When i called for my heater to be repaired I told the receptionist where I lived, it is a well known subdivision. I asked how much it would cost for a repairman to come out and she said it would be $ 89, and then she started to say, «but…» I said, «but what?» and she said, «Oh nothing, it will be $ 89′» The repairman, Bill, was professional and knowledgeable albeit he was 45 minutes late. He did call me though and let me know that he was on his way. He diagnosed the issue, and then tried to tell me that I should buy a whole new unit. He said that it would cost $ 647.00 to repair the unit and that whenever the cost to repair is over $ 500 on an older unit it is time to replace. I got a list of the parts and said that i would order them. He said that it would take a maximum of an hour and a half to install at $ 89 and hour. so say $ 120.00 and the cost of parts. I ordered the parts for a grand total of $ 110.00…so their markup on parts is approximately 500%. When payment was due he told me that there was a $ 20.00 «trip» fee. I refused to pay based on the quote, and it was waived. PROS: professional, knowledgeable CONS very high priced, may be hidden fees make sure you ask up front
