My husband and I went riding with equine adventures on our honeymoon. It was an amazing experience and we had a blast. The guides were guiding a huge group and still managed to stay involved in conversation pretty equally with all of the guests. The scenery was gorgeous and we love the photographs that were provided by the photographer(we had to purchase them). I’ve ridden on many trail rides but this was easily one of my favorites. The only bummer for me is that I was given a pony to ride instead of a horse. I’m sure it was due to my height(5’4″) but it was not exactly what I wanted. The group was so large that I didn’t request a different horse because they were all tacked up already. For anyone making reservations I highly suggest you make a point to be specific if that is something that would bother you. That being said, once we were riding I still had a blast and I’m sure my pony didn’t even realize he was smaller than any of the horses– he had a big personality that made some pretty hysterical memories. I recommend this for couples and families with kids. These girls know what they are doing and kept a pretty close eye on everyone.

Equine adventures was an amazing experience for me. The guides were very nice and talkative. We first went through the woods at a nice walk where the one of the guides got to know me. When we came to a water hole the guides told us what to do and were reassuring. On the beach you got to split up into groups based on speed. I had the chance to trot and canter, and the amazing part was that the choice was totally up to you. You did not have to do anything you did not want to do. On the beach the guides got off of their horses and took pictures of us on our horses. All in all equine adventures was one of the best horse back riding places that I have gone to.

I have to start by saying that the horses are beautiful and it is a great idea for something new to do. I went with my family my younger sister and older parents. They told our group that this would be easy for any level and even beginners. The girls«guiding» out group were very young and more preoccupied with their horses and having fun than the softly of out group. First my horse laid down while I was on it’s back and started rolling on the ground and the young guides didn’t do much to help thank God I was quick enough so I didn’t get rolled over by a horse. Then I was bucked off on the beach part of the ride. Right before my horse was seemed very annoyed, I have no idea why. I was trying to get the guides attention, but she was much to busy playing with her horse. I was honestly it was grateful that it was me that it happened to and not my older parents or younger sister or her guest. I chose to get a car ride back and then was dropped off bloody and bruised at the barn, where I waited alone for an hour. When my group got back they were all very concerned and somewhat angry. It was funny how I waited an hour by myself, then when my group started to arrive, people who worked at the barn started to come out and show«great concern». I don’t blame the horse I know it is a animal with aims of it’s own. I do however blame the two«guides» who were supposed to be helping us with our«adventure». I will not be returning there again, and I would not recommend this for older people or people with young children.

If you are looking for a truly unique experience and enjoy adventure, horseback riding with Equine Adventures needs to be added to the Hatteras Island bucket list. You don’t have to be experienced to enjoy this ride, but if you are experienced, this will not disappoint! I am an experienced rider and went with 2 of my friends who are not experienced. We all had a wonderful time. Its a nice relaxing trail ride through the woods and an exciting gallop on the beach. The guides are friendly and the photographer that meets you on the beach is amazing. Truly a 5 star experience.

I’ve been riding for over 13 years, so I’m a bit hard to impress when it comes to horses. However, the people at EA did a great job accommodating both me and my game but inexperienced mom. Our ride was the two-hour beach one(it ended up being 3!) and it was fantastic. The trails go through some scrub and some unremarkable forest, but the moment you break out onto the beach is incredible! The group is then broken up according to what speed you want to go on the beach, so my horse Buzz and I had a wonderful gallop with two other riders. After that there’s a time for photos in front of the ocean. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back! At the time of my writing this, the cost is $ 95 per person and there’s a weight limit of 200lbs.
