This place is ‘hit or miss.’ Sometimes the food is great and sometimes it truly sucks. Sometimes the waitresses are awesome & sometimes they are asleep. The drinks are ALWAYS good though:) The atmosphere is cool & fun. I’d come back here, but it’s definitely not my ‘go to’ spot.

The SIX was great. Our Server was Lauren S. and she could not have been better. She was a great waitress. Funning and on top things like a good waitress should. Great job Lauren Can not wait to come back. Great fun!

This place is a lunch/brunch gem :) We had to stay at a hotel for the last two months that is basically across the street from this place. Being so close we ate here a lot. Their menu is small but I like that because you can taste the thought that goes into each dish. They have a strong Asian flair to many dishes and really have perfected the sweet/spicy play between ingredients. Here is what we had: 5 star — Crispy Bork Belly Bahn Mi Bowl — just about the most delicious thing I have ever eaten. I would eat this every week for the rest of my life 4 star — Chicken & Waffles — homemade and great 4 star — Thai cobb salad — very good but the dressing was a bit watery 5 star — any pizza(my husband loved them all) Dinner was not as good. It was not bad, it was just that everything we ordered was very over herbed. I love fresh herbs on/in my food but this was WAY over the top. The chicken and the steak were both almost distasteful because of the herbs. Their non-alcoholic drink menu is stellar. Herb and berry infused lemonades were out of this world. I can’t wait to go back

This is 100% my most favorite spot in Calabasas! Why you ask? One word… Becca. She provides the best, most amazing service I’ve ever experienced in my life! I always come here during the weekdays bc they are so busy on the weekends. She advises us of the live music and weekly happenings. She lets us know the freshest most amazing entrees and never fails to please us with her impeccable service. :) I brought my best friend here for her birthday and Becca made it the most memorable, special experience! I would recommend this please to friends in a heartbeat! If you haven’t been to The Six Chow House in Calabasas, you’re missing out! Do yourself a favor and get in there as soon as possible!

Food was awesome, service was lacking. Very cool atmosphere. The boys got the chicken and waffles and I got the flatbread and Mac and cheese, all were incredible. But our friend literally held his empty glass up while 3 waiters(waitresses) walked by and didn’t even acknowledge it. It was a Tuesday night and not that busy, we expected a bit better service, but overall I would return.

We’ve eaten at their other location in Studio City, and had a nice experience with food and service. So, when we found out about this one in Calabasas, we thought we’d give it try, and thinking it’ll be the same experience. Much to our disappointment, wewere not thrilled at all about their service and food, especially their so-called popular chicken and waffles. We’ve certainly had much better and tastier chicken and waffles in L.A. Everything about the chicken needed much improvement. The kale salad was obviously old, because the tips were yellow! $ 11 for plain kale salad that looked like it came straight out of a $ 3 bag from a supermarket. I can’t believe they allow food like that to leave the kitchen! Very disappointing. The service needs much improvement as well. They took forever to take our order and forgot our drinks! When we NICELY made a couple remarks about the undercooked food and missing drinks, they didn’t apologize, but made us feel as though it was our fault. They didn’t even bother to come around and check on us, periodically. They seem to pick and choose which table they prefer to be more attentive to, because they kept going back to certain tables and ignored us. Too bad, because I’m an extremely generous tipper, too, but still left them more than 15% for less-than-decent service. We’re no stanger to great service and food, because we dine at fine restaurants all the time. We know what to expect when dining out, and when a restaurant falls way below expectations, we feel the need to share our opinion, and hope that they’ll take notice and improve the quality of their food and service.

The Six is the perfect amalgamation of fantastic service, amazing food, and classy ambiance. For me, one of the most important aspects of going out to eat is service, and theirs is 10⁄10. Becca is my usual server, and you’ll never be disappointed with her up beat attitude and friendly demeanor. Her zeal for service strikes me as the epitome of what restaurants should strive for. All their food is phenomenal, hands down the best in Calabasas. My two favorites are the Chicken and Waffles(their red sauce is THE best I’ve ever had), and their steak. Keep in mind these are just my favorites, everything else is delicious in it’s own right. In terms of atmosphere, the incredibly unique design makes The Six a natural place to become a regular. For those who like venues, they have a diverse music selection on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and also comedy acts on Tuesdays. This is essentially the only place to see comedy in the area, which is super convenient for me and I do love to laugh. One thing that’s awesome about their venue is it is held in their Bourbon Room, which feels like a 1920’s speakeasy, extremely well decorated and unlike any other in the locale. All in all, you will have a great time at The Six.

Really hate when a restaurant says its open til 11pm and you and 6 of your friends walk in at 9:30 and they tell you its last call. And give you attitude because you want to order a drink but the bartender rather go home. Then they proceed to tell you to go to another resturaunt. Unilocal and their website says open till 11. I can understand if we walked in at 1045 even 1030. But we showed up at 930. Bad buisness ethics.

I think it’s about time to update my review on The Six after my most recent experience here! I ate here with a group of 8 a couple Saturday’s ago for dinner and wow have they improved! We all tried each other’s food and shared appetizers which was a great way to try more things on the menu! Here’s the rundown on everything I tried: Berry Mojito– fresh and full of mint, also pretty heavy on the rum ;) Fried pickles– I never knew I could love pickles so much! Brussels sprouts– so crispy and drizzled with a nice balsamic Calamari with shishito peppers– Good calamari, only came with one pepper. We asked the waitress if that was normal, she apologized and brought us a huge portion of peppers to make up for it. Heirloom pizza– kind of a fancy margarita pizza with avocado! Oven chicken pizza– a little saucy for my preference but I discovered how much I love avo on pizza Summer salad– really great with fresh strawberries and oranges, amazing flavors for a salad Greek salad– loved that it was arugula based Smores– just ok, kind of a weird texture Churros– more like a donut consistency but yummy There were definitely things that are not perfect but my old review does not compare to my most recent experience here. The service could still use a little work. It seems like there is a miscommunication between the servers, the bar, and the kitchen. Sometimes drinks and certain things were ordered and they were forgotten or came very late. These problems were very minimal and everyone we encountered was friendly! I have better feelings towards the restaurant now and I will be back!

This place suffers from an identity crisis as the décor, menu and ambiance do not match at all. Part cowboy, part old Hollywood, part new Hollywood, part American New, part … Waitresses dress like hookers so it’s not a place to take the kiddies or your mother. They do have a cool whiskey bar in the back of the restaurant with live music. Food was typical corporate with no passion ans average quality ingredients. Should be a barbecue place with sawdust on the floor… But it’s not.

Came here for lunch with some friends. My thoughts… Service — meh. like really meh.(Dear The Six, restaurants are a team effort, their is no I in team.) Side note: they were out of the Saison on tap, and had zero suggestions for something I would enjoy otherwise, i.e. Party Foul. Food — The brussel sprouts were really great, buffalo cauliflower was good too, but only if you doused in ranch and more buffalo sauce. I wasn’t stoked about much else… I will say, they had good options for the gluten free, vegan, dairy free freaks of SoCal… we had one of each in our group.

I returned for a second visit to The Six last night — this time to celebrate a friend’s birthday. My five star review still stands for food and service, as both were exemplary. Our table of five shared a couple of appetizers and desserts and each ordered an entrée… About the food: app 1: the buffalo cauliflower: still phenomenal. app 2: the short rib tacos: yummy… three served. my entrée: the chicken and waffles: amazing… and a great portion. I loved that they were boneless for ease of eating. dessert 1: The banana cream pie: delicious… and complimentary, for the birthday girl. dessert 2: The homemade churros with the caramel dipping sauce: fantastic(you may want to order two to share). Others at the table ordered the sun-dried tomato risotto, the hanger steak and the chicken dish on pea fritters with apricot chimichurri. Everyone was pleased with their selections. About the service: Our server was delightful and attentive, as were the others who refilled drinks and such. About the patio: For this visit, my group of five sat outside on the front patio. The only drawback: the night turned a little chilly and breezy, and the heater closest to us was out of service, so we did get cold. But it’s still a nice setting, and I would choose it again on a warmer night. Other note: Self-parking is scarce, even on a Monday night at 6 p.m. Valet is $ 3.50, pre-tip. Nutshell: My first visit to The Six for a work planning lunch was an easy five stars. My second visit to The Six for a casual birthday dinner was an easy five stars. I’m beginning to see a trend here.

My boyfriend and I came in for a quick drink and we honestly ended up staying there for almost two hours. We had the Mac and cheese bites and these delicious short rib tacos. We wanted to order more. Their happy hour there was phenomenal and the service was top notch. We loved every minute of being there and I know I will definitely be back. The vibe is pretty relaxed and the décor feels like I’ve been coming here a long time. I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu. Oh, the banana cream pie is a must when you go there.

I hosted a work party here on Saturday evening with 14 people. Most places tend to get flustered and confused with larger parties, which naturally can cause a delay with the kitchen, serving times, etc. I was extremely impressed with our experience. We were in and out in under 2 hours which was perfect. The food came out fast and was fantastic, and service was top notch. I will definitely be returning and so will all of my employees, they’re still talking about how good the food was.

Granted there are not many great dining and options for going out one the area, but I really don’t think The Six is worth returning for. Service is spotty, it gets really full here, so they are busy. Waiters running around with food everywhere in a small space that was overcrowded. We just had some cocktails which were fine, but not special for the price and moved to to eat elsewhere as it was just too cramped inside. Décor and vibe is fine, nothing special, menu sounds good but I was just over waiting. Not worth returning, but fine if you live in the area or go earlier in the evening maybe.

Walked into her around 5pm on a Thursday. It wasn’t to busy(yet) but came in for happy hour. I was greeted and decided to sit at the bar the first go here. But I have now been here over 4 times. It’s my to go spot for happy hour without question. We ordered the Tuna tartar tacos, cheese pizza and turkey sliders and BLT with some beers. The Tuna tartar. Done right. Properly marinated in a excellent ginger sauce. The cabbage slaw made right. Not to moist not to dry. And the taco shells made on order. You can’t go wrong if you order this. I’d give this dish 5 stars. Cheese pizza. The dough is absolutely amazing. They really know how to make good pizza here. Just the right amount of marinara and cheese. With that extra spice of garlic and basil. Turkey sliders. Now this is one of those things I don’t want to bad mouth. Considering it’s very tasty. But for some it may be to much taste. I for one felt like I was eating pure cumin spice. I could of just got a piece where some cumin spilled on it. LOL but either way it was WAY to much cumin. BLT. This isn’t your average BLT but more of a upscale BLT. on Ciabatta bread with a pesto instead of mayo it’s excellent. Lettuce and tomato is fresh and the bacon is made perfectly. Good crunch and great flavor I’d highly recommend this BLT without question. Overall this place is great. The food was far beyond my expectations when I walked in. The staff is laid back and very helpful. Not much to complain about this place. And that’s why I gave it 5 stars. I rarely give anywhere 5 these days. But this place has showed me it’s worthy. Food: Far Above average Décor: Above average. Upscale and new. Staff/Customer service: Amazing, fast and professional. No complaints. Cleanliness: Very clean Bathrooms: Clean and presentable. No issues.

Came on a Thursday evening around 8 pm, and it was REALLY loud. So loud that it was really difficult to hold a proper conversation without shouting at each other. There was a guy in the front bar playing guitar, which was kind of cool. It was mostly after work suits having drinks at the front bar. Middle section was wooden tables and booth seating for dining. Back bar was LOUD with music blaring and an open space where some girls were dancing. They actually rolled down the aluminum screen door down that separated the two rooms, and that helped a teensy bit with the noise. I guess this place is called The Six because they have six kinds of pizzas, six kind of sandwiches, six entrees, etc. We ended up eating: — Braised short rib tacos $ 14 — Grilled corn $ 6 — Tandoori chicken flatbread $ 14 — Potato crusted salmon $ 27 The corn came as one big cob, and the waitress was super nice and cut the kernels off with a steak knife for us so we could share the corn more easily. I was surprised about the flatbread, because it just looked like a bed of beets. In my mind, tandoori chicken is a dry roasted red-colored chicken, but I could barely discern the chicken on this flatbread at all. It looked(and tasted) like a beet and fennel salad on a flatbread. Probably would not order that again. The rest of the food was fine. Our waitress was from Australia and super cute and super nice. Unfortunately, it was so loud in the place that we could barely hear her when she was talking to us. I guess if you are looking for a loud bar to have some fun in, this is the place to go. Maybe you just want to absorb all the music and party atmosphere while having a few beers. But I can’t imagine how you could hold any type of normal conversation in there with all the music blaring at a gazillion decibels. I had a sore throat by the end of the evening from shouting across the table just trying to talk. The dining table was longer than a normal table, too, so even leaning in and shouting, sometimes we couldn’t hear each other at all. The décor is pretty cool. So if you want to just sit and stare at the walls and the ceiling, that’s nice. But forget about trying to talk to anyone.

Am I the only one who hears«The Six» and thinks of Drake and his love for T-dot(Toronto) aka The 6??? (+) The crispy Buffalo cauliflower was awesome for an appetizer. The buffalo flavor is legit and it’s part of the breading, while ranch sauce is served on the side. Definitely worth coming back for. (-) The fried brussel sprouts were ok, a bit greasy and surprisingly heavy. Our table didn’t finish this one. (+) Halibut was cooked well, the spicy red curry sauce with it was really good. (-) Pricey fish, $ 27 for this dinner entrée (-) Flatbread pizza was alright, probably not order again. (+) Banana cream pie for dessert was even better than the churros, and it was free with a Unilocal check-in!
