Honestly we went to a lot of wineries this weekend! T’anne is by far the best host. She treated us great(we were part of a bacholerette party annoying right ?) we had lovely wine, while walking down town! You seriously can’t beat it!

Beautiful wines. friendly staff, light breezy vibe. Recommend it as a stand out on a street that has 20+ tasting rooms.

Had an amazing experience. Bob Hoffman was great he was a real people person! He wasn’t only knowledgeable about the wines but he also was able to listen and keep conversation with us while attending two other people. Thank you!

Turned the lights off on us as we walked in, a full hour before they say they close. Not cool.

Medium sized tasting room located right in downtown Calistoga… some friends of ours in the industry recommended we stop in and we were not disappointed. Bob was pouring for us when we visited this last Sunday(June 2014) and we had a lovely time chatting and joking around. We sampled about 8 wines and ended up coming home with some delicious Rosé, award winning Pinot and a great Cab. Next time we are in the area we won’t hesitate to stop in and hopefully we will have a chance to meet the famous T’anne…Official Unilocal Sweetheart. ;-)

One of the hidden gems in Napa. Phenomenal Pinot Noirs and epic Cabernet Sauvignon! Quite unassuming tasting room in quaint downtown Calistoga. My wife and I were told this was a great place. We went there with high hopes and we were blown out of the water. We even became wine club members. First, the staff and owners are a class act. Very unpretentious and down to earth. T’Anne and her staff are extremely knowledgeable in the wine industry. The winemakers are legendary in Napa’s history — William Smith has been making the wines for decades and used to own La Jota(97+ cabs). Instead of $ 300 cabs, WH Smith has $ 60 cabs that taste the same. What a deal. I knew their Pinot Noirs were phenomenal, and I just learned they were rated 94 – 96 by Wine Enthusiast and Wine Advocate. These wines have just become my go to bottles.

This property is ideal if you want some great education and attention. The wines are all great especially the Pinot noir. This is a good family run business and should be supported. Ask for T’Anne!

T’Anne is great! Every time we come in there we feel welcomed. The wine is absolutely amazing! We love the Marimar and Maritime Pinots and your Howell Mountain Cabs are some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Your family owned and the pride in that reflects in your business! We became members because of the people there! The wine just makes it an extra bonus! Thank you

a gem of a tasting room for downtown Calistoga… a place that has been plagued by a connotation of being not as refined as other parts of the valley. The Pinots were stand out. Light, Burgundian with soft fungal tones, great acid with nice fruit and not jammy. Very well done. I’m glad to see that now one can do a little wine walk while staying in town. For the most part, the wines in town were just OK but WH Smith was a standout. Between restaurants like Jole and wineries like WH Smith, Calistoga is definitely evolving.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here on our way back to the B&B we were staying at. The woman working was so friendly! She explained everything so well. We also bought some candles to create décor on our wine glass! I’d recommend stopping in!!!

We came in about 45 mins before close and were told they were out of glasses. The woman at the counter was SO rude. We met another group at Vermeil wines down the street who were complaining about the same exact thing. We will never go back.

They have a really nice selection including several very nice pinots. Nice to just walk around town to go wine tasting and not drive anywhere. How fun is that!

We went to W.H. Smith on 01÷07÷12 as part of the Calistoga Winter in the Wineries Passport. T. Anne Butcher helped us and was extremely friendly. In addition to a great personality, she had great wines. Plus she had a class that morning, so she was pouring a ridiculous amount of different wines(in a good way). W.H. Smith also had great décor items for sale. One of the best stops so far.

Small, friendly tasting room. Daughter of the vintner was pouring and was super nice. Kinda crowded with all the displays but good wine made up for it. Don’t know how many glasses we had with the tasting, but it was a lot.

Came here with my husband on Valentine’s day. They had put on a special Valentines Day wine, cheese and chocolate tasting for $ 20. Such a good idea having the chocolate fountain. We had a great time tasting the Pinot Noir wine selection and of course indulged in the chocolate fountain. The owners Bill and Joan were very inviting and polite. Their daughter took time in explaining the wines and tastes which helped a lot. Very good atmosphere here. Next time we are in Calistoga, this place is worth a second visit.
