Was craving a burger and the closest place was Smitty’s. We stood there for several mins before seating ourselves. We were waiting a few minutes before the waitress came over. And there were not many people there. We ordered sodas, not knowing they were 3 dollars a piece for fountain soda! The fried pickles were good. The burgers were good enough to satisfy the craving, but honesty, nothing to write home about. But this place is extremely over priced. We could have gotten better food at Five Guys for less. We will not be back. Oh, and the flies everywhere kind of sucked.

Been to Smitty’s three times now and every visit has been great. Smitty’s is conveniently located just off the Burlington bike path so we usually ride here from S Burlington 17.6 miles round trip. Smitty’s has a bike rack and outdoor patio. The food is pub bar food except better. The past few weeks I have noticed them serving Lobster dishes. My favorite burger so far is the Arod burger, has a little zip to it. I met the owner Smitty for the first time yesterday, great guy, I felt like i have known him for years. The guy cares about the business and it shows in the quality of the food and warm customer service. I will definitely be back. Notable mention: Smitty used to be a WWE professional wrestler, pretty cool!

Today, my friend and I both ordered a fish taco to go. I have ordered this on many prior occasions. Today there were just a couple small pieces of fried fish on top of a taco. There was no lettuce, tomatoes, or the usual shredded and tangy cabbage mix that used to come in the pre-made taco. There was a small dish of nearly pureed coleslaw without much flavor. On the menu from March, the fish tacos were $ 9.99. Today, they were $ 10.99. The menu used to say fries or sweet potato fries for an additional dollar. I did not have the new menu with me, so we got the fries. The total for 2 orders of a couple of lumps of fried fish, a small condiment container of flavoring & a tiny bit of salsa(also without flavor) was $ 31.99. I am still in shock. The food was subpar, there was nothing available to actually make my own taco, and the coleslaw was tasteless. The fries were exorbitant, and soggy. What a wasteful and disappointing lunch. This is the last time I will make this mistake. I even took the meals back, as I was so surprised. I was told that they had changed. Well, I can assure you that it was not the right change. I was terribly disappointed.

I’ve been here a few times for wings on Sundays, and other times to get drinks with friends. My first experience there was fantastic! When I stepped foot inside, I was greeted by Smitty the owner of the pub who is super nice, and very welcoming. He served us drinks, and made conversation to keep us entertain for the majority of the night. It was a little before 10pm, and I tried ordering some appetizers, but we didn’t know the kitchen was getting ready to close. Smitty was kind enough to walk into the back kitchen, and ask his kitchen staff whom were at the time wrapping up and cleaning the kitchen to make us some sweet potato fries. The fries arrived, and it was delicious! Needless to say, I will continue to come back to this pub in the future!

Smitty’s is good, solid family fare in a mellow sports bar atmosphere. Burgers, sandwiches, salads. Full bar. Owner Ed Smith(Smitty himself, whose Alfred Hitchcock style profile graces the sign) is the nicest bartender this side of Lake Champlain. Nothing fancy, but I’ve never had a bad meal here. Friendly service, too.

I have been here on a few occasions. Nice patio. Better than average pub food. Daily specials that are not just run of the mill. Good for the whole family with plenty of TVs if you like to watch some sports. My only suggestion is that they figure out the whole hostess/seating thing. We had to wait longer than you would expect to get seated at a table. It is probably the best sit down restaurant in all of the new north end of Burlington ;-)

Great place for football Sunday. Wings and beers and nice atmosphere. Smitty’s is a great guy and fun to be around. The food is pub style which is fine. When I watch football I’m not expecting a 4 stars meal. The patio in the front is perfect to enjoy fall sunny weather. It is a nice neighborhood bar to enjoy if you like sports.

I like Smitty’s, it’s a friendly neighborhood restaurant bar that is great for times with family and friends, I often see a wide variety of ages here. The food is good, your basic American pub style fare with lots of burgers, but also other items, I particularly like the Cesar chicken wrap and the sweet potato fries. The place has always seemed friendly and welcoming to me and I have never experienced an issue with being seated or with the service at all. There are plenty of TV’s so it does have a little bit of a sports bar vibe(front is a bar and the restaurant section has lots of comfortable booths where you can still see the screens) and would be a good place to watch a game. I wanted to write a review because the other reviews seemed a little unfairly negative to me.

Lackluster food. Service was good. Drink deals are the only thing that really stand out. Limited number of beers on tap. We ordered margaritas but not sure exactly what we got… Nachos were below average. Just cheese tomatoes and sour cream. Overall, smitty’s was nothing to write home about, but i thought wait staff was more than friendly and accommodation ing.

I ate at Smitty’s last night… Philly cheese steak and fries were very good. The triumph those were the fried green beans. New Orleans spicy, crisp… they were excellent. A couple of people with me were hesitant to try them, but ended up finishing off the basket. They were a real treat which I would highly recommend.

Best little secret in the New North End. When it used to be Norms there was the feeling that you were bothering the staff just by showing up. Not so anymore. Ed and his staff really seem to enjoy serving the hungry and thirsty North Enders that show up on a regular basis. Good pub fare and a fun crowd can be found here. Thanks for giving those of us who live in the North End a local bar we can really enjoy.
