A MUSTSEEIFINTHENAPAAREAONSAT am!!! I had been wanting to tour this estate for years and finally got there this past weekend. Its near the Calistoga downtown area but just off the beaten path. They only do 1 public tour Saturday mornings at 11am in groups of about 20 so you definately need to make reservations in advance. I’d recommended it for 14yr olds & up. You pick up your tour tickets at their art gallery in town(approx. 2 miles away from Villa, btw this is also their gift shop). Photos are only permitted of the outside grounds but with several acres there is plenty to photograph(a book is for sale at the gallery with pics inside the villa to bring home). I don’t want to spoil what you see on this tour but suffice it to say you get a complete 1 ½ hr stroll exploring the entire grounds and house given by Carol Marchiori the artist himself. This is his home and Carlo couldn’t have been more gracious and welcoming. Such a sweet Venetian gentleman with unbelievable artistic ability in multiple medias(murals, porcelain, tiles, cement, stone, etc). Mr. Marchiori has a wonderful sense of humor that is evident in his art pieces, he isn’t pretentious in any way which is refreshing for someone with such talent. His art goes from stone animals, to mythological figures, to classic Italian, to operatic with pure fanciful sprinkled throughout. Every piece was a delight to see with several surprises along the way. In his studio you can take a peek at whatever art he is currently working on. While we were there he was doing gnome labels for a winery. If you are really lucky you’ll get to meet his two sweet basenji’s too. I highly recommend this tour to anyone in the Napa area. Great place to bring out of the area guests. We can’t wait to go back with our teens. You can’t help leaving with a BIG smile on your face. Thank you Carlo!

Beautiful, just so stunning! The location is amazing and offers a great view. The yard is open and they even I was at here was great! The floor/law needed a LOT of work, it was so hard walking in heels here, but they event was worth it. The art work inside the house is soooo gody but very inspiring. I wanted to get creative right away after I left the building. I was so happy to of had the chance to visit here.

What a fantastic addition to Calistoga! Villa Ca’toga is one man’s artisic vision. Carlo Marchiori is an icon is the art world and in Napa Valley. He was born in Italy and now resides in Calistoga where he creates art on his estate where he also lives. He opens his estate to the public for tours of his villa. You can walk around the grounds, which are filled with sculptures, fountains, pools, and amazing stonework. On the inside his villa is painted head to toe in murals and frescos from all types of period pieces. Absolutely beautiful and inspiring. Carlo is a very hospitable man that only wants to show you his passions. Its amazing that he can excel at some many different types of mediums. So glad I found this gem in Calistoga.
