I had the whiskey chicken with grilled shrimp and mashed sweet potatoes! My sister had the chicken quesadilla and said that it was the best she had ever had! Service was awesome. Our sever Will was very attentive and knowledgeable. We are heavy tea and soda drinkers and he never let our glasses get empty.

Had an absolutely wonderful meal at the Boundary House! When we first arrived the wait was over an hour, so we left and returned roughly 25 minutes later and we were seated within 20 minutes. Very busy during typical dinner time hours. I am so glad that we did not eat somewhere else. Every bit of our meal was fresh; down to the homemade salad dressing and croissants. My husband and I both ordered salmon, prepared two ways, and we were not disappointed! The team of chefs clearly know what they are doing. I highly recommend the Boundary House to anyone staying within an hour of Calabash!

The best seafood I have had. The crab cakes are amazing and the shrimp and oysters are perfectly done. The food was wonderful but the service is top notch.(Tyler C) was our waiter and I was in a muscle shirt and shorts but he treated us like the most important customers in the restaurant.

Got the Cajun seafood pasta — delicious! Nothing bad on the menu and make sure to add a Boundary House salad if it’s not included. Our server, Chris, was hilarious and service was superb. Expect to walk out of here around $ 25 – 30 a person. Highly recommended to make a reservation.

I had an amazing turkey burger here! The turkey burger came with mushrooms, sauteed onions, swiss cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles on a croissant bun. Then a side of your choice. It was well seasoned and very juicy. It really has to be one of the best turkey burgers I have had outside of my home. Now the reason I gave it five stars is because not only was everybody’s food good, but they had great service. The hostess was very nice and accommodating to our large group. Even the service manager came by to check on us and see how the service was for this night. Our server was Ashley and she was very friendly. Its a nice, well kept clean restaurant. The food was an affordable, nice dinner. One of the guys with us didnt like his food and a new option was brought out immediately, so I saw nothing to complain about. Definitely coming back again.

One of our favorite not-so-Calabash places. Went with my mom tonight(Sunday) around 8. Our server Andrew was very friendly and attentive, he did great for this being his first week. You could see the staff was very hard-working. Everyone was either serving or tidying up; being a server I was impressed that I didn’t see any standing around. My mom and I split a Naughty Captain frozen drink, the mango flavor was great and you could tell it wasn’t from a cheap slush machine like some«beachy» drinks. Couldn’t taste any alcohol which was fine. My mom got her usual, the salmon salad, and I had their cheesy crab dip appetizer and a side house salad. Both of us were tired of seafood as we’ve been at the beach for a while. Everything came out perfect, there were only clean plates left when we were through. Their house dressing is a hot bacon and honey mustard, really great but I’d recommend asking for it on the side as my salad was fairly saturated with it(fine by me, I could drink it). I’ve also really loved their seafood Cajun pasta other times I’ve been. Definitely a great place if you’re looking for something besides seafood, but I’ve heard their seafood is great as well. Fairly loud but good for families, definitely one of the nicer places around.

Really great seafood! The usual Calabash places are overly greasy, but this was great. Excellent shrimp, crab cakes, and absolutely no complaints. Must check this place out!

The food, service, and ambience were decent. Due to the fact that this restaurant only takes reservations for 1⁄3 of the tables on a time, our party of 9 waited 2+ hours for a table on Saturday night. I can’t speak to the range of similar«fancy» restaurants in the area, but I would advocate heading further down the road to the docks for a fresher/“realer” experience.

Worth the drive from Wilmington… delicious food and they give you plenty, excellent service, beautiful facility, very clean, organized and fast. We had a really nice time. I will be back! We both had flounder and shrimp fried combos, she had the house salad with the honey mustard and bacon dressing and I had the potato soup appetizer. Every thing we had was super good. That flounder was huge and cooked perfectly.

Too much to say about this place! Starting off with our waiter Alex, fantastic probably the best server I have ever encountered. The croissants, to die for. Chili was delicious. My husband ordered the seafood gumbo it was amazing. Then I got a BLT normally it would be just LT. This one was smothered with bacon. It came with a side salad which had egg, ham and pecans, yum. My husband ordered oyster Poh-boy. He couldn’t stop smiling… The manager came over asked how everything was. Of course we said everything was outstanding. Our biggest problem is that we live in CT. We come down to NC at least once or twice a year. No doubt this will be the place to go too every-time we are here! EXCELLENT! Thanks to Alex one more time.

We had a bit of a wait which is to be expected for a Saturday night but it was all worth the wait. We had an excellent server who gave us good suggestions. Everything we ate was excellent! We will definitely return again.

I love the house salad and the buttery croissant. My family loves this place and it is plenty crowded, but I’m not overly impressed. I’d probably never go back given the other choices nearby. I love crab cakes, but unfortunately these has too much filler.

Went to have dinner with my husband on our last night in Calabash. We were looking forward to a good last meal and were greatly disappointed. We ordered Shrimp Alfredo and the crab cakes sandwich. Both dishes were mediocre at best and the fries arrived cold and old tasting. We also asked for a extra plate to split our meals and our new order of fries and plate did not arrive until the end of our meal. We are very disappointed and will not be coming back again. Very unfortunate and do not recommend.

If in Calabash, eat Calabash. Local restaurants offer MUCH more in terms of authentic, fresh from the Water seafood. Visited with my 2 college daughters and we were all disappointed. Were the restaurant not next to the water we could’ve given it a pass, but not the case.

On a weekend getaway to Ocean Isle Beach, we drove down to Calabash for a good restaurant experience. From looking around on Unilocal,The Boundary House looked like it would be just that for us and that’s where we headed on Saturday night. I highly recommend getting reservations for here as it was crowded even for mid-April, definitely call ahead. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated modern, very clean, and large in capacity. There is a dedicated bar area(where we hung out waiting for our buzzer to go off that the table reservation was ready) that is also pretty large as well. The booths are spacious and the restaurant tends to lend itself to groups(as would be the case in a tourist type establishment on the coast of course). Our server was a bit quiet and timid but did a good job for the most part. We started out with some croissants which we had read were great here… and they certainly did not disappoint. Although not THE best croissants I’ve had(that goes to Boulted Bread in d’town Raleigh), they were pretty darn good and shouldn’t be missed. Speaking of shouldn’t be missed, the baked potato soup I had was amazing good. Not bland at all, very flavorful without overpowering spicy or peppery tones. I highly recommend trying it. The one thing that did let us down a bit was the Caesar salads we had. It was a bit generic, not a standout. On top of that, the dressing amount was way too much… if I got this one again I’d recommend getting the dressing on the side to avoid that outcome. I chose the Whiskey Creek Chicken Pasta(boneless chicken breast topped with grilled shrimp, served over fettuccine and with a Black Velvet Whiskey Cream sauce) while Chris M. opted for the 3 Combo choosing blackened flounder, fried shrimp, and crab cake. We both enjoyed our selections, they hit the spot. If anything, I’d say the chicken could have come with more sauce, but tasted very good. They did forget the crab cake at first but brought it fast after calling it to the server’s attention… being that one of the things we noted was try the crab cakes, didn’t want to miss that! Finished out the evening with a slice of Crème Brulée Cheesecake, and a great way to finish. A pretty enjoyable meal in Calabash, all in all! Bottom line: The Boundary House offers a nice meal experience in the Calabash area. With a menu for both seafood and«land lovers» alike in a clean, spacious, and modern atmosphere, it has something sure to please most anyone. There were a couple of hiccups along the way but for the most part Boundary House gave us an enjoyable visit and I would come back.

Great atmosphere and large restaurant a little more upscale then the usual for calabash Try the gumbo and drink specials. They also do a Sunday brunch great spot after shopping at Callahans which is next door.

I was very impressed with the food here. Very fresh and delicious. We were seated pretty quickly butcher went early for dinner. There was a pretty long wait as we were leaving. I got the rib eye and it was grilled to a perfect medium rare. I got the Alfredo for my side and it was creamy decadence. They had many other traditional sides to choose from as well. Others in our party got the salmon with the pesto sauce and it was amazing. Someone also got the catch of the day with a soy citrus glaze which was nice. The burger was good as well. The house salad is loaded and the house dressing is a mix of honey mustard and hot bacon. I wish I could have bought a bottle. They also give you these fluffy cloud crescent rolls. Two reasons why I didn’t give this a 5; our waitress was not super attentive and was kind of awkward at times and the noise level is very loud. The overall atmosphere is nice though with warm wood tones.
