Really blows, went up watch a friends band, sat at a table and the waitress said these are all reserved for a birthday party. So three tables all ready left and they are empty, she said no they are still reserved for another hour. So I found a seat at the bar. Really under staffed. Hard to get a drink, forget about ordering dinner. We just left and went to outback for dinner.

I might be biased, this place figures prominently in my history, the folks started bringing me here over 35 years ago. It seems to me, a staple for the West SFV. I always try to stop in when in the area, and old high school chums use it as a rendezvous spot for reunion type events. It’s usually a lively crowd, quite often there is live music, parking is rarely a problem, and the tap selection is deep.

I went in the other day and the manager I think his name was Donny was not at all helpful or observant to anything going on in this place I asked him a simple question and he shrugged his shoulders and walked away I’ve been here multiple times and never have I been treated with such disrespect also I work in restaurants and the way he talks to his staff was harsh and inappropriate I would not want to work with a manager like this. Will not be back until changes are made. I wish I could leave zero stars but that’s not an option.

I gave this place 3 stars because of the over all experience. The food in my opinion isn’t that great– in fact I must humbly admit that it was mediocre. If it wasn’t for the waitresses and waiters being very attentive, and mariachi band adding to the ambience and pleasantness of the place– I would have gievn this place a 2.

I went here for dinner with a group of 5 people. We were seated promptly and I must say that the chips and salsa were amazing. After a while we got our drinks but I think it took the waiter 20 – 25 minutes to finally come back to ask us for our orders… Then after the order was taken I think we waited another 30 minutes for the food to come out. I felt that the service was slowwww and was not satisfied but I’m still giving this place 4 stars because of the food! I ordered the Cajun Tacos(one chicken and one carne asada) and they were both delicious… the carne asada was well seasoned and the rice had corn which complimented the beans. If it was not for the service I would give this place the full 5 stars.

Came out for a special event. Celebrating the life of Dan Haggerty. We were seated in a big tent to the right of the building. It was decorated very nicely. They had a stage and tv for a slide show. The bar was outside the tent all but 5 feet away. The bartenders were nice and all wore smiles. Margarita was poured from the gun well. I actually like their mix. It wasn’t very strong, but it was good. As well as their sangria. Food was catered buffet style. We had rice and beans, enchiladas, chile rellenos, tacos, and all the fixings including guacamole and salsa. The enchilada and rellenos were a little over salted, but I seen to remember that was my first experience too, do I think that’s their recipe. They are good but if you terms to be sensitive to salt, you may want to stay away from these options. Guacamole was yummy. Our visit was one of somber feelings and all of our servers were extremely sensitive to the event and very friendly. They were prompt at clearing plates ans empty drink glasses. As well as taking orders for those who were seated. The bathrooms were clean and stocked. And I took a quick look around the actual facility and it’s a pretty cool looking place! Will definitely be back for a more joyous occasion. Thank you Sagebrush Cantina for making all off us feel welcomed and providing a beautiful spot to remember our dear friend.

This is not the same cantina from years ago. The service was horrible! We had a party and the management screwed up the menu. They served alcohol when we specifically said NOALCOHOL at this baby shower!!! They gave the server all these tables(outside) — completely away from our party. And then we found a hair in our food. RIDICULOUS!!! I would NOT recommend coming here for any sort of event.

I came here this past Sunday(for the first time) with a large group of friends for a birthday brunch. Initially we were seated outside with heat lamps, but it was a very cool day and so we were not all that comfortable. We made the best of it and went to check out the talked about buffet. There was definitely a wide selection of food. mac n cheese, hot dogs, tacos, sushi, pasta, waffles, fondue etc. Some items were total misses, and others were quite tasty(mac n cheese and pesto tortellini). The $ 30 Buffett also comes with 2 shooters(not much alcohol in them). After about an hour some of the tables inside started to clear up, so we were moved inside and it was a lot more comfortable. There’s also tvs playing the big games. I ended up ordering a drink from the bar to get a real buzz. The crowd is super diverse. Young ppl, really old ppl, families, couples, etc. Its got a casual western vibe. I’m interested in checking out Sagebrush again, but prefer ordering from the menu. The thing with Buffett is that it’s mostly mediocre. you’re overwhelmed by all of the choices, so u just have a little of this and that. And well I wasn’t totally satisfied. In fact I was hungry 2 hours later when I got home. Ordered a pizza lol

The female bartender was sucking on her fingers, playing with her hair and not washing her hands before serving people. That is never ok. Manager should have a servsafe class and requirement for the staff. Friendly. *****update/answer to asked question**** I wrote the review as I was sitting there watching it happen. It did indeed happen which is why I wrote the review so you could fix it.

Really just not my kind of scene. It was so loud here, really not a place for a date. Of course we came during a boxing match and when evenings are too cold to sit outside. The place is huge, tons of indoor as well as outdoor seating, service a bit lacking. I just had a few drinks, fine, not stellar and my friends eating commented it was lacking flavor, don’t expect anything authentic here. Fine if you are into sports and watching TV while out, since that is the last thing on my mind while out to dinner, SageBrush is a pass for me.

I honestly love this place. It is huge, it is fun, and there is good food and drinks. Its not a gourmet Mexican restaurant, but that’s not what you’re going there for. I went with my parents, uncle, and aunt for my dad’s birthday. As soon as we walked in we felt a very lively vibe. The drinks, the margaritas were amazing. They have many different margarita flavors. The food was pretty good. They bring big portions and the best part is honestly the chips and salsa in the beginning. They have ALOT of seating areas. Some indoors, some outdoor, some patio. We had a good time and there was someone from the restaurant who captured a photo of us which we purchased. After dinner, we were walking through the patio where people were dancing following the MC’s directions. My mom and aunt started dancing the wobble. Overall had a great experience. Food could use improvement but still decent.

Nasty nasty nasty!!! Last night we took a long winding road from Santa Monica to Calabasas for my boyfriends work Christmas party that was held at Sagebrush Cantina. The long drive made me super dizzy and nauseous and I got even more vertigo and wanted to barf from how bad the food was. I wouldn’t come back here if there was a gun put to my head. I would choose death. It was that bad. I almost dread writing this review because I don’t want to relive the crap I tasted last night but I progress. First of all; my ice tea tasted like coffee; which might be great for someone who loves coffee, but I HATE coffee so that pissed me off in itself. I asked the waitress if she accidentally served me coffee, or if they didn’t wash their coffee pot out and ended up pouring tea in it. She solemnly sweared I was tripping balls and this was ice tea, but did offer to get me another«ice tea». I took a sip out of the second serving and spit it back out. What a lady I am. Yes I am, yes I am. Spitting at a table is so lady like. My boyfriends coworkers must have thought I was a delicate flower. I kid you not when I tell you the second ice tea brought out tasted even more like coffee. I gave up since me having an ice tea at dinner just wasn’t meant to be and moved on to my strawberry ice blended margarita. What.a.joke! I know a good margarita when I taste one because if I drink I pretty much only drink strawberry blended margaritas. This tasted insanely sweet, like kool aid and zero alcohol. I don’t know if they figured I was under 21 and served me a kiddy drink, but I am way past 21 dammit and want to taste some alcohol and not feel like I’m drinking blended gummy bears. Just gross! I was terrified to even eat since I had such an awful experience with the drinks; and since I was expecting the food to be bloody awful it didn’t catch me off guard. I expected the worst and that’s exactly what I got. The rice was hard and undercooked; the mushroom taco looked nasty and greasy so I passed on eating it after one bite, and the beans looked a hot mess so I didn’t taste that at all to ease my already suffering palate. I left angry and hungry, and raided my fridge for hours after I got home. My 2 week old yogurt tasted better than the crap I had here last night. I’m not a fancy gal; I am cool with $ 2 tacos; but don’t charge $ 12 for a plate of 2 tacos that’s inedible and tastes like a $ 0.50 taco at best. I almost gave this place 2 stars, because at the end of dinner a chick came by with a camera saying she will take a picture of the group and let us have a postcard for free, which I thought was a super nice move. Well, this was a gimmick for them to make money. She took our picture and then came back with our free«photo». It was 2 by 2 inches and considering we were a party of 10 you couldn’t see a thing. When the girl with the camera noticed our struggle to see; she right away said that we can purchase the regular size photo for $ 15. Yes folks, the cost of a photo that costs about $ 0.10 to print was even more inflated than the cost of my nasty mushroom tacos. The funniest thing was when I took a picture of the normal sized photo with my phone the girl with the camera went ape sh1t crazy on me. She got all red and said«ma’am you cannot take a picture of the photo unless you buy it». Ok biatch; do you not see it’s my face in that picture? So I will take all the photos I please. What are you gonna do call the cops? Make me delete it? Oh puhhhhleaze! What a joke. 1 star, well deserved, never coming back! And hey, chick with the camera, I still have a picture I took of the picture; what you gonna do about it? Wanna come make me delete it? Mwahaha :)

After reading the Sagebrush response and the new review from Georgene W. I felt I have more to add. Maybe if the check in girl had got off her cell phone and sat us in the restaurant section after I told her I was there for the first time to eat, we would not have been stuck in the bar which requires payment up front as lousy service. Also, I might have been forgiving of mistakes if the MANAGER did not start with«What’s the problem» then quickly take off as if it was I that was a jerk for not finding the service acceptable. Condescending really is the word for that guy and his personality is drifting down to the staff. Sure, people that have been there for years have fond memories and the staff knows them and treats them well. But if they want a new breath of customers to replace those aging out or moving, find a manager who was trained in customer service.

I’ve been to Sagebrush quite a few times and it’s a decent fun local spot to grab some drinks and food. I haven’t eaten here more than a couple times but when I have it it was satisfying. It’s a huge property with a bunch of room indoors and out, and a parking lot connected to it. They have bands play on Thursdays an over the summer time on the weekends during the days and nights and it can get pretty busy especially on Sundays when they do a brunch. On football Sundays it gets pretty packed. They have a big patio area with a bunch of tables which provides a nice spot to sit out at and enjoy the festivities. Bartenders are friendly here and everyone is for the most part. They have a good variety of beers on tap, I think about 20+; besides that it’s a full bar. Parking is valet, but I’ve self-parked before plenty of times so I think it’s only during the weekends.

Like a 50 year old cougar. Looks okay from a distance, likes bikers, lots of makeup, not what she used to be, prefers not to cook well, best days behind her, worth a spin if you’re drunk. I came here to watch football on Saturday. First Michigan get swooped, then my Bruins. Pretty empty for a big college game day. Fred Roggin(KNBC sports) and his family were sitting next to me. Very cute wife #2, Fred. Expensive drinks, terrible food, decent service from Honnie, good HD monitors, good sound, huge seating areas inside and out, decent free parking.

Review for Sunday Brunch only. Came here for a birthday brunch and to watch football. This is a good place to host a large gathering for a birthday since they do all you can eat brunch for about $ 30, but I didn’t really enjoy the food. Brunch from 9−2pm includes mimoas, oj, vodka shots, fountain drinks, an omelette bar, bacon, waffles, seafood bar with oysters and crab legs, salad bar, different red meats, macaroni, tamales, sushi, eggs benedict, ceviche, tacos, and a dessert bar with cakes, ice cream, chocolate fountain, fruits, cookies, and churros. I didn’t really enjoy any of the food or cared for seconds of anything, but it’s a fun place to hang out if you’re trying to accommodate a large party of people. They take reservations for large parties. They have tons of TVs everywhere so there’s plenty of games on. This place is huge and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Service was attentive for drink refills and the food buffet was always replenished.

Always heard of Sagebrush as a little kid and finally decided to try it out as an adult! They have a Sunday brunch but my friend and I missed it. FYI it ends at 2 pm. So we ordered off the regular menu. The menu is quite extensive and had many choices of tacos, plates, burritos, and salads. The patio outside is big, but not the cleanest. I found the floor to have a lot of trash and food. Other than that, I loved sitting outside. Just on the other side of the patio is a little closed off courtyard which had people dancing and having a good time showing off their moves! The food here is so-so. I ordered El Mexicana burrito with shrimp. The shrimp was super small and didn’t have much flavor. The burrito skin was also overly soggy from the red and green sauces on top. I also noticed the lettuce inside was cooked. Didn’t have that fresh, crisp flavor. My friend ordered the tostada salad. She seemed to enjoy her salad more than I liked my burrito. For dessert, I ordered the churros. Found the churros to be soggy in the middle but I loved the 3 sauces they gave. One was a cinnamon sour cream, and a maple honey type of sauce and finally, a chocolate sauce. Pretty tasty sauces! Just need crispier churros! I think there are other better options for good Mexican food in the area, but if you want a place with a fun vibe, might be worth the try.

Cool Western theme, from the furniture, to the menus and the cowboy boots nailed to the walls. Sunday brunch buffet. Valet parking. Lots of outdoor seating. Lots of fine water misters to keep you cool. Inside is loud from the music and the people. Service is friendly.

I started going to Sagebrush in 1997. I really enjoyed it, I loved the bands, the drinks, the food, the atmosphere and especially being there with my friends. Fast forward to 15 years, I would go every now and then but when I think of going to Calabasas for dinner/lunch, I would think of Kings Fish House, Marmalade Café or Toscanova. However with my kids, it would be Fresh Brothers Pizza or Johnny Rockets. So recently I took my son, my daughter and her best friend to Sagebrush and I got the two tamales combo and the kids got the chicken fingers and cheese quesadillas. My kids loved their food. The portions where big and the cheese quesadillas was hot, gooey and yummy. My plate was OK, my rice and beans were lukewarm and the corners of the tamales were hard so that was really interesting. Because when I eat tamales, I like the masa and not the meat. But I like the meat tamales because it adds flavor to the masa. Everything was OK, I’ll get something else next time.

Hadn’t been here in a while, but stopped by Sunday after a class I was taking in the area. We got there around 5:30 pm It was jam-packed with people. Live music, people dancing and a whole lot of drinking going on. Huge groups of bikers and lots of people with neck tattoos. There was more ink there than Encyclopedia Britannica. I don’t have a problem with that, I’m pretty inked up myself. Lots of visibly drunk people, who should have probably been cut off by the staff long before they got to that point. Hopefully, they had a ride home… I saw a couple of people passed out at the tables and had to be carried out by their friends. The smell of weed was everywhere… I don’t smoke, but I like the way it smells :) Overall, imagine an outdoor biker bar in the middle of an expensive white neighborhood and you have the Sagebrush. Not sure what it’s like during the week. Only been there on weekends.
