Bradley was great. Sat on the patio for 2+ hours and tasted some of Kirk’s best work. Sorry we missed him this visit. Hope to get to see him next month. The Venge wines are amazing.

Unlike others mentioned, we did not have a hard time finding the place. There are signs and our GPS was right. You have to be buzzed in, so maybe people are confused by that. But anyway me and my group LOVED Venge(pronounced Ven-Gee). We sat outside on their beautiful porch and sampled a bunch of wines. Including some that weren’t on the list– like a rose and a proprietary white. Honestly I loved them all and regret not buying more bottles since it seems really difficult to get unless you’re there. I’m a mostly red drinker and have never had a chardonnay I liked, but surprisingly purchased theirs! It was not super oaky– really drinkable. Highly recommend the whole experience.

Finding Venge isn’t incredibly hard. Just put it in the navigation, but be on the lookout for a fairly small sign and tiny driveway. Don’t be looking for a fancy, large stone sign by the driveway. Take the narrow drive and head to the gate. You have to be buzzed in. Once inside, we were greeted by Bradley who was great, and also was responsible for the excellent tunes(at least for our generation) that we heard throughout the tasting. What a lovely setting for wine tasting. We sat outside on the deck and looked out over the vineyards. Soooooo peaceful. The wines… well, we started kind of slow but as you get towards their more expensive reds, there is no denying the quality of the wines. Excellent Cab and Scout’s Honor Red. No wonder they have all those accolades. And you must try the Late Harvest Zinfindel. My wife was in heaven. Yet another wine club joined. Definitely worth visiting, even though it’s a bit far from downtown Napa. So peaceful, nice people, excellent wines.

Found this after trying Scouts Honor. One visit and we were hooked on all their wine — joined the wine club! Gorgeous tasting area and staff was great. Love this wine!

This is our 2nd year in a row of visiting Venge for a tasting. Once again, the wine was fabulous, the pourers where a lot of fun, and we were never rushed. From what I’ve read, more Napa Valley tasting rooms are limiting the amount of time they’ll spend with customers, even if they’re buyers. Not so with Venge. Their wines are limited and delicious so take advantage when you’re there in person.

Venge is the best kept secret(well not so much anymore) in Napa. The wines he produces are exceptional. The Silencieuxis is what drew us in, the Family Reserve is what sold us. We’ve been avid buyers ever since and I can’t recommend enough that you try their wine. Nothing I’ve ever had tastes like the Family Reserve. As for the winery, it was the highlight of our Napa/Sonoma trips. I’ve never felt like a VIP the way we did at any other winery. They had only the four of us in for a tour and tasting, and the tasting fee was waived as a club member. We played fetch with their dog, who is amazing, and sat around the kitchen table drinking wine and chatting with Regina. We also got to meet Kirk who was gracious enough to stop working and join our tour briefly. He explained the science behind his wine and his passion, which is something we really appreciated. I cannot stress how intimate and amazing this tour was. It made our whole trip better. Regina and Kirk — you guys are great!

Venge delivers an exceptional tasting experience. High quality wines, a stunning property and knowledge staff. Our wine educator James was personable, funny and most importantly, possessed a wealth of information about wine. Enjoy a seated tasting on the beautiful patio, a walk through the production hanger, and perfect wines. Make a reservation well in advance and expect to spend 1.5 hours learning and sipping. Though the tasting fee is noted as $ 25 per person, which we would have gladly paid, it was waived with purchase.

AMAZING. Scouts Honor and the white wine was fantastic. Love the scenery and the intimate setting. Very open and nicely decorated with a fab view of the vineyards.

I love how this place has it’s own driveway leading up to the house which feels like you are going to someone’s home! The set up is so cozy with a fireplace, a nice sofa and only a few tables for tasting. Regina, our host was super nice and very knowledgeable about the individual stories behind each wine that the father/son team had started. My favorite red was the 2011 Family Reserve Cab… and the Bone Ash. Also, just a fun tip as you are coming up the driveway, there is a garage like building on the right but it is actually a gate to the property behind the winery. So creative…

This place will leave you speechless. Out of all the vineyards in Napa, this one is far from the«Disney» feel of most. Small and personable, they produce some of the greatest wines in the region paired with one of the greatest histories of California wine making. By appointment only; make sure you ask for James. If you have not signed up for a wine club or guild then you need to join this one; if you have, then cancel it and join this one. This is the place wine makers recommend for others to go visit; that is how I found it. Go here, enjoy amazing wine, and then take a walk thru downtown Calistoga; it will be a day to remember.

This is by appointment only, but it is certainly worth your time to organize a tasting. This is a small-scale deal. We sat on a deck overlooking a vineyard, a very pleasant setting. There was only one other group there at the same time. The pace was relaxed and casual. The fellow who poured for us took the time to answer all questions and we learned a lot. And the wine was best of all. We will be back!

Venge is a great little vineyard in Calistoga, it was recommended by my wife’s boss so we had to try it out. I would say they could possible have the best valued wine. The wine was ready to drink, and very affordable. My favorite is the«Scouts Honor» named after Kirk Venge’s passed golden retriever. This Zyn, syrah, petite sirah, and charbono is spicy fruit forward and silky smooth. We purchased a magnum for $ 65 and took it to Ad Hoc for dinner and it was fanfrickintastic!!! The tour is simple and to the point, and the highlight is most definitely the vino.

Upon a friend’s enthusiastic recommendation, I called for an appointment. I’d only ever had Kirk’s wines by B Cellars before, so was anxious to try Venge. It’s a beautiful facility and you can taste on the patio(perhaps play ball with Harley) and enjoy the view of the vineyards. Really wonderful wines and friendly staff. They let you taste at your own pace(beauty of an appt-only, smaller, lesser known place). Delicious wines. Highly recommended.

This is a small, family-owned vineyard. The wines are consistently excellent and the tasting room provides for an intimate experience: you have to have reservations. Their Scout’s Honor is awesome.

Hard to get an invite to try their wines and that is about the only way to purchase their wines. Very small production, and I mean VERY, but if you can get your hands on a bottle or two count yourself lucky. The Cabs are just about unbelievable. Zin is also very very good, and we were real lucky in that we were able to purchase. He last 4 bottles they had in the house!

Call for a reservation! Wonderful spot with terrific staff, and an intimate experience. Terrific wines! Hard to beat sitting on the porch, watching the sun set over the Mayacamas mountains, sipping some Venge Bone Ash or Family Reserve! The staff is extremely knowledgable and this is a great break from the average tasting room. Bonus is playing fetch with Harley, who handles two tennis balls at a time!

As some have mentioned, Venge Vineyards may be somewhat hard to find, but it’s worth every bit of trouble. Kirk Venge is producing some of the Napa Valley’s finest wines and a visit to his tasting room is a fabulous experience. You’ll taste exceptional wines and be treated like royalty.

I have to say that my visit to Venge was great. I visited by myself on 3⁄1 and tasted with Regina. She gave me a tour of their beautiful new facility and provided the history of Venge. I wanted to visit Venge after tasting a prior vintage of their Zin Blend Scout’s Honor. They have an exceptional lineup of reds. I bought one bottle of Cabernet and one bottle of Late Harvest Zin. I only was able to by a couple of bottles as that is all I had room left for in my suitcase. I will definitely be back. A beautiful facility and a great tour with Regina.

I have not tasted here but I need to say this: «we could NOT find this place!» We tried to locate this«secret» winery and ended up walking into 2 private homes! We finally found the phone number for these guys and drove to the place only to realize it was CLOSED and the actual house they were at on that day was at a different venue. Apparently it’s $ 25 per person to taste. We made reservations over the phone but could never find the place. If you do locate them, get their address and explicit directions on how to get there. This place is *secret* for a reason. BECAUSEIT’S IMPOSSIBLETOFIND!
