The donuts taste like oil. Fryer oil that has gone bad. My kids won’t even eat them:(

Blech. I’m just not getting all this love for Kim’s. I stopped by here with the kiddos because the line for Rolling Pin was ridiculous. Yeah, ummm, no. We got a glazed with sprinkles & a cake doughnut with berry icing. The glazed doughnut was seeping through the bag before we got home, 2 minutes away. I took it out of the bag & it felt leaden. I tore into it to make sure it was cooked completely, & it was literally soaked with grease! Usually, this is an indicator of overproofing & perhaps oil that wasn’t up to temp. It also tasted of very stale oil. I checked the cake doughnut & it too was greasy to the very core. I threw both in the trash & had to explain to a couple of very sad littles that they wouldn’t be able to have the doughnut they were promised.

This place is fantastic anything bar shaped is phenomenal. Maple bar and sugar twists are ridiculous. Better than rolling pin in my opinion.

YUMMY! I don’t understand why this place doesn’t have more reviews, but yet donuts can do a lot to a person! I haven’t been able to go to this place as much as I wish, but when I do I always get glaze, simple and fanstastic!

Seriously great donuts. I’ve eaten many a donut as a fervid donut aficionado(my girlfriend actually tells me I gotta chill on the donut consumption), and most places are – let’s be honest – mediocre. They’ll either scrimp on the glazing or make donuts that lack the right chewy and crispy consistency. This place does it right. Everything I had was superb.

I’ve had donuts from rolling pin and queens but these top the cake. I think I didn’t even pay $ 10 for over a dozen and thats crazy! Their selection was great, service was fast and the selection was awesome! Sad that I found it right before I move or else this would be my regular donut spot!

I love this place. Walk-in, order, the In’s are nice people and they get you in and out quickly with a big box of perfect donuts. We’ve been going to Kim’s for years and it is our go to place for donuts in Camarillo.

I’m surprised this place hasn’t been reviewed before, since back when I dropped in they seemed to have a pretty loyal clientele which was there in surprisingly high numbers for how late in the morning it was. I didn’t get it when I first came in. It’s a pretty small place with a case of bottled and canned drinks in the corner away from the door, and the donuts don’t look like much because they’re not fancy. In fact, sometimes they have a real small-town quality like how instead of filling the donuts, a circular raised donut is slashed down the middle horizontally and the fruit filling is spread thick inside like a paste. Then I tasted the donuts and… well done, Kim. The glaze is wonderful, crackly, and a little bit messy. The dough for the raised donuts is crisp, sweet, and well created in general, although none of the components have a quality you haven’t seen before. The woman who runs this(I presume Kim) is nice, too, so it’s generally a winner except that it’s not open late.
