll re-​rate.

Skip it. Waitresses never came to wait on us.
They were not that busy. Waitresses talking and not waiting on customers. We got up and left after 15 minutes.
No food came out of the kitchen while we waited to get service.
I even told the social butterfly waitress but she totally ignored the comment.
Sad that people put money into a business to soon face closing due to poor management.
