Before reading the rest of this just know that all fro-yo taste the same to me. I come back for the convenience, the awesome toppings selection, and because of the price. One of the few places that offer mochi as a topping. Fresh toppings, and great selection of fro-yo. It’s a set price for a small fro-yo with up your choice of three toppings it’s about $ 5.

Red mango. Delish. I love the pumpkin spice yogurt here. So good. As well as original and pomegranate. I get yogurt chips and captn crunch in my yogurt. Just delicious.

Well… uh… errr…(scratching my freshly washed head of hair with Nexus treatment), I am… on the fence? with my plain tart and Pom swirl small froyo? Either the machine was misbehaving that day, or the person prepping the ingredients was too distracted by discussing the latest on Glee, but the yogurt was just too icy, and not creamy enough. This ‘just ok in my book’ yogurt that has other branches(LA) is located on the first floor of Burnsville Center(mall).{aside: Burnsville is a suburb about 15 mins SW of the airport, just ‘under’ Bloomington(Mall of America) and about 20 mins south of downtown MPLS.} Do not go frolicking in the lower level food court as I did…(for females: psst! It’s across from Victoria’s Secret). The overall impression and taste were really quite average. For the price of a small, the server sure did underserve me. Think there was more empty space in the actual cup than there was any frozen dairy substance… luckily, though I came expressly for the froyo experience(on a sweltering MN day), I found an awesome scrub sale, and helped myself to the zero sales tax. Nice, ‘homely’ mall in the burbs that feels more cozy and echoes ‘family’ more than any glitz or architectural glam.

Coming from the MD/VA/DC area there are many options for frozen yogurt in the nations capital. Moving to Minnesota I found Red Mango here is the only option. Having had Red Mango in NYC, my expectations were very high. Red Mango is noted to have fresh ingredients and to pile on the toppings. However, at this location none of the fruit was fresh. They were all drowning in sugary syrup and looked straight out of a can. When receiving the toppings on my frozen yogurt(I got mango, mochi and blackberries) I was only given literally 5 pieces of mango, 4 mochi, and 3 blacberries. Extremely confused on the other half of my toppings that the little high school girl missed out on, I asked her«Can you add more?» Her response was… «Actually~ They’re portion controlled» in the most valley-girl voice ever and then proceeded to give me that look as if I just insulted her family’s honor. I will NEVER come here again. What ever happened to «The customer is always right»?? Besides the poor service, the fruit was not fresh. The only upside was that the yogurt itsself was decent, given that there really is no way to mess up yogurt when it’s delivered to you from wherever Red Mango corporate mixes/delivers it’s yogurt out of.

The only Red Mango in the state of Minnesota is in Burnsville Center, BURNSVILLE Center! Who knew? How did this happen? Somone has been praying to the fro-yo gods. Was it you Joyce L? I am shocked. People of the south metro, do not mess this up. Get in your car and go now, go and eat fat free frozen yogurt so tart and delicious with a myriad of toppings from fresh blackberries, mango chunks, almonds and coconut to the humble sprinkling of Captain Crunch. I don’t recommend that, but you could have it if you wanted. Go and enjoy, you are in for a guilt-free treat. I’m just relieved that I no longer have to drive to IKEA for the $ 1 fro-yo cone or sneak into Lee Ann Chin fending off the cream cheese wontons and kung pao chicken for their Red Cherry fro-you knock-off. Thank-you Red Mango. I love you.

Red Mango, you complete me! We moved here from CA3 months ago disappointed to find that there are no real fro yo places in the Mlps-St. P area! Much to my surprise as I was walking around Burnsville Center with my son, I saw a Red Mango. Convinced that I was seeing a mirage and was delusional from fro yo withdrawal, I walked over there to make sure it was real. Thank the good Lord it was! In fact, they just opened today! So, my son and I shared(though he ate 90% of it) an original tart with blueberries and raspberries. So yummy – I savored my 10%. Thank you, Red Mango for bringing some CA sunshine to MN in the form of fro-yo!!!
