Great service. My 30 + year old front door doorknob completely fell off. I called Buffum’s in the morning and they said they would be at my home between 1 and 2. They called me to let me know that they were on their way. They showed up on time. Scott arrived, immediately knew what kind of lock it was, worked his magic and fixed the problem. Polite, on time, super friendly. Good old fashion service. Highly recommend them.

I had a problem with my mailbox lock jamming. Called Buffum’s Safe and Lock and they gave me a one hour window in which the locksmith would come and repair or replace the lock. The locksmith never showed during the appointed time and when I called to ask about the «no show», whomever answered was very abrupt and extremely rude. There are two problems here. First of all, you should not give a one hour appointment window if you are unable to fulfill that mission. Secondly, you should call when you realize you will not be able to make a scheduled appointment. I really think the person who answers the phone at Buffum’s should be retrained in proper customer service. His attitude leaves much to be desired

I took a cabinet door in to have keys made, Zack Marx made the keys and I was not happy with the difficulty of opening the lock. I paid him $ 20.00 He gave me no receipt and told me to give it a try. When I got home the lock would not lock in the door closed position only in the door open position. I called and spoke to Zack. He told me it worked fine when it left his shop, basically called me a lair and told me to bring the door back and he would look at it. I asked if my $ 20.00 dollars was refundable and he began arguing with me, he then hung up on me.
Camarillo is a very small town and I will never let any employee at Buffums work on a lock at my residence I don’t trust them.
I do agree with the other reviewers which said the employees are extremely rude.
I can’t see a store with this kind of costumer service lasting in Camirillo long.

When my locks weren’t locking properly I knew there was only one company to call — Buffums.
Scott had successfully repaired an old lock before and this time he and Levi did another stellar job. They realigned my doors so that the locks line up properly and lock beautifully. Scott and Levi have great senses of humor, are very knowledgable and they even cleaned up.
If you need a trustworthy, professional locksmith call Buffums.

I live in Camarillo so for several years I’ve come in here to have keys cut for spares for my house, motorcycles, cars etc. As well as for general lock questions for not so normal locks. It’s a very nice family owned business, very knowledgable and very professional locksmiths. I’ve met Scott personally and he’s a stand up guy. I wouldn’t hesitate to come to them with questions or work needing to be done. They’re fair and honest and that’s hard to come by these days.

I can’t say enough good things about this family owned and operated local business. I got myself stuck in a bait and switch situation with the last locksmith I called from the valley. It started off with a cheap service call, thought I was getting a killer deal. Then the guy tries to up sell me on $ 300 worth of stuff I didn’t need. Turns out this is a common racket in the locksmith trade.
Let me tell you, Scott and his family are stand up people. They gave me a price over the phone for the service call and that’s what I paid. There were no sleazy up sells or hidden fees. Just a fair and reasonable price for a job well done. I trust my locks to Scott and Buffum’s!

I have always felt that Locksmiths were gougers when you were locked out of your house. Not this time!
Scott (the owners son) just left my home. He was on time and got us back in the house quickly.
Scott really knows his stuff.
He had to drive from Simi where he lives, to Camarillo to get the company truck, than back to my place at 11:30 at night… Wow.
He was here for about an hour and a half. He charged only what he quoted on the phone. It was so reasonable I had to give him a $ 20.00 tip.
I would and will recommend Buffums as often as I can.
You won’t be sorry.

My daughter locked herself out of garage and the remote control was in the garage. (details of how that happened are another story) She called Buffum’s that night, he came out first thing in the morning and installed a new tubular lock. He was very professional and charged her a fair price.
His web site has a link of a story NBC did on shady locksmiths. Kudos to you for putting that on your site. Thank you from a parent who highly recommends you.

Purchased a safe from Buffum’s. Owner spent time with me answering all my questions about safes and did not get irritated when I decided to wait. After doing internet research and checking deals at the big box stores, decided Buffum’s was the best deal for me. Returned a few weeks later and made the purchase. Very professional. Came to my house and installed it. Recommend.
