This place was great! A wide variety of beers and liquors and fantastic music playing(but not so loud that you can’t hear each other talking). This can only be considered a «dive bar» because of its location; it certainly isn’t as poncey as your other choices to get a drink in the area, but that’s part of what I liked. After exploring some wineries, I didn’t want ambiance, I just wanted a decently comfortable chair and some cocktails. Done and done.

As a local, this is the best casual place to hang out after a long day of work or for a fun weekend night. It’s pretty casual, no need to dress up. We love that we can go upstairs to chill and play a game of darts, play a few games of pool downstairs, cool off out back, and party it up with the DJ on Saturday nights. I’ve never ordered a drink that they weren’t able to make and they always have good beers on tap. We locals love our bartenders, they love us, and as long as you’re not an a**hole they’ll like you too.

Great cocktails. Clean. Friendly staff. The beers were tasty. And the no frill atmosphere was down to earth and inviting. Unfortunately my wife beat me while playing cards. We will definitely return.

If you like a rude wilderbeast bartender this place is for you she broke a glass and the shatter almost hit my girls eyeball avoid this place apparently the wilderbeast runs her own security by violently kicking people out after one drink very classy

We needed a place to watch the SB, and quite a few winery people mentioned this place… Several actually called it a «Dive Bar»… So our expectations weren’t super high, but we wanted to watch the big game with fun people, not wine snobs… In a word, our overall experience was«Awesome». Great vibe, amazing people, A killer Bloody Mary, and low prices on local(ish) beer. If we are ever in the area again, we will have to stop by for a cold one!

Soooo walked into a pretty empty bar on a Sunday which is totally cool, bartender however wasn’t the friendliest… with 5 people in the bar and 2 new people walking in, appreciate the patronage! Not the case, my friend asked what kind of beers they had on tap, bartender with attitude looked to the left(our right) at the list of beers. She was listing a few of the options she wanted and the bartender kept saying they didn’t have it. She finally said an IPA and the bartender gave her a look like well what kind of IPA even tho they had just finished going over the type of beer. Strike 1… I asked if they made their own mixer or had it, she said«had it» with complete attitude, I have a «go to» drink but it depends on my mixer, so as soon as she answered I ordered. Keep in mind there were FIVE people at the bar with drinks already, so her attitude was not appreciated. We ordered a round and left the bar to play pool and listen to music. Bar itself was cute and fun, pool tables were cool since they were inexpensive but our first impression wasn’t what I wanted. Too bad it’s the only real bar open around town, we left because 1. I didn’t want to interact with the bartender again 2. No one else was playing music but us so I was spending too much $$ on not listening to dead air 3. It was pretty dead(yes it’s a Sunday but it’s a holiday weekend) Bottom line, bartender wasn’t friendly and I was in the mood to be friendly. Too bad, we wanted to keep drinking.

Great bar!!! Glad to find an honest drink in an honest place, in a tourist town. As a professional man but with still a love of an honest bar at an honest price, I loved this place on my vacation from the Bay Area. They have all the full bar liquors a real bar could flaunt, and great draft beers. Danny is awesome, he makes a mean Makers Manhattan, and is very attentive. Great bar for anyone who is looking for a good stiff drink and good people!

Wonderful and charming bar in Calistoga(FYI it’s the only«bar» in Calistoga proper). This place is always busy and always fun. They have a juke box, pool tables, and a full bar(no food). It was recently renovated so the«dive-bar» element has been replaced with just a cool country bar spot. Authentic exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and nice color lights behind the bar wall of liquor. A few high tables and a long bar made of an ancient redwood. Since Susie’s is the only real bar in town, many people end up here after their day of wine tasting, or dinner out, or even a wedding. In addition, you will probably see some Napa locals here. The result is a nice eclectic mix of people. Something neat, that some may not know about, is that the bar also offers craft cocktails. Yes, they have all of the regular drink options… but they also make special and unique drinks and have seasonal drinks. Some of their special drinks even come in special glasses that take you back to the Prohibition Era. They do martinis with foam, tequila infused with various natural flavors such as dark cherry infused tequila aged in an oak wine barrel. Be sure to ask about their latest creations because there is always something fun and new to try. Another cool feature is that you can order nice champagne and even order the entire bottle. Their bottle of Schramsburg is offered at a better price than any other spot in the area. Very reasonable. Another cool feature is that they have some very special liquor options available. For an obvious added cost, you can order some of the best liquors on the market. If you are excited to do a tasting, and try something special, this is your spot.

From the outside it looks sketchy but… bar tender was awesome! Lots of tvs and awesome sound system for games. Huge. Upstairs and down stairs. Darts and a pool table. Upgraded dive bar! Will return again.

Nice dive bar in downtown. The bartender was a really nice guy, very chill atmosphere. Two pool tables, lots of TVs, patio for smokers, and a juke box. Good place to grab a cold beer on draught, play some pool, and chill in a casual environment.

I had 2 beers there yesterday…2/14/15…The blonde barmaid stole 100 bill from me on the counter. Shame on me for leaving on the counter!!! But we both know she stold it.

Great bar in Calistoga. Friendly atmosphere with a very helpful staff. Tons of options when it comes to drinks. Great music plays through the sound system while people hang out at the standing tables or play billiards in the back.

You have to look or you’ll miss it. It’s the only ‘normal’ bar I noticed in Calistoga. They don’t stock Redbull so you’ll have to settle for a Jagr & Monster after you’re done wine tasting to get the hamster wheel spinning again. There’s a pool table, pinball machine and several TVs. We didn’t try the food but the beer tasted like beer. As a bonus, the back door of Susie’s empties out behind the police station in case you need a place to cool off.

Had a blast here on a busy Saturday night /Easter weekend. Bartenders are awesome and patrons a blast to party with. This is obviously the place to be in town.

From the outside you’d expect a classic dive bar. One foot inside and you can tell it has its own authentic Calistoga twist. Large and spacey. There are actually two levels to it. I really love the mysterious $ bills pinned to the ceiling(how did they get them up there)? Over all fun experience and decent prices! Will be back for sure!

Went in there expecting to find«clepto-super vile-angry girl with the straight blonde/white hair», Fawn behind the bar. Instead, was greeted with a smile and a «what can I get you?». Was this the same Fawn? Imagine the disappointment…:-) Walking down the long hallway to the bar(located in the back of the structure) gives you the definite feeling that you’re stepping into a dive bar. If you use the term«dive» as a compliment for a bar then you should like what you see as you round the corner. A good choice among the few choices to hang out at in Calistoga after dark. Not sure there’s another pool table in town. Fawn loves to talk about her Unilocal reviews…
