What a unexpected wonderful place to stay in. The hosts do a fabulous job of making you feel like you’re part of the family. The exceptional welcoming and make a delicious breakfast. Order the French toast, the best I’ve ever tried. The rooms are wonderful, we stayed in the one with the fire place and it was very romantic. There really was nothing I can say negative about our stay. Everything was wonderful from the hosts, the bed, the price, the town. Highly recommend this for a quick weekend gateway with your significant other. Oh and it’s pet friendly under 25 pounds which is a huge plus.

The BEST B&B ever! I just can’t say enough fantastic things about theThe Lily Inn. They go the extra mile in every way and provide the best customer service. We stayed in the Suite and it was perfect (very clean and extremely comfortable bed)! We especially loved sitting outside on the awesome terrace. The location cannot be beat! The breakfast items were plentiful and very yummy!

Our stay at The Lily Inn was beyond amazing. My boyfriend and I stayed in the Lydia Richie room and very much enjoyed the plush bed and the whirlpool tub that my tall boyfriend could actually fit in!
The proprietors, Murray and Gene, were very hospitable and great with conversation. Murray is very well versed in the history of the area and has plenty of interesting stories to share. It was very easy and I felt very comfortable asking for anything we needed. There were always m&ms in the kitchen and coffee and tea for any time of day.
The best part? Breakfast, of course! Murray is a superior cook and though I sadly did not take the advice of the other reviewers as far as the French toast was concerned, I still found my breakfast to be delicious and filling.
Rest assured, we will definitely return to The Lily Inn!

I loved everything about The Lily Inn. The proprietors are wonderful and make you feel right at home (Don’t miss Murray’s French toast for breakfast!). The restoration they made to the historic building was beautifully done and still manages to maintain a great old-​world feel while offering all the conveniences you could possibly need. The location is ideal – central and steps away from everything this adorable town has to offer. I can’t wait to stay here again!

I again stayed at the Lily, this time without my husband (although with friends). I was staying non-​contiguous days (2 days, a gap, then another day) and Murray was flexible and found ways to make it work. When my flight to Philadelphia was delayed (getting in at 11pm rather than 5pm) he gave me his cell # and said to call him when I was close to Burlington. (A friend staying there picked me up, and had the key to my room, which worked just as well). The food was wonderful, as was the breakfast conversation. Comfortable rooms and a wonderful dog, it was a pleasurable experience yet again.

Agreed– a hidden gem among all of the chain hotels along the turnpike. Short drive off of 95. Super clean and a surprising bit of history that the Host will love to share with you. Breakfast was made to order. Bed was cozy!
Nothing to do around here though so don’t come looking for a decent meal after breakfast. Options are non existent.

What a fabulous Inn! Thank you to Jean, Murray, and adorable Harold for a fabulous stay. The Inn couldn’t have been more charming and everything was perfect! If you’re a neat/​cleanliness freak like myself, do not worry. Everything was spotless! The little downtown area is adorable and many restaurants and convenience stores are in walking distance. Breakfast was superb and the bacon was perfectly crisp. You will not be disappointed when you stay here! Hugs!

What a pleasant surprise! This is the best B&B I have ever been to. The hosts are excellent and welcoming. Outstanding breakfast. Clean and well appointed. Slept like a baby on the clean sheets and comfortable bed. This is the Ritz Carlton of B&Bs.

The Lilly Inn is a hidden gem. The couple who owns the inn, Jean and Murray, are the nicest and most welcoming people. They were truly happy to host us as guests. The inn itself is spotless, beautiful and cozy. The breakfast is delicious too. Best B&B I have ever stayed at.

We found the Lily Inn by accident and were amazed at the experience. Jean and Murray are great hosts and the Inn is delightful. Our room had a beautiful antique four poster bed while the bathroom was ultramodern. We would love to have one like it in our home. Just getting the fascinating history of Burlington from Murray while sitting in the living room was worth the trip. We enjoyed the visit so much that on our next trip to Newark in a few weeks we are driving the 75 miles down to the Lily Inn to spend the night. It was the best B&B we have visited (among many)!
