What a surprising treat this place is! We decided to have dinner to celebrate the culmination of a long stretch of hard work and I’m so glad we took a chance on Maite. Our server, Ciara, was sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable — I also loved how after she delive our drinks we were about to toast so she swerved past the table to give us the moment(nicely done). Service was great, ambiance was cute(love the décor and open kitchen). We had the burrata negra(gorgeous dish), the rabbit ragu, and I had the burger with a deep-fried soft-boiled egg(slamming!). The food was very well made, burger cooked perfectly to temp, and the value was on point! We will definitely be coming thru again. You should to!

Don’t listen to any of the negative reviews on here. This is one restaurant that doesn’t deserve anything less than four stars. My wife and I have frequented this place since it opened and have never had anything short of an amazing meal. The food, the service, and the drinks never disappoint us. If you get bad service here, it’s probably because you’re an asshole, not your waiter or waitress. They’re also very kid friendly, we tend to go before the dinner rush with our three year old, and the staff never makes us feel like we’re not welcome, which actually happens from time to time elsewhere. Maite has a warm and welcoming atmosphere no matter if you have kids or not, and the music is always on point. As for the food? I typically hate olives, with a passion, but Maite’s olive plate has converted my taste buds. I highly recommend getting them as a bar snack or appetizer. I’ve honestly never had a bad meal here. Hats off to the chef and her staff! If you’re a fan of savory comfort food, you can’t go wrong. If I saw a Cat Turd sandwich on the menu, I have enough faith in the chef that I’m pretty sure I’d enjoy eating that shit! We once got a blueberry fiddlehead salad that my wife still can’t stop talking about almost a year later. You can ask her what I got her for Christmas a year ago, and she’ll take a few minutes to remember, but if you ask her about that blueberry fiddlehead salad? She will go into great detail with sincere passion. It was pretty amazing! We’ve had so many memorable meals here. In the ten years we’ve been living in the neighborhood, we’ve seen an influx of restaurants and people that have changed the face of Bushwick. Maite honestly is the best addition amongst the others. We hope for their success, so please support them with your business. Side note: the Concord grape margarita needs to be on the regular drink menu. I don’t think I can wait much longer for that drink to be in season again.

Not sure if I’m ready to talk about how good this meal was. Started with the big, fat olives and a few of their specialty cocktails — yum. Moved on to the buratta — beautiful on the inside and outside … did not disappoint. For dinner, I got the burger — they customized it as I’m not a fan of runny egg yolk — went with crispy fried egg on top. Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had… maybe even THE best. My friend went with the rabbit ragu — that was also perfect. We were both really full half way through the meal but ended up basically licking our plates clean. Great ambiance: dimly lit, friendly service, open kitchen — the ultimate sign of «our food is so good we feel confident enough to cook it in front of you.» Perfect spot for date night or a night out with a friend. Went on a Saturday night and sat at the bar. Would recommend to anyone and will go back a million times.

Food is great! I had the gnocchi, lamb and empanadas. Gnocchi is awesome. Lamb is pretty good. Empanadas are great. Different from other empanadas I’ve had, but still really great in taste and texture. Good wines and beers. Awesome milk stout. I sat at the bar both times. Bar tenders and wait staff were great. Friendly and low key.

Get the burger. Holy sh! t get the burger. I DEVOURED mine in about 2 minutes. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had — the crispy egg that topped it was certainly unique and added a great flavor. Additionally the fries, while too short to eat comfortably as finger food were amazing. Judging from my friend literally finger licking the plate for the fish stew clean, their other offerings are equally delicious. In terms of service, our waitress, Sierra, was fantastically friendly, patient, and helpful. The décor here is comfortable and intimate and the music choice for our evening was a great Latin beat. Overall comfortable, delicious, and friendly!

What can I say but AWESOME! We started with drinks. I had the Brooklyn Bound made with Mezcal, grapefruit, Brooklyn Honey and mint. Excellent! Olive Plate, nice selection, a bit of herbs and spices, yum! We shared the Empanada… OMG…I don’t know how the curst can be so crispy and fluffy at the same time! They were packed with shortribs, melted in my mouth, served with salsa that I can’t quite put my finger on what exactly made it so damn good! For dinner I had the Ribeye Medium Rare. Was probably the most flavorful steak I have ever had! Tender, Juicey, Seasoned and cooked to PERFECTION! I am an A1 girl… no need for that when you have a steak from Ella! It came with an Arepa and melted Farmers Mozzarella, a bite of Heaven! I love some veggies so I ordered the Seasonal Carrots. So glad I did! Tri-colored roasted carrots, and they were glazed but not sticky or sweet, natural carrot sweetness. There was some delicious sauce that we dip up with crusty garlic bread! For dessert I had the Dolce Cream… put me over the edge! Our bartender Johnny was fantastic! Watching him in action was a work of art! A true Professional! Staff was OUTSTANDING! The place is just BEAUTIFUL! I will definitely be coming back for more! Thank you Ella and Kano!!!

Probably could be a five star place, but I think my tastes are a bit too pedestrian to get the most out of this place. I got the burger, which I loved in theory. When I sliced into the egg on top and the yolk ran all over the meat I thought I saw god. And they use steak trimmings in it, so it’s not your average burger. But alas, my love for the simple perfection that is the burger at Onderdonk and sons is unwavering.(And about half the price!) Nice atmosphere though, good servers, and you can tell they use high quality ingredients and put thought into their dishes. I’d be interested in trying the lamb, fish, or maybe pasta. Not a fan of the menu only being on a chalk board though, I like one in print, but I get that they are trying to emphasize that they use fresh, seasonal ingredients that change often.

Great neighborhood spot with tasty food and fantastic atmosphere! The menu changes often and is always really good. The service was terrific! Wish their menu was available printed as well, as it is kind of hard to read from a far or in certain spots of the restaurant(i could not see it very well and had to rely on my husband to read for me :)

Food: 5 stars Service: 2 – 3 stars Came here on a Sunday night and the restaurant was mostly full but there were a few tables open so we didn’t have to wait. The waitress came right away to tell us about their chalkboard menus. From there, the service was all downhill. We had to flag her down to give our drink orders, a bartender tried to give us someone else’s drink, then must have waited 10 minutes or so before we got our beers. We had no plates or utensils for our appetizer. Then a runner took away our plates and asked us if we were all done with our meal before we had gotten our entrees. Seemed like no one knew what was going on… That said, the food was great. I had the taleggio gnocchi with cauliflower and shiso. I don’t hyperbolize; it was the best gnocchi of my life. I’m not usually impressed by gnocchi but it was so light, fluffy, and cheesy. Literally like a cloud of potato and cheese. The empanaditas were crispy and came with a yummy spicy aji sauce. They were kind of light on the filling though. The sea bass was well cooked but the flavor wasn’t anything special. Not sure what was going on with the service but I’d still go back.

This picture does absolutely no justice to this burger… Top 1 or 2 burger I’ve ever had in my life and you know I like my burgers! In fact, the entire meal from beginning to end was about as perfect as you can get. If your visit NYC, make sure to jump on the M and visit this amazing restaurant in Bushwick! #FoodPorn #HoorayBurgers

I usually come here by myself on Sunday nights. It’s never too busy then and really chill to sit at the bar. Johnny(bartender) is really nice and great to chat with. Their drinks are ok point and interesting. Great selection of wine and liquors, too. Food-wise so far I’ve had the burger and the pizza. The burger was probably the tastiest ground beef I have ever had! The pizza is really tasty, too. Though rather small. All in a this is easily my favorite restaurant in the area. Give it a try!

I don’t get this place. U walk in and sit down, then they tell you there are no menus because it changes daily so you have to look at a chalkboard across the room to see the items(super annoying when you’re a table of 7). The menu is also hard to distinguish which items are which and what is included in them. They said its Eco friendly and laziness but it feels more like the latter bcuz it’s very annoying as a customer to not have a menu. Server was a very nice dude. It was very hot, the AC was not on point I was breaking a sweat most of the meal and my friends were complaining. The prices were alarmingly high for bushwick. I got $ 18 gnocchi which included 9 gnocchi. That’s $ 2 for a ball of average very average gnocchi(#math). Also not enough food for a hungry person. I told the waiter about all this, not that I expected anything to happen it’s just kind of the DNA of the establishment I guess, but he told me the prices were high because of fresh local ingredients and didn’t discuss why the portions were not sufficient(I shudder to think what the appetizers are like.) Also no response for why it’s so hot in here for a «nice» restaurant. He brought us desserts(aka a singular chocolate truffle for each person) and then told us they can only take 4 cards to split bill(which was fine but kind of annoying that they wouldn’t accommodate if it were). Anyway, clearly never coming back but not terrible place if money isn’t a problem and you don’t mind an establishment that feels very opportunitstic and corner cutting. I say go to an authentic restaurant in the neighborhood for a better meal instead of amplifying the gentrification train at new hipster places filled with people who look and act like u. Also took my spanish friends here and they ordered«spanish pizza» which had nothing spanish about it whatsoever lol.

This is a really nice addition to the neighborhood. The room is nicely laid out and decorated. The menu is a bit limited since it is a farm to table restaurant and some prices seem a bit high especially considering it is in Bushwick but the food was delicious and so were the drinks. The workers were also great especially our server Emmet.

The food is excellent. Emmet is a wonderful host. He made great recommendations-the steak, mozzarella and pork were phenomenal. Everything was fresh and delicious. Only downfall: price. It is fresh food, as it is a farm to table restaurant. However, I cannot get past the idea that there is an expensive restaurant in the Bushwick area, when there are homeless people living on the street a few blocks away. I guess that is New York for you.

I would actually give this more of a 4.5 but not quite a 5. The vibe here was really good. The waiters we had were excellent — not overbearing but not aloof either. We ordered the lamb chop small plate, an entrée of the black squid and risotto, the soft shell crab and the caramel cream with ancho Reyes. The lamb chop and the black squid were both really, really tasty and well done, but each one left a slightly charred aftertaste. Not terrible, but enough to be noticeable. The soft shell crab — no complaints! The potato salad was delish and they served it with some kind of herbs and tangerine dressing which just tasted super fresh and really interesting. The dessert — oh my god — I have never had anything like it in my life. It had this little trickle of ancho chile liqueur on top of this amazing custard and caramel sauce. Finally, they gave us these amazing(AND complimentary!) little dark chocolate truffles with fennel sugar. All in all, great vibe, great drinks. Portions are a little small for the price, but the food and service more than made up for it.

I had hope for Maite. We came by earlier in the day and met one of the owners and their mom, and took a look at the space, which was very cool. They seemed really nice and we were really excited to check out the resto later that evening for dinner. We came back around 8 to find plenty of seats and very friendly servers. Unfortunately, the food and the service was inconsistent. Nothing stood out after the meal. We appreciated a very good choice on the wine list: a nice Rose under 40. But we had to ask for napkins and bread after the olives arrived. The bread was two tiny pieces of toast. Calamari was ok, It wasn’t hot. Gnocchi was very good. Lambchops were good. Pizzetta was good as well, but oily. At these prices, you can have a wonderful meal in the neighborhood that will make you want to go back as soon as you walk out the door.
