We went to this place for a birthday, just a few girls. This is one of the cutest winery I’ve been to! We all had a wonderful wine tasting. It is a family winery. A husband & wife team who were so friendly, welcoming, & knowledgeable of their wines. I need to bring my husband back to this place. I need to also try to attend one of their concerts.

Fun concerts with great atmosphere! If only they didn’t use port-o-potties. I was in a cast from my foot up to my upper thigh and on crutches and I was stuck hobbling up rickety stairs and trying to maneuver in a port-o-potty after spending a good deal of money to be there. I’ll tell you after my first trip to the bathroom and I didn’t drink another drop for fear that I would fail at using the port-o-potty a second time. Take my advice Leer, get real bathrooms.

Leer is an amazing gem out out in Byron… Gorgeous property, yummy wines, fun food trucks. I’ve been to a few concerts at Leer too… So much fun– smaller venue makes for amazing, intimate shows. They support our military, and that is always great in my book. The owners are always out mingling– very friendly and accommodating.

I am giving 2 stars for the beauty of the winery. I removed three stars because… 1. The wine is horrible!!! Loaded with sulfites(major headache) and a horrible aftertaste. Also their beer is very bitter. 2. The staff are not very friendly/sociable. 3. Their wine is way over priced for the quality you get. I will go for the summer concerts next year, because it is close and enjoyable and i will bring sodas and water, but as for the winter in their RV garage that has no ambiance and frigid cold, no thanks, I’ll pass.

We went in hopeful as we do like to support local vineyards and vintners in East Bay/Lodi. The property is very nice however the tasting room does not reflect it. It’s cold and uninviting, without Windows to enjoy the property aside for the opened double doors. The counter person was non engaging. Upon entering, we were greeted with ‘can I help you?’ … There are two wines which give back to noble causes ‘Heroic Blend’(wounded heros from Iraq and Afghanistan) and Coco’s Blend which contributes to rescue animals from high kill shelters yet the host mentioned neither during her tasting. Wines were mediocre, tasting fees are $ 10 a person yet one waived with $ 66 – 110 wine purchase(really?) Curiosity brought us here today, wine quality, wine taste preference and hospitality will keep us in Napa and Lodi. despite the drive.

Decided on a Sunday afternoon to check out the winery and do some tasting knowing the fee was $ 10 per person — this place is a disgrace to local businesses and east county wineries. For $ 10 you get a pour through a plastic measuring device, no ambiance, no personality, bottle is pulled off counter immediately after pour, and the tasting room is located in a garage for a RV. To add to the experience the tasting fee is waived when purchasing 3 over-priced mediocre wines which is unheard of even in Livermore, Sonoma, and even tourist trap Napa. Leer Vineyard has a lot to learn in selling wine — it starts with the owner(s) who the wife did not even say hi or achknowledge us when coming into the garage. Their main and only goal appears to make their business on their tasting fees — wish them luck in their endeavor and as a long time east county resident will never be back and would never recommend this winery to anyone. 0 out of 5 is what they truly deserve.

I have been to Leer a few times for wine tasting with friends and for their concerts. Which have always be impressive. The property is gorgeous and the wines are amazing. Customer service is off the scale. Thank you for a wonderful year. Looking forward to many more

save your money and taste elsewhere. The red wines are decent but way overpriced. They only credit one tasting if you buy three bottles. We were in and out in 25 mins.

We LOVE this winery! We love their wine, their grounds are beautiful and we LOVE that it is family friendly! So nice to be able to enjoy great wine while your kids can play on the play structure! We also love that they hold Friday night wine downs and concerts at their beautiful venue! I love country music and usually have to travel pretty far to hear good music. I love they offer concerts here and bring the community together! Can’t wait for the 80s night they are having! Can’t wait to go back!

Our friends invited us to join them at Leer a couple of months ago, and once we saw the beautiful local winery and inviting, non-pretentious atmosphere, we decided to become members on the spot. We now have a group of our Mountain House friends that are regulars for the Wine Down Friday events where we relax and listen to live music. During these events, they have food vendors, some of which have been really great, especially the delicious brick oven pizza, which I wish they could serve at every event. They also allow outside food(not alcohol) which is nice, because, in addition to the food they sell, we can bring our own cheeses, appetizers, snacks, etc. to enjoy during the evening. Also, and most importantly, I would like to say that we really enjoy the wines, which are excellent. Highly recommend this great place.

I really wanted to LOVE this winery. It is so close to home and appears to offer more than just a wine tasting experience. Overall though it was a disappointment. Here is what is positive: 1. Beautiful grounds and buildings. Although I didn’t get to see inside of the main wine tasting building since they were only offering outdoor tasting that day. 2. Offers larger events and activities that are not average offerings with most wineries or venues in this area. 3. They have two charity wines that, when purchased, donate money to canines and vets. Here is what is negative: 1. There might have been indoor restrooms, but it wasn’t very apparent. Used the outdoor restrooms which were dirty and stinky. Also, I had to re-wash my hands after leaving because the door handle was sticky. 2. Price point of wine is way more expensive than most other wineries within a 50 mile radius. 3. Outdoor cushions were covered with bird poop. If they are going to keep cushions underneath a big beautiful tree they should wash the chairs/cushions off. It looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for awhile. 4. Never been to a winery in this area where you have to buy 3 bottles of wine to have tasting fees waived, and I have been to many wineries small and large. 5. Most importantly the wine was just ok and not worth the high price point.

I wanted to recommend this winery for *some* of their music events but don’t go out of your way to visit for the wine. It’s mediocre at best. For the quality, it’s also pretty pricey. I certainly don’t mind spending $ 30 – 40 per bottle(and I often do) but the quality has to be great. Not to mention that they don’t waive their tasting fee when you purchase a bottle of wine like almost ALL of the area wineries do. And sadly I thought I was being helpful(as a very frequent winery patron around the Livermore/Lodi areas) by reaching out to the owners with some feedback. By their reply it was clear they had no interest in my feedback, they questioned my knowledge, and dismissed all of my suggestions. Tanisha(the owner?) was really rude and immature in her reply to me which was disappointing. Very foolish on her part. Again, nice venue, meh wine. Take your leisure time and money to some of the great wineries in Livermore and Lodi like I plan to do.

A winery near Discovery Bay?! Awesome. I’m always looking for something new in this area. This is the 2nd winery to show up in the close vicinity and the first in Byron. The property is clean and nice. There is a playground for children. They allow outside food(no outside alcohol), so you could make a nice little picnic in the lawn. There is NO shade, so bring an umbrella or something if you’ll be sitting outside. The tasting room was nice and cold. Cute red bar stools and a very modern feel. The tasting room was a little on the small side, and all seats were taken when we walked in(maybe 10 stools total). The flight offered when we went was 6 tastings(3 red/3 white) for $ 10. While I wasn’t super impressed with the wine, it was enjoyable to get out in Byron and I imagine they will get better with time. Most of the wine was made from grapes in Lodi, and they were sampling one estate wine(the tastiest on the list). We took home a bottle of their sweet moscato, which was $ 22 for the bottle. We’ll be back to check in on this place in the near future!

Can’t say enough about this gem! We went to the Journey Cover band concert last night and had an amazing time. The Leers were gracious and accommodating and made everyone feel like family friends. I loved the fact that they had a shuttle service on their property(which is very large) and they had clean restrooms to use. Shout out to Jennifer Branson for being such a lovely host as well. The beautiful grounds, fun entertainment, and yummy wine are a trifecta that is rarely found. This place belongs on your bucket list! I promise, you will be pleasantly surprised :)

This place is beautifully located close to home and offers a great selection of delicious wines. On top of that, it’s the perfect place for a picnic or a great venue to catch one it the outdoor concerts on the soft ball field. The owners are extremely nice and make you feel welcome. They support our troops and have a special wine out just to benefit them. Make sure you check this place out. They have great hours with tastings up until 9pm on Fridays and 7pm on Saturday. The Aerosmith tribute band they had a few weeks ago was awesome. Just wish it would have been a little warmer, but that’s the chance you take with any outdoor concert.

Ok, this place is fast becoming my go to Winery! It’s new and exciting to be here! They have some great wines and the staff are great friendly and personable! They just bottled their Estate grown Cabinet Franc! It is delicious in my opinion! They also have a Chardonnay from Santa Barbara, CA. That is so good! They have lots of events planned through out the year! If your ever out in East Contra Costa County, look them up! There located in Byron, CA!

Amazing place to have a wedding! We just had our daughters wedding here on 1÷17÷2015 and everything turned out beautiful. Stephen and Tenisha were so awesome to work with, that made the whole process so easy from start to finish. We only had 4 months to plan my daughters wedding and we had heard about leer vineyards thru a family friend. We went and saw the property a few days later and were so Impressed with the vineyards, landscaping and the leer family. They were so accommodating the whole time. We had no worries the day of the wedding because it was absolutely beautiful there. We held the ceremony outside and the reception inside and everything was beautiful. They have so many different spots on their property to do your event no 2 weddings will ever look the same. There wine was great also. Thanks again for letting us have our daughters special day there and the day turned out so wonderful. Thanks Tenisha and Stephen!
