Let me take you through my entire experience. First, the hotel is located in an area that a lot of business are closing down. My coworker and I went are both rewards members. At most HIEX, reward members get a perks bag, or spin a wheel for some sort of upgrade. When we checked in, we made it clear that we were rewards members and got nothing. The lady who checked us in(we will call her J) was uncomfortably fake friendly. She checked in 2 gentlemen immediately after us and gave them goodie bags! She put me on the first floor, right next to the lobby and ice machine. After going into my room, I heard everyone in the lobby and people using the ice machine. I tried to turn the AC fan for white noise on and it as broken. I finally had it. I went out and politely told J that the room would not work for me. Instead of trying to accommodate, she told me that it would be quiet after 9PM. I had to tell her that I go to bed at 7:30 and had to wake at 4AM. I told her that I would stay there for the night but I would have to change rooms in the morning. In the morning, I worked with Erica and she made sure a room was ready for me in the evening. Erica was courteous and understanding. She is the only reason I am giving this a 3rd star! Other than Erica, the service was just inconsistent. Of the 3 weeknight I stayed, I only received the newspaper one time. My second room had no lotion… The rooms were clean, but the towels need replacement bad! I mean stained and frayed. Definitely not HIEX standards.
