First time here and everything was AMAZING! I ordered the lobster bisque(seasonal) and it was delicious, so much lobster meat! I had the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and corn. The salmon was grilled to perfection and a whopping 7 ounces left me feeling very full. I always have room for dessert and Alexandra, our server, recommended their new Buttercake dessert and it was SOOOOGOOD! She did such a good job taking care of my mother and I will definitely stop by this fish house next time i’m in Calabasas!

It was Father’s Day weekend so I expected a wait even with our reservation. Very pleasantly surprised to be seated immediately. Our server made a few minor mistakes(forgot a appetizer salad) but was quick to correct things. The Philly Roll for an appetizer seemed pricey for the small portion and lack of avocado. Two out of three entrees were very good for the most part(Sand Dabs and Trout Almandine). But my husband had the Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut and it was significantly more expensive then the other entrees and seemed to lack the Macadamia Nuts. And dessert was tasty — Strawberry Shortcake but again pricey for the portion size and small amount of strawberries. I think King’s had larger portions previously so it’s not as good a value as I remember. I would go back, but probably not order the halibut, dessert or appetizer.

We go to Kings pretty regularly — almost every week! We go to the restaurant now and then and usually sit on the patio, but mostly we go to the bar and sit outside. The food is consistently good. I really can not remember having a bad meal. The sushi and sashimi is pretty good as well considering this is not a major part of their menu. Service can be inconsistent at times, but in all the times we’ve been, the majority of the times we have had good, attentive service more than we’ve had bad service. Also what I have noticed when the service has been ‘slower’ is it starts out slow because they are busy or there seems to be shift change, but it gets better once you’ve placed your order. Today we went for lunch, on Father’s Day, so the restaurant was packed. Again we had a good meal and we had excellent service by a waitress we have had in the past. She is always very sweet and on top of everything. I also agree with some of the other reviews about the mixed drinks. If you are picky about your mixed drinks, better off to skip them at Kings — they use pre-measured shots and my husband has complained about not being able to taste any alcohol in his drink. Other than that, King is definitely one of our Calabasas neighborhood faves!

I went here a few times as it is not far from where my mother is living in a memory care village. It was fine the first few times when I ordered the fish –salmon or the halibut, but do not order the shrimp and scallops unless you want to go away hungry! There were exactly 3 shrimp and 3 scallops. That was it! I had some salad and another side, and thankfully dessert, which I hardly ever order to make up for the lack of a decent meal. Too bad because I liked this place.

Food and seafood is amazing — the service is generally good — but the mixed drinks are terribly made — if you come here order beer and wine — not mixed drinks — they pre measure the shots and as anyone who has bartended knows — you will never get a perfect cocktail with premeasured shots into your cocktail. But the restaurant and food are great —

My daughters devours the scallop and shrimp dinner. Their clam chowder is so creamy and good and there is good variety like a great beet salad. Waitress Lissa is super, warm, efficient and kind. Hostess Michelle is a great ambassador. Love the large round booths!

We love kings! We eat here every time we come to CA! You just can’t get seafood like this in MN! My favorite is the jumbo fried shrimp! I could eat that stuff every day! We also like the fish and chips! The French fries are seasoned awesome!

King’s Fish House is very inviting as soon as you walk in. They have a very large partially open bar and a wonderful tiered outdoor patio. Everything I’ve enjoyed there was outstanding from their spicy seafood chowder to their great variety of salads. The sashimi plate in incredible with 4 – 5 huge pieces of 6 different kinds of fish. Each piece easily three times the size of your favorite sushi bar and a bargain at twice the price. I had been there years ago and re-discovered it about a month ago. Just had my 5th lunch there in a month and I’ve enjoyed great service, spacious tables and really great high quality food. Highly recommended!

I feel like King’s Fish House is underrated when you think of American Seafood. I came here for the second time on mothers day and was relived to be sat after a 10 minute wait. The establishment is located in the Beautiful Calabasas Commons on the corner. This establishment has a great outdoor patio and very spacious inside seating. They have a wide variety of seafood related dishes and surprisingly great drink options. Food: First, they give you complimentary fresh bread and butter. I always enjoy restaurants that provide bread, knowing that their food does a little while to get out. I decided to get a beer and an order of fish and chips. I thought the breaded fish was big, plump, and fishy. The fries were underwhelming but the waiter came back with a warmer/crunchy set of fries for my tartar sauce. Overall: I enjoyed my food and felt the waiter really amplified my experience. Food is good and well priced for the quality and the type of establishment. I believe a 4 out of 5 is perfect for King’s Fish House. Thank you for taking the time to read my review: D

Good: Food is really good. Anything you order you will love it. Place is clean and friendly. No good: service. I have a feeling that owner of this place just does not wanna hire more people. Servers always super super busy and rushing around the tables. Obviously I am no looking for long conversations with servers, but at least take your time to go over menu with me please. Bad: Cocktails. The place where you spend over 150 $ for 2 persons dinner needs to know how to make cocktails.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night. We had made reservations in advance but it wasn’t a packed house. Our server was really great, on top of things and attentive. I just have a slight pet peeve when wait staff doesnt inform us if they are out of something before ordering. I had my heart set on the Ono and it was only after we put in our orders and the waiter left us that I was told they didn’t have anymore so I had to scramble to pick something else, I went with the sword fish and my husband got the steak and lobster. For our apps we got the oyster sampler which provided us with a great selection of oysters. We loved every single one. We also got the baked PEI Blue Mussels. I was kind of expecting the kind you get when you order sushi but these were smaller but super tasty. The sauce definitely has a spice kick to em and I loved it. We also got the wild lump crab cocktail which was probably our least favorite. They mixed it in with a lot of cucumber which kind of covered up the actual amount of crab you were getting. They just slopped their cocktail sauce on top and it wasn’t really appetizing. My swordfish meal was okay. I was kind of expecting a swordfish steak and this was more of an oddly cut filet. The mach and cheese and grilled aspargus were great! My husband was really happy with his steak and lobster. It was cooked just the way he liked it.

The food was good, but not great. I ordered some fish, and I was satisfied upon leaving. The have a decent selection of drinks. The service is where I find the most issues, it takes long to get your food and the last time I was there we were checked on very seldom. If you’re into seafood, I would say check out only for curiosity but not for high recommendations.

Very good food. We started off ½ dozen of Naked Cowboy Oysters. They were small-medium in size, had a fresh taste to them and the rest of our food was fantastic. I ordered the Macadamia crusted Halibut. It was tender, tasty & delicious with a side of grilled zucchini & the garlic mashed potatoes. My girlfriend got the shrimp and scallops, corn and zucchini also with a side bowl of the clam chowder. That was probably the best chowder we’ve ever had! So delicious! This joint might need a renovation soon. Our waitress took some extra time in obtaining our orders and bringing the bill. She had some good suggestions and was helpful but just a tad less attentive in checking in with us. We were talking among ourselves but it seemed a bit far stretched for the duration of wait time — between the ordering, arrival of food, ordering another bottle of wine, taking the order for dessert and bill.

Met friends for dinner tonight! Our server Victor was great! He really has pride in his job and it shows in his customer service. He provided detailed descriptions of the signature dishes which was nice since I have been to Kings many times. Ask for Victor’s section! The clam chowder is the best! My friends had the spicy red chowder which is good too! Plenty of bread and butter, yum! The fish n chips is delicious. My favorite is the macadamia nut crusted halibut! Love the Cajun shrimp salad with avocado too! Couple bottles of Byron wine made for a perfect night on the patio. We all enjoyed everything tonight!

Great atmosphere and décor. It feels like a fixture establishment with an old fish market feel inside. They have a regular dining area, a bar area with additional booths and outdoor seating as well. As for the food, very fresh and reasonably priced. They serve fresh hot sour dough bread. I had the Chilean talapia with mango sauce, with a side of steamed spinach and caramelized carrots. Delicious! The fish was blackened and very flavorful. Kings fish house is definitely a favorite.

I heart seafood with a passion! Especially my love for raw, succulent, clams. So when I saw that this spot had them, I was über excited. But then was gravely disappointed when I actually tried the clams. They were no where near as fresh as I’d hope they would be. But that’s ok. The place itself is cute, I was going through the menu for days because they have such a large variety of things to choose from. I will say, for the freshness and quality that’s been advertised, expectations were not met. If you want sushi or sashimi, better off at a pure Japanese restaurant. They do have a decent selection of oysters, but still, the game was a little rough. Calamari was slightly over breaded and without the saving graces of dipping sauces I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed my meal. Service wasn’t that great either, but maybe cause I was sitting outside. I even had a waiter pretend not to see/hear me. I get that things get busy but it wasn’t a crowded day. Yeaaaa… and I had to ask for more water a lot so the struggle for that got real.
