The Red Rooster is the kind of neighborhood restaurant and bar that has good drinks and great food. It definitely is not the place where a newcomer will feel unwelcome like so many neighborhood bars. When an outsider walks in, the entire bar crowd is staring and judging you as an outsider. You won’t find it here. It’s a place that you can walk into, order a beer and their special for the night and feel right at home. It’s like your very own«Cheers» in your own neighborhood. The atmosphere is warm, well-lighted, spacious and friendly. If you need to have a small party for a special occasion, don’t be afraid to give them a call and be pleasantly surprised. Great place!

The Red Rooster is one of the top of the line places to go in Greene County. The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is amazing! Their burgers are HUGE and out of this world. I typically order the Chicken Tenders Platter, which comes with 4 large tenders and Steak Fries. It is one of my favorites, as well as the Buffalo Chicken Wrap! Their taps are Shocktop, Stella, Dinkelacker, and Pabst. If you decide to go out on a Tuesday night, it is the infamous Taco Tuesday! You can get $ 1 Tacos, and $ 3 Coronas. While your nudging down on your fresh, delicious tacos, you have a choice of 5 flat screen TVs to choose from to watch. If you’re in there on a night where you get Cheryl or Lynn as your bartender, You’re in for a great time! They are one of the most attentive, sociable bartenders I have experienced yet! If you have never been to this place, I highly reccommend that you try it out!

Unforgettable hamburger and memorable hospitality. My husband and I happened upon this place by coming down a lesser-traveled back road. Hungry for lunch, we were hesitant to stop at first because we didn’t see any cars or patrons … until we drove around the corner of the building. It was a gorgeous NY-summer day and a group of people were sitting on the deck at the picnic tables. We drove onto the unpaved parking lot and parked at the side of the building. Upon walking up the stairs to the deck, we eyed a two-seater picnic table that we wanted to sit at. Different and perfect for us that day. We went inside and were surprised to see the place empty. It’s a big space with an area for a band, an area for games(darts, pool, etc.), a jukebox, and seating all along the front, back and sides. It was very clean and I liked the natural light that came in from all the windows. I think the owner was sitting at the bar doing something with receipts and his wife was the one that greeted us. She was friendly, personable and seemed genuinely grateful to have us there, especially when she learned it was our first visit. We placed our orders for iced teas and burgers right there at the bar. She brought the drinks out and placed them on the counter then walked away to get something. We took the drinks and walked out to the deck to sit at «our» table. She came right out and said that she would have brought those out for us. We didn’t mind. It was the kind of place you felt right at home at. We were disappointed that they hadn’t made any of their famous Rooster Balls that day, but it will give us another reason to come back again. The other reason will be those burgers. Perfectly cooked, juicy, uneven patties with the right amount of flavor. It dripped right over my thick fries with every bite I took. The buns were toasty and fresh and so was the crisp pickle that was served on the side. It really was a great burger. The kind you crave and not just«feel like» having. I’m not a fan of mayo-based coleslaw, so I left the small cup of it that was served on the plate untouched. My husband loved his burger too. My absolute favorite part about the entire experience is that when we went inside to pay, after receiving our change and receipt, the owner(who was still sitting at the bar), raised his hand up to us and thanked us for coming in. We’ll be back.

Traveling on a Sunday afternoon and looking for a bite to eat we found this rustic, clean roadhouse. This place is huge with a bar, inside and outside dining, a room set up for Corn Hole, pool tables and music. Our friendly hostess, Shannon, greeted us as we arrived. She offered us menus along with the day’s specials, pizza and wings. We decided on chicken quesadillas. They came with tortilla chips, salsa and sour cream. We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries. Everything tasted great! It was a sunny day, so we opted to dine outside at one of the umbrella picnic tables. Highly recommend this place for a casual dining experience!

Came in on a single digit, extra frosty, evening. Almost didn’t want to go inside though because it seemed so empty from the outside. Being the city boy that I am(and unnaturally very paranoid), I had my guard up for fear of any«Wrong Turn» movie type of endings for this misplaced Chinese boy. Upon entering, my hunch was verified as this warm yet massive hall was only inhabited by 4 or so patrons, seated at the corner of the bar. Nonetheless, I was greeted amidst the sweaters and jean jacket community vibe by an extra friendly bartender who would double as my waitress. I believe her name was Cher or Cheryl. With the charm only a small town could create, she intro’d me to the specials, asked what I’d drink and kindly handed my the menu. In short, I ordered a coke, the rooster balls, and a pepper jack-jalapeño burger. Being that I was probably the only patron not here to drink, my rooster balls came pretty quick. But the quality definitely wouldn’t have made you think it was fast food! These grilled chicken wrapped in provolone wrapped in bacon concoction has got to be the star attraction here! It not only tasted so incredibly fresh, crispy, and savory, but was also not oily and just the right size. And the dip? Forget about it! Who woulda thought horseradish, ketchup, and mayo would make for such an appetite-opening delight? Delicious. On to the burger. This giant piece of love was beautifully adorned, cooked 80% as ordered, and piping hot and fresh. Even the buns were delicious! The burger came with hearty and hot steak fries, a nice Mac salad, and a sliced pickle. Great combo! Overall loved the experience. As hesitant as I initially was to step in, it was such a good decision that I did! Great service(she checked up on me just the right amount of times and even tried to make small talk now and then so I felt welcome), the establishment is kind and family oriented, and the food was as decently priced as it was delicious. Rarely give places a 5 but I loved it for so many reasons and hope to come back!

Absolutely love the Rooster!!! Delicious menu! Rooster balls with their special sauce is one of a kind. Live music, pool tables and even corn hole out on the patio. Amazing, friendly staff serving up cold beers and cocktails. Many thumbs up for the Rooster!

Went one day to pick up a Take-Out Menu so I would have it at home(and I would know right away what I wanted). It was a Saturday late morning or Sunday late morning and the place was looking real nice getting ready to have a Baby Shower for someone. So, it’s nice that they cater for all types of events. Went there a couple of weeks later and had a cheeseburger with French fries. Man, the burger was big and the fries delicious. My only slight concern was that the burger was not cooked as much as I wanted. I asked for medium well done and there was still SOME pink in the middle(not much). Next time, I will ask for well done. But overall, the burger was delicious. Can’t wait to try it again.

Loved the special of the night: Rooster Balls. OMG who thought of them. Bacon wrapped chicken with other ingredients… if you are going to deep fry it, it might as well be something amazing like this. The steamed clams were also really really good. Every one was cooked perfectly. Totally great. Other things I am now craving… Hot open meatloaf, Pulled pork quesadilla, and a really good BLT. Seems this is a family owned business and they like to do things right. Local and amazing.
