Great food, great service. The food is all fresh and delicious! Great for brunch! Waitresses are always friendly and the restaurant is very clean.

Food is delicious, and it’s family-operated so service has never been lacking for me. My favorite is the chorizo breakfast wrap, it’s perfect. Also, ask nicely and you might get the WiFi password!

Just had my first experience at Jersey Macs. It was nice to see some different things on the menu. I had the hummus eggs Benedict. Everything was made from scratch and it wasnt too heavy. The homemade hollandaise was flavorful which is sometimes hard to pull off and it was a nice light dish that would work well for carb conscious or for anyone who likes delicious food. The hummus would be great on its own. I feel like it had carrots which gave it a nice sweetness that was not overbearing. My mom had the pulled pork eggs benedict. The pulled pork was smokey with the right balance of sweetness and tart and had just enough smoke to compliment the eggs. If this place was in the city there would be lines out the door so get to this hidden gem and try some unique eats. This place is for foodies, trendy hipsters, locals, and out of towners. Its a nice spot to chat, byob and enjoy some reasonably priced quality food. Put in the effort and find a spot to park behind or across the street in the communal lot and get your tastebuds ready. I look forward to trying dinner which right now is available friday and saturday and is ever changing. Its nice to try new things at a place you can trust will serve you a quality freshly prepared dish. A want places like this to succeed. Come Give it a try. You will not be disappointed. Next sunday grab a bottle of champagne and a carton of oj and have yourself a nice satisfying brunch and support your local restaurants. It will be worth your efforts. Otherwise we will be left only with big corporate restaurants and generic places with the same foods. And if you enjoy it give a nice review to get the word out. Lets make caldwell the town to dine in.

This is a nice, little bistro on Bloomfield Avenue in Caldwell. I ordered a basic lunch, Caesar with Crispy Chicken, side of Fries, soda. Food was good, service was attentive, I liked it. This place has a family feel to it, comfy food, in a local neighborhood.

Visiting from San Francisco, I would have bypassed this wonderful bistro restaurant due to the name. It does not refer to Mac n’ Cheese but to the Chef/Owner of Scottish descent. The portions are generous and entrees reasonably priced. It is a bistro serving beef bourguignon that was a rich beef daube in a red wine sauce. It also served a moist thick pork chop with sweet roasted Brussel Sprouts and ginger/apple chutney and sweet potato fries. My mates enjoyed hush puppies and spiced rubbed spare ribs and declared them the best. I concurred. Also the salmon was thick and moist; good quality seafood. The soup was unnecessary due to the large dinner portions, and frankly was only so-so…the creamy tomato was bland and not creamy, and the curry lentil was heavy handed. Bring your own bottle of alcohol and there is no corkage fee so you will be very happy with your final bill. Truly, I would eat here weekly like my Essex Fells family members if this were in my neighborhood in SF. The menu changes daily so there is always something new to try. Really a great local find. It is only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday night.

This is not comfort food as they advertise. The best thing was the waitress, very sweet and nice — warrants a star herself. But I got oatmeal and it wasn’t cooked long enough. We both got coffee and it was old and not warm. Husband got Taylor ham, egg and cheese. The egg was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, but the bread was stale. It was definitely a disappointment. PS it was hot and humid out and they didn’t have the air on.

This place was misleading. Wasn’t really«comfort food» as they advertised. I was expecting some what of a greasy spoon type place. It was quite the opposite. It seemed more like a quaint café. I was the only one in there and my turkey sandwich still took at least 10 minutes. It was as good as I thought it would be, but that and a drink cost more than $ 10. It wasn’t even a sub, just turkey on a bulky roll. Shouldn’t take that long and shouldn’t cost that much. Good place if you know what it is and don’t mind paying a few dollars more.

I’ve come here nearly every weekend for a long time. This is a lovely café, wheelchair accessible, family owned. Seating is generally quick and food arrives within a reasonable time. I know there were some less than stellar reviews as the owner worked out some kinks in the staff and the food but I have rarely been disappointed. My favorite time to come is Sunday about 10 – 10:30 am. I have eaten most of the breakfast items. I find them to be delicious. Seriously terrific pancakes, oatmeal, potato pancakes(latkes), eggs benedict on nearly anything, hot chocolate, lattes cold or iced, also gluten free food there too. The biscuits are amazing and low-fat. Parking on the street or behind the building. Go to Forest Ave, make a left the first left behind bank and pull into lot. There is an attractive walkway –wide enough for a wheelchair-from the back lot. Turn right from the walkway. Please be patient. The restaurant has a small staff. If you’ve been there before and had an unhappy experience, please try again. I think things have greatly improved.

Not only was the food not«good food,» this place had the slowest and most inattentive service I’ve ever encountered. The sandwiches took far too long, well over 45 minutes, and all came out at different times. The sandwiches were lukewarm at best. Special requests were ignored(or forgotten). Here’s an example: One person ordered roast beef, one person ordered turkey. Both of them got turkey. When we tried to send one back the waitress insisted that the meat was — despite its pale pink color and turkey smell — actually roast beef. It wasn’t until she went to look at her ticket and realized she had written down turkey twice that she offered to take it back. Another oddity: I ordered a side of hummus. My dad ordered a side of vegetables. They did not come out till well after our main meals were all finished. Plus, the hummus and the vegetables, despite being ordered by two separate people, were served to us on one plate. The hummus, despite the Chef shouting at the waitress that it was taking so long because he was making it to order, did not taste homemade or fresh. No one came by check on us, refill our drinks, etc. It felt like they were annoyed to have us there. The atmosphere made us feel very uncomfortable. We were happy to leave. I recommend Jersey Mac’s change its sign from«Good Food» to «Lousy Service.» Then everyone will know what to expect. The owner’s daughter contacted me after seeing this review, which I appreciate, but none of us will ever be returning.

We live right around the corner from Jersey Mac’s and hoped to have had a quick breakfast so we stopped by to check it out. Friendly & charismatic family owned however can’t say much for the food we ordered. Over priced egg & sausage sandwiches at $ 7.50 each after adding bacon, salt & pepper on a plain roll! I know businesses need to stay in business but this is not the way to do it. Sausages themselves were cut in half as opposed to the standard sausage patties a Sausage & Egg Sandwich is supposed to be made with. Bottled drink selection was non existent with only a 2 – 3 choices to choose from: Apple Juice, Water, Soda Pop. Wished they’d offer a larger selection… OJ, Milk, Snapple, etc. They did offer home made lemonade or Ice-Tea… perhaps at $ 3.00 a cup… not sure on prices Of course they aren’t supposed to cater to just one or two people but we certainly will not be visiting again. Best of luck to the customers and it’s business.

Home style atmosphere and cooking. Reasonable price. Clean. We had steak and eggs, egg pie and salad. Started with Mac and cheese balls with BBQ sauce dip. Everything looked and tasted great. Chorizo on the egg pie has strong flavor, so be prepared. Would have been 5 star if fresh chicken on the salad.

Good food good service nice portions. It is a very plain but clean small café. The food is made fresh and served quickly. Would recommend. I actually like their food better than panera down the street.

I have eaten here many times for lunch and dinner. Jersey Mac’s is by far my favorite restaurant in a neighborhood with many excellent restaurants. The food is delicious, the ingredients are always fresh, and service is both prompt and friendly.

This place was not good. Yes, it was cheap and aesthetically cute but that’s where my good vibes end. Service was ridiculously slow given that the place was 75% empty. Our breakfast orders took close to 45 minutes to come out. And once the food finally arrived, it was lackluster and uninspiring at the best. Pretty sure the chef didnt even use salt and pepper. My eggs were dry/overcooked and flavorless even with good additions like chorizo and onions. The french fries I nabbed from my boyfriend were the highlight by far. No need to return. Maybe the lunch fare fares better, but I for one will not be coming back to find out.

Ordered a corned beef sandwich. Yikes, the menu said house cured, but the meat was more like bad brisket. Very thick cut, too thick for a sandwich. Had a strange taste as well as being too thick and tough. The place is clean and the people working there seemed nice. Just need to work on the food.
