A mediocre addition to a mediocre corner of the mall. For a place employing an inattentive teenage mallrat type, the prices sure are steep. And completely illogical. One truffle? 1.25. Fine, that’s a decent price. You want four truffles in a box? Well, that’ll run you 6 bucks. Wait, what? 4×1.25 should be 5 bucks. And usually you get a discount for ordering larger quantities of things like truffles. So instead, we went with a piecemeal arrangement of other confections, including chocolate covered orange, a haystack, and a couple of others. Those came in a complimentary box for a per pound price of 17 dollars. Then we ordered 4 truffles at 1.25 each and had him put them in the box. Saved a dollar there. Anyway, totally illogical, totally mediocre, bad service. I’d never come back.

Ppphhheeewwww, Truffles to the rescue on Cupid’s Arrow Day! Directly across from Rainforest Café in the Burlington Mall is a quaint candy shop with fairly high end decadence in abundance. I had walked almost the entire mall and felt let down by what I was finding to get my loved one something nice for Valentine’s Day. Lame balloons from a fly by night cart in the middle of the mall? Nah. Mid-range chocolates from Hallmark? Not my thing. High end confectionaries from this tiny store? DINGDINGDING! Yes, I was shocked to see the items in the case were $ 30/lb but after loading up a box that was about 4″ x 6″, I was happy with the selections I received and only ended up spending $ 17 on a completely filled carton ranging from decadent dark chocolate truffles to white chocolate covered cherries to milk chocolate coated clumps of potato chips. The lady assisting me pick out the products was knowledgeable as well as patient as I took almost five minutes to ensure I filled the box with things she would like. I don’t know what the other reviewer is referring to when it came to cleanliness here, they were picked out of the case by sheets of parchment paper from what I can remember. And the best part, my valentine loved it all! The cherry gooed out on the couch but other than that, everything was spectacular. My favorite was the milky coconut cluster, it was by far the most massive piece in the box and exudes the perfect crunch and flavor profile. I uploaded a few pictures of the store and the case of yums, I hope you can see at least some of the examples posted. I had never noticed this store before but will remember it for sure now as it was a massive lifesaver for this procrastinating love bird.

Went into the store for a birthday gift the week heading into Valentines Day… Watched the associate unload an entire tray of truffles out of the boxes into the case with their bare hands… Ever heard of gloves in the food industry. I was completely disgusted and horrified. Walked right back out. Maybe my next call should be to the board of health.
