I’ve been passing this farm for years and finally decided to stop and check it out. Came on a week day and great farm stand. They have rugged wagons to fill up with mums, pumpkins, etc … Also wooden pirate ships, wooden castle and wooden trucks for the kids to play on.

Came here with my family this past Sunday and we left covered in dust and dirt. I get it, apple picking and farms are going to be messy but I have been to several orchards and apple/pumpkin picking places and this one was the worst as far as concerning dirt everywhere. Walking from parking our car there we were engulfed in clouds of dust then walking to pick apples sooo dusty. Overall not a lot of apples left and very long line to get on hay wagon. We left and went to Harbes and had a much better time. Wouldn’t go back again.

Pumpkin picking in September yielded some fruitful results, the field was filled full of the holiday gourds. The deep orange color and thick density of the pumpkins assured me that their shelf live upon my stoop isn’t a concern. The price of fifty nine cents a pound was a concern as I knew I was reaching the hundred pound mark. That price caught me by surprise, the farm fresh corn was five dollars a dozen — –and you can eat it. The cakes and pies inside held labels from other establishments, even other states which had me questioning the produce. I didn’t see any peppers nor potato’s in the field. The young staffers worked fast assisting customers, the owner was upset — something about her peacock. But definitely a fun place for the family, some light prepared sandwiches would be an added bonus for all of us traveling from the city. Just a thought.

Loved that you could pick your own vegetables. I enjoyed that so much more than the pick your own apples. This was the last weekend for the pick your own vegetables and it showered. However we found lots of baby tomatoes and a decent amount of bell peppers, though mostly green. There was also no eggplant left, but there was also not a lot of eggplant bushes. Tons of different kinds of apple trees. $ 7 for a small bag to fill. You could also mix veggies and apples, or pay $ 1.50/lb for veggies. The walk is really short, almost embarrassing to take the tractor. We sampled some Apple Cider donuts. There wasn’t really any donut to it. It lacked fluff.(don’t know how else to put it.) The veggies in the market were pretty cheap! We got a bushel of string beans, 2 ears of corn, an onion, a cucumber, and celery, and a half gallon of apple cider for $ 10. Wish I didn’t live so far. I’d do all my produce shopping here. However I do prefer to eat organic whenever I can, but since this was farm fresh I went ahead and bought it all. Can’t wait for the spring, for pick your own berries! $ 10 minimum for credit cards in the shop.

Love Windy Acres Farms… the real deal… great for kids… reasonably priced… you will feel like you are on a farm in Kansas… not NY. Hay rides, corn maze, plenty of fun stuff for the kids to play on, petting zoo, roasted corn, etc… love Windy Acres!!! NO entrance fee and a good value for your dollar!

Great place to come with kids. Even adults. You can pick apples pick veggies(or just buy them in the little market they have, but honestly food tastes better when you pick it yourself) you can take a ride on the horse carriage with your kids you can play in the large grass field which has a playground spread out you can eat their DELICIOUS corn & cinnamon sugar donuts you can get your face painted if you are into that kind of thing you can pick out pumpkins you can frolick in the corn maze SO basically, there is a crap ton to do. And it wasn’t overly crowded. OH — I took off a star because the apples weren’t really that great. There were rows and rows of different kinds of apples but there was really only one or two rows that had the best. I’m honestly not picky with apples, I don’t get the people who are like«OMG, you like Mcintosh? Gala’s are SOO much better» but if you are a serious apple picker(I’m sure there are some in this world) you might be disappointed. But I did get a whole big bag of apples. Which kind you may ask? I have no freakin’ clue. Also be prepared to get attacked by a few bees. This obviously will happen out east in any location with food, including wineries, farmers markets, etc. So if you are deathly allergic, I would suggest you not come. Or wear a bee keeper suit

$ 17 for a ½ peck of apples and 2 jams — nice property and friendly enough staff, but none of the products impressed enough for a return given the other options.

I always go here to pick pumpkins in the fall! Very big place, lots of pumpkins to choose from. Big corn maze. A lot of things for children to enjoy too. They have roasted corn and other tasty treats, prices seem to be pretty average. Easy to find, usually just park on the street somewhere and walk over.

Very good indoor Farm Stand with lots of produce, local corn, potatoes, cukes and tomatoes. They also carry pies, jams/jellies/sauces, cherry juice(Yum!), North Fork potato chips. In season they sell pumpkins and apple cider. Very hard working family who runs the business. Open late compared to other farm stands. Play area with farm theme out back for small kids.

We missed a turn and in doing so saw their sign for pies. We decided to stop and take a look. and are so glad that we did! We purchased one of their sugar-free apple pies to have for dessert that evening. YUM! Even my husband, who does not like apple pies at all, was curious enough to take a slice and thought it was delicious. I spent the whole next day looking forward to having another slice for dessert again.

when you have kids in tow, a local pumpkin patch or farm is a must visit. this place is spacious with a few animals — turkey, pigs, ponies, & horses. they offer hay rides(not the day we came, it was their day off). also, there are many structures for adults & kids to play on — ships, cars, yacht(gotta start them on the hamptons idea young). their sweet corn was cooked perfectly & i didn’t mind sucking it out of my teeth. though without a doubt the best thing there are their pies. once you park, the smell of sweet, delicious pie is all around you. resist the urge, go have some fun & come back into the store & pick amongst apple, berry, pumpkin, rhubarb, etc. it was well worth it.
