It’s divey and I like that. But in the middle of winter the guy checking IDs kept the door open the whole time! It was cold inside all night. Decent bar with good service and good selection… But come on it’s VT in winter. Don’t keep the door open. I’m a Vermonter and I still found it chilly.

Great neighborhood joint. Some call T Rugg’s a «dive bar», however I have always found it to be clean, cheap and friendly. When with the wife on Church Street and she is shopping, I enjoy the stroll down to Elmwood Ave for a couple of cold drafts before returning to «downtown». Certainly not a tourist destination, but I prefer a real down-to-earth tavern — and T Rugg’s fits that bill for me.

A great little neighborhood dive bar! A nice stop to just grab a drink and watch sports games, or mingle with friends. The bartenders are super friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. The prices for drinks are decent with the portion they serve you. There’s a pool table, and darts to keep you busy if you aren’t watching the sports games on the TV. All in all, a nice neighborhood bar to come hangout with friends, and meet new people.

After ordering prior drinks and playing pool(not a free table) I was carded by a female bartender. She looked deeply at my NJ identification card(10/23/1991) and asked for other identification. I don’t normally carry my passport so I handed her all I had(visa, and other various cards) and in front of a rude bar crowd she mocked my license told me I looked like I as twelve and stated that she hated me. I wouldn’t come here ever again as a resident of this city.

T-Ruggs is a great local spot; perfect to just grab a drink or watch a Bruins, Red Sox or Patriots game. The bartenders are friendly and the atmosphere is great. They have an outdoor patio which is very chill.

Nice little neighbourhood bar in the historic North End of Burlington. Crossed the threshold on a Monday afternoon and was greeted with a look you’d expect to get for walking into a stranger’s living room and expelling gas loudly. I expect I was probably the first patron to visit in the last 6 months that lives more than 3 blocks away. Cheap, cold Buds, open pool table and I was even treated to a few complimentary jukebox plays by a Bob Seger enthusiast. I much prefer The Olde Northender a few blocks further down on North St., but I’ll take T. Rugg’s over the downtown UVM scene any day.

Decent dive bar in the ONE. The bartender, Turk, knew what he had on hand, that the beer out of the taps was a little warm at the moment because of cooler issues, and recommended bottled instead. Very professional and fast paced service. I’ll go back.

Greatest Burlington dive bar ever. Darts and pool table, cheap cheap drinks and surly bartenders. Don’t mess with Turk. Rugg’s is an Old North End institution. It is one of the bars that my dad went to back in the day, their family knows our family going back generations, and you don’t have to worry about running into the Red Square crowd. The back patio is nice, but because of the neighbors, you can’t be out there after ten. T. Rugg’s is the bar where everyone is welcomed and nobody is treated any better or worse than anybody else. When you feel like getting hammered and knowing that nobody will care, go to Rugg’s. When you don’t want the hassle of the bar«scene,» go to Rugg’s. When you don’t want to deal with arrogance and pretension, go to Rugg’s. When your drinking money has dwindled to less than $ 20, go to Rugg’s.
