Decided to stop in after I discovered there was a soul food restaurant in Cincinnati. I must say that the food was quite good. Chicken was seasoned well and fried golden. Vegetables we’re cooked well, and my favorite was the potatoes and onions oddly enough. Also tried the jerk chicken wings and they were a good choice. The only good soul food in Cincinnati and I’ll be back to try the oxtails.

The food here is wonderful! Just enough variety without it being overwhelming. I’m a stickler for good customer service and theirs is first class. They make sure that you feel welcomed and explain the items on the menu.

Cincinnati has a serious lack of quality soul food, but I’m happy to say that the void is about to be filled. I attended the grand opening today of the Divine Appetite Café and I cannot wait to return. Today’s menu was a $ 10 tasting that let you sample all of the goods. My personal faves were the greens cooked in smoked turkey, chicken wings and the delectable peach cobbler for dessert. Everything here is fresh and made from scratch, even the salad dressings and the balsamic will have you wanting to take a quart home. The restaurant is a little small so as it gets more popular there may be a wait, but it’s worth it. The chef also told me they’re planning a delivery service, so I can’t wait for the next time I’m on tap for Sunday dinner. You owe it to yourself to check this place out!
