We are visiting the area and never having been here before, we were looking for a place to pick up some groceries. Great little grocery store. It had everything we were looking for and the produce looked very fresh. The prices were decent, maybe a little on the higher side. Overall we were very happy to shop here.

Nice local market with small but adequate selection of produce and meats. The walk in beer cooler was awesome and had a nice selection. Staff was warm and friendly.

When camping in Hankins, this is the closest grocery store in the area. More often than not, we would bring our produce from home in a cooler as well as staple items, but for items a little more touch and go in a cooler on a hot summer day we buy them at Peck’s. This isn’t a huge commercial supermarket, but they do have all the essentials necessary for creating basic meals. The employees are always pleasant and willing to help you find whatever you’re in search of. In general I love the rustic feel of the town of Callicoon, but small local stores like this are what America is missing out on these days.

Employee owned small chain grocery does a great job. All your typical grocery items are represented at fair prices. The meat selection is quite good, making up for the produce being just OK. Where they shine is when it comes to the wide variety of specialty items they carry. This place is NOT a specialty food shop, but the variety of beers, local dairy products(cheeses and yogurt), German cured meats and sausages and Italian(even some Greek) specialty items makes shopping here fun. Staff is friendly, even to obvious NYC vacationer types. If you need to stock up for a BBQ Peck’s easily has you covered. If you need a change of pace after a few days of BBQ you can poke around and find what you need for a change of pace here — it’s a well-stocked supermarket. If you don’t feel like cooking they have a good deli counter and offer prepared food and sandwiches for sale. They also rent DVD’s.
