The service was fine, and the food was OK… not much more to say about it… its acceptable for those times when you need to eat something, and it is the best non-diner gyro option around. but, with so many other options, I doubt I will be back that soon.

I don’t know where to start. I gotta say Unilocal is usually 90% of the time correct in their general reviews but this time it was waaaay off. How is this place getting more than 2 stars?! First the establishment had to be about 100 degrees, so my initial thought of eating in was out the window. I could barely breath while waiting for my food. The set up was also pretty amateur, couple of stools and a patio table and chair set… very strange. The menu was bizzar, gyros quesadillas and burgers. I had an immense craving for the great combo platter you get at halal carts in NYC but boy this was so off. I arrived home hoping the smell of my chicken and beef mixed gyro platter would match the taste but was sadly disappointed. The rice had to be the worse I’ve ever had, it was uneatable. It was a pile of mushey yellow rice with an odd brocoli sauce/mush? I’m not sure what it was but it was completely flavorless. The meats were ok. nothing special. The white sauce I got on the side was almost gelatinous, not what I’m used to eating. Overall, after looking at the pictures on Unilocal they really look nothing to what I received. Perhaps the workers slacked but running a food business is about consistency and I don’t see myself ever returning. I’ll just take a ride to Juicy Platters instead.

I just tried this place the other day, and I’m already coming back. I got the chicken gyro and my boyfriend got the beef. They were both really good. I came back today for the falafel and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a good place for the price and it’s easy to get to, which makes it easy for some quick food on my way home from work

BEWARE!!! Ordered food for delivery, after an hr still no food, called them back. The guy had no idea where his driver was, apologized and said food will be there soon. 1−½ he’s later NOFOOD! Tried calling, no answer. This is on a Sunday night! Had to order from somewhere else!

I was really excited to try this place because it was something different and they are open pretty late so I can stop on my way home. I’ll be sad to say I probably won’t ever go back to this place. Not sure if we had a bad experience because we came in late or maybe the cook just wasn’t in the mood for customers… We came in around 10 and got food to go– chicken quesadilla and a beef gyro platter. We asked the kid behind the counter a few questions and he just pointed the guy who was cooking so we had to yell back to him to ask him about the menu items which was kind of annoying, but whatever. The inside has what looks like outdoor patio for furniture? Not really sure what that was about but it wasn’t really welcoming. Service was pretty quick and we ate on the way home — didn’t realize the gyro platter meant it’s just gyro ingredients thrown on top of fries(they were out if rice) not an actual gyro. Kind of weird. And I could have made a better quesadilla at home. Really skimpy and no sour cream that I asked for. Overall it wasn’t terrible or anything but it wasn’t anything exciting. I couldn’t easily make myself at home. I really wanted to like this place but I feel like I wasted $ 20 that night.

G-Food is a welcomed addition to the area. Pizza is great but you can’t have everyday. Location has been home of several food places that went out of business. I’m hoping that G-Food is here to stay(at least until I move out of Jersey).Gyro’s(beef or chicken) are good to go. Platters if you want to go into beast mode with the hunger. Call ahead if you are in a rush time wise. Staff is friendly too

We placed a delivery last night at 10:55 and they were very nice to still deliver even though kitchen was clearly closing… No attitude at all like some places near by … We’ve eaten here twice and will continue … always fresh and gyros were really good !! Ask for extra sauce though … Feel like you’ll need it ! Staff is very friendly

I really, really want to like this place, since I often get a hankering for middle eastern food. I’ve given this place several tries… and it’s just not good. Dry. That’s the best word to describe the dishes I’ve had; the kebabs are dry, the kofta is dry, the falafel is dry. The only thing I had that wasn’t dry was a gyro… and that was greasy. They do have other foods that aren’t middle eastern food like: quesadillas, grilled sandwiches, and burgers. I however, had not had any of these; they could possibly be better. On my last visit the guy who rang me up was wearing gloves… the same ones he used to cook with. I didn’t want to find out to see if he did or didn’t change his gloves, because ignorance is bliss… But if he didn’t, that’s pretty gross. I have to give them at least two stars, because they’re always friendly and the service is always spot on… it’s the food that’s sub-par.

Wow, had this recently and I would never go back. I wasn’t expecting amazingness but I didn’t expect garbage either. I’m sorry but wth did everyone else see in this place??? Are you guys are seriously such townies that you can’t discern garbage food served to you or are the great reviews fake? The rice tastes so fake like Uncle Ben’s with orange coloring and the chicken was dry, no taste and smeared with just oregano(and I love oregano like the best of them). The white sauce is overwhelmingly dill and honestly, disgusting. The food was barely warm and the falafel were over-cooked(they did stay crispy though). Since it wasn’t hot anymore when I brought it home like 10 mins after I picked it up, I heated up a small bowl and I couldn’t even finish that and the rest is going straight to the trash. Even the smell of the dill white sauce was a turnoff. I’m not even comparing them to the Halal Guys or Greek/Mediterranean but just to FOOD in general. No go. My halal is so much better and I wish I hadn’t been too lazy to make it today. Maybe it’s because I’m a semi-foodie but yeah, never again, and I kinda hate putting such bad reviews for small businesses but this was just BAD. Even when places are mediocre, I don’t review because I feel like there’s room for improvement or they had an off day but not here. Sorry guys but wow, you might want to try a recipe you can find online to fix your food. Try Kebab Paradise for much better or Juicy Platters is ok too. My husband’s exact words were, «They should be ashamed.» Our friend who eats at Subway on a normal basis had this and he said he’d never go back either.

I just picked up food from them and it’s already gone. Beef Gyro was perfect. Cheeked gyro was even better. This was my first visit to them and it definitely won’t be last! Don’t forget to try their humus!

First things first, Being that the Butler/Kinnelon NJ area is a virtual restaurant desert, this place is a welcomed sight. Lets support local businesses like this and not terrible corporate garbage restaurants like Applebees, Chilis, etc… If you’re looking for a good gyro you can’t go wrong! Everything is cooked to order. The tzatziki sauce is homemade and you will want extra! Check out the gyro platter. You get huge portions; the rice is top notch, lettuce, tomato, onion, and your choice of chicken or beef.

at long last another food establishment is trying its hand at mixed grilled cuisine in this little nook of route 23 north. I had the pleasure of dining here on their 3rd day open and it was very satisfying. This is a great spot to give a quick stop for a nice«on the go» treat. They have a fair menu with decent prices. I got the beef gyro platter which had a generous amount of grilled goodness. Yellow rice, grilled peppers, onions, very fresh pita, some fantastic store made tzatsiki sauce, and some lettuce, made for a perfect lunch. I will revisit and probably up it to 5 stars, but i had to give four because it was 30 degrees in the restaurant, and it took longer than usual to get an «on the go» meal. Friendly staff, great food, GFood! **Oh yeah, and they are open until 2am. Gonna be awesome in the summer. Review updated– after 4 times there now the food has gotten even better, portions are still great for price point, and they are quicker! Awesome.
