The bento boxes last night were meh. The sesame chicken my mom ordered was like breaded fried chicken which isn’t what we imagined for sesame chicken. The OMG roll and my teriyaki chicken bento box were okay but it didn’t seemed outstanding. The miso soup was the best thing along with the simple cut spicy tuna roll. I’ve been here a couple times with my friend Kathie to eat sushi rolls for dinner here and it’s been fine then but maybe it were the bento boxes that left us feeling completely full but just unsatisfied in the taste of the food. Will give it another shot!

This is our second time here(we live in Chicago) and both times we found the food to be good, filling and the wait staff attentive. I think this place is a chain, but regardless of the fact, I’d come back here if we come back to Santa Barbara.

Went out for a pre Valentine’s Day dinner and chose sushi. Food was amazing! Highly recommend the Shogun Roll. Currently my favorite but the service was awful. Didn’t even know my waitresses name and was helped by everyone but her. Good took a little while but overall, I had a good time. They just need better servers.

Food is very good. I have stopped by twice since I live far. The service has always been very bad. We were sat down at a table for two. About five minutes later another couple with two kids was sat directly next to us. The waitress went straight to them and took the order for their drinks. A few minutes later she returned with their drinks and began to take their order. Then she left and brought them their food. We were still waiting to order our drinks!!! It wasn’t until I called her attention and asked her we still needed to order our drinks. Food is good but service very slow.

Great go to place for sushi. Always fresh and lots of specialty rolls. I feel like family when we are there and the service is great!

First time coming to Sushi Planet Camarillo and unfortunately the service was not too good. We were 4 in our table and 3 of them got their sushi and I had to wait 15 minutes for my food. The food arrived when they were already finished. Then we ordered the second round and was the same thing. Then we asked for more ginger and the waitress said that they were cleaning the kitchen and she will see if they still have more. They were 3 other tables so we were not the only ones in there but it seems they were in a hurry to clean the place and go home. We always go to the Sushi Planet in Moorpark and what a difference with the service. I just give then 3 stars because the food was good. I can not imagine the service in here when they have full house.

Cool place, I was driving in the area and Unilocaled for a sushi place closed to me. Successful results. The truffle albacore sashimi was delicious. Their crispy rice tuna is not bad at all. Big portions. If I will be in the area again, will be back for sure!

Sushi Planet is great! I was a frequent visitor back in the day when I was dating my ex who lived in Camarillo at the time. As a sushi addict, this place had great prices and great, consistent quality foods. I came here for the first time in about 2 almost 3 years, with some girlfriends and I experienced the same type of quality! Between the 3 of us we got: 1)The Tropican Roll 2)Baked Salmon Roll 3)California Rolls 4)Home Run Roll(my absolute favorite! TODIEFOR!) 5)Crab Sushi Everything was spectacular. Our waitress was on it, and kind! Only downfall is that they have very packed seating. We sat next to a very rude couple who kept turning over and looking at us while we were talking because of the fact that our tables were less than a foot away from each other. I would gladly return!

I thought they have very good sushi options with a creative twist. The plating is colorful with decent size portion at an excellent price! Try the shimp wrapped in bacon for an appetizer! I could eat those all night. The staff are friendly and the sushi bar is a nice spot to catch a game with a cold one. Spicy Tuna Crunch roll is the bomb!!! One of the more interesting things on the menu is the Spanish Mackerel Sashimi. I love their location in Old Town Camarillo after eating can take a stroll down Ventura Boulevard.

We are visiting and on vacation we stayed directly across from this restaurant it was very convenient. The restaurant had a big banner happy hour ends at 7 pm we walked in at 7 pm and we were asked were we would like to be seated, we choose the sushi bar. The hostess asked us for a drink order and I asked her if they would still honor happy hour and she said no very rudely. I made her aware it was 2 minutes after 7 pm and she said no too late. I wanted to walk out. My family convinced me to stay. The food was Medicore… Good luck if you come here.

First, extremely pricey! $ 52 for two people, no alcohol and only four rolls. The goyza appetizer tasted like it was frozen and heated up in a microwave. Very expensive, crappy service. When they put our food down, they did not announce what it was. I am allergic to shrimp and my daughter ordered some food w/shrimp. Expected at least to be told what each dish was. They forgot our wasabi and ginger. When I requested it, they brought one set — there were two of us, so I had to request it again. Kind of shocked at the price. Will not be returning.

Everything I have had here has been fairly good. Their menu strongly encourages ROLLS — they have a lot of cooked rolls and more Americanized Japanese sushi combinations, but overall, not too bad. Flavors are good and refreshing. The one problem I have is that their rolls are pretty small. Thinly sliced and it’s tough to get full off of just one, sometimes two rolls. Prices are also slightly higher than I would think they should be. I do like their Four Seasons rolls which does not have rice. Strong aromas topped w slices of jalapeño — will help satisfy a sushi craving! Location in Old Town Camarillo is good though with its own small parking area and neighboring street parking.

My new sushi place in Camarillo! I have only tried 2 items in their menu so far and I’m very pleased. Albacore Truffle and Four Season. I am soooo coming back to try other stuff but I will always order the Albacore Truffle! Ambience is very nice. It’s cozy. Has a welcoming vibe to it. No complaints on the service. It’s my 1st time here and can’t wait to come back to try out more.

I was expecting an ok but completely wowed by the food quality and stellar service. This was right across Bella Capri Inn which was great after nice walk through old town. I especially liked the spicy tuna w crispy rice or I dare say mini-onigiri. also had a very nice roll and jalapeño yellowtail. The hostess was the sweetest; that goes for the staff too. They worked harmoniously and looked out for each other to serve the customers. I got my order so fast that at first worried it was pre-made. Not at all; kudos to the sushi chefs. I used zero soy sauce which is one of my benchmark for good sushi.

Slow service. Salmon in the hand roll had FISHBONES in it! And, at the end of the meal, we were double charged for a yellow tail sushi. They gave us 50% off the one salmon hand roll… but I feel that didn’t really make up for the bones. This is one sushi restaurant we will definitely NEVER go to again. The art of sushi is to cut the fish without taking the FISHBONES with the meat. Awful.

After hitting up the outlet mall we decided to have some sushi at sushi planet! I decided to order the bento with mixed tempura and spicy crab roll. It was served starting out with a light but nice miso soup. Not too salty and little pieces of tofu were the usual butnice complimentary touch! Onto the bento which was huge! It had six pieces of spicy crab with a good assortment of tempura, a nice light ponzu flavoured dressing a dollop of white rice. Too much food honestly for me to eat! I left the rice and ate the rest! Spicy crab was creamy with mayo but had a decent kick to it. The salad was light and zesty! The tempura was crisp and good flavour. I ask myself, was this the best bento I’ve had in my life? I’d rate it a decent 7⁄10! Service was attentive and respectful!
