Best pizza ever. EVER! Stopped in on Saturday night, ordered a square pie, half meatballs, couldn’t stop eating! My new favorite. Period.

Ok the only thing i can say about this place is holy sh*t the garlic knots! They make the best in the area hands down. First of all you get crunchy knots of dough with grated cheese on top(parmesan to you medigans) then comes the love… little tiny pieces of garlicky goodness cooked perfectly, swimming in the bottom of the tray. I have died and gone to garlic heaven. Oh please oh please don’t ever change the way you make these balls of heavenly dough. Now the pizza, best pizza this side of the Star Tavern and absolute best pie in town period. The crust to sauce to cheese ratio is perfect. Having a very limited menu does this tiny gem justice. Lets try and keep this place a secret, shall we? Just kidding — i hope people flock to your doors… just as long as those knots stay just the way they are

32.00 $ and change for 1 ½ pepperoni ½ plain pie and 1 ham and pineapple pie. Bit pricey but still well done.

My buddy swears by this place, and even he was disappointed by the 2 pies we got Saturday night. The buffalo pie was soaked in blue cheese sauce, and the chicken was dry and diced super small. The crust had no crunch at all. The plain pie was rubbery. I am going to give these guys another shot in the next few weeks, but this was a poor showing.

Best pizza around!!! The pan pizza is amazing! Every time my family visits, they want pizza from Tony D’s and they only live in Bergen county! The owner is great! They got our order wrong one time(only one time) and he gave us the pizza for free!!! We love this place!!!

When a businesses focuses on their core competency, they’re probably going to do well. I agree with the other reviewers who feel that Tony D’s makes the best pizza around, probably in large part because it’s the primary item on their menu. Pizza Pizza Pizza. My favorite is the Milano, which comes with ground sausage and Gorgonzola cheese. It’s delicious, but not a light meal by any means. You can buy round or square pies, and I’ve found that their square pies are the best value. The folks who run the place have always been cool and friendly. There is a small area to sit and eat inside, and some tables outside if you prefer. They deliver as well.

More like TONYDEEZNUTZ! There’s something about this pizza that’s just so damn excellent. The thought alone of their Milano pie has me foaming at the mouth. Love how they’ll cut the pie up into tiny squares so that I can talk myself out of feeling pudgy and pathetic when I eat half the pie by my lonesome. Best consumed when drunk out of the trunk of a car.(By that I mean tailgating. I’m not homeless… yet!) But, good enough that you can also eat it out of the trunk of your car when you’re stone cold sober. Or at a family party inside a properly furnished, happy home. Every time I’ve shared a bit of Tony D with someone, all they did was rant and rave about how delicious it is. Because, ya know what? It’s true. I’m a Bergen County native and I’m sad to say, my hometown would get horrendously murdered and scathed in the pizza gang wars. Or at least, that’s how I feel after eating at Tony D’s. This is a real and truthful review as always from, ~Brutally Anonymous~

Best pizza in the area by far. The thin crust is outstanding. It is always cooked right and never greasy. Better than the famous Star Tavern in my humble opinion.

Incredible pizza. Quick delivery. We have been ordering from Tony D’s for years and have never had a complaint. Their Avellino pizza is out of this world. Great calzones too. Such awesome, affable owners.

Flat out, they make one of the best square Grandma pies in the state. Easily on par with Bruno’s in Clifton, but very different in style. I can’t honestly claim any knowledge of their other pizzas, because every time I promise myself I will try one of their other varieties I end up ordering another Grandma Pie. Thin, and crispy with a bit of char on the edges(as it should be), a generous amount of fresh of basil and one the best sauces I’ve tasted on any pizza. It’s take out only and parking is a challenge, but if you arrive 5 or 10 minutes before your pie is ready, you’ll find a spot. One piece of advice, before you put your pie in your car and depart, steal a slice from the box, because, even though the pizza travels pretty well, the taste when it’s fresh from the oven is simply indescribable.

I have only had a calzone from this place. It was pretty bad. The ricotta was actually sweet, which I found disgusting. The calzone was overall soggy and greasy.

This little hidden gem in town has PHENOMENAL pizza! Thin and crispy. My favorite is the wild mushroom.

If you are a real pizza lover, Tony D’s Caldwell is the best pizza in Jersey! I can not think of any Pizzeria between Jersey, and any Borough of NYC that can touch this pizza! The crust is thin, and tasty! The cheese & sauce, excellent! The pizza is not a greasy pizza. The prices are excellent! I will finish by saying, I ordered a pizza on Sunday. Before I could drive off I placed a 2nd order. The staff are very friendly. I will be ordering weekly! We are true pizza lovers in my home.

Excellent pizza. Their«Thin Sicilian Style» pan pizzas have freakin’ amazing freakin’ crust! I wandered here with my sons before seeing a movie down the street. My boys got regular cheese slices — I got Grandma style, square, Sicilian ones. Outside, they’ve got a nice little patio, to sit and eat. My slices were so flippin’ good that I had to flippin’ go back and get another flippin’ slice. Hey. No lie! That’s a good pie.

While visiting from out of state, my buddy Tony Y took me to Tony D’s for some good ol’ pizza pie. Before we went to Tony D’s, what I was told was: 1) Tony(the owner and primary pizza maker) would greet us as soon as we arrive; 2) The friendly person at the register will take our order, and tell us how long we have(in number of beers to drink at the nearby watering hole) until the pizzas would be ready. 3) The pizza would be one of the best you’ve ever had. Everything I was told about the place was true. Tony(the owner) seems like a genuinely nice guy who wants you to enjoy his delicious culinary pizza creations. Next time I am in town, I’ll be heading to Tony D’s for yet another slice of delicious pie! I just wish I didn’t live a couple thousand miles away, or else I’d be getting my pizza fix at Tony D’s on a regular basis.

It’s now been two days since my blue cheese and sausage slices. I’m going for a fix while taking a run today. Don’t tell my wife. said the slices were the best. Indeed they are.

Had the Milano Grandma slice for lunch today; 1. This was the best slice of pizza that I have ever eaten in my life. 2. was worth the wait. I travel all over the state of NJ for work and that has allowed me to eat a lot of pizza, but after the reading the list on of the best pizza joints in NJ I made a point to stop at Tony D’s Pizza for lunch on Monday… not knowing that they are closed on Monday, however, I found myself back in the area today and decided to give it a try. I have not stopped thinking of how special that slice was, and how hard it will be for me to wait until I am back in the area. It really made my day. Thank You Tony for taking such pride in your food, I appreciate it.

Best pizza in the Caldwell area, and with an Italian pizzeria or trattoria on every corner, that’s really saying something. Fantastic crust, sauce, and toppings(they even cater to my occasional craving for anchovies). And fast delivery!

Tony D’s is Essex County’s best kept secret in the world of pizza. The owner, Tony takes pride in his product and is passionate about serving an amazing thin crust pizza. While a regular pie is great, the specialties pies are outstanding. Fresh ingredients make the difference. Be sure to ask to try something different like the Gorgonzola-sausage or an antipasti pizza. Try it and you’ll be hooked.
