Always great food. The chile verde burrito is the bomb! Tucked away but worth the trip. Don’t be put off by its location, come for the food

YES its a «Hole in the wall» YES its a small parking lot and not the most convenient location BUT folks — this place has best Mexican food in Camarillo — we go here about 1 – 2 times a week, usually just pick up food on the way home from work — and its always good, always fast, and great price! - the pastor tacos are really good –get 3 of them and a bean and cheese burrito and you are set — service has always been friendly

One of the great hidden gems in Camarillo. They have great tacos and burritos, as well as delicious shrimp cocktail. Whenever I’m working in the area I always stop by on my lunch for a quick bite. I love the atmosphere in the restaurant it almost makes me feel like I’m back in Mexico.

This review is only for the menudo only. The broth was watery and tasteless. The meat was rubbery/chewy. The meat was the smoother cut, not honey comb tripe or the softer type of meat. I did not finish the entire bowl(a rarity for me). I have made a personal note to myself this the last resort for menudo. $ 6.98 as of 01/16/2016.

USUALLY, we place a phone order and they ask us ‘how long will you be?’ … It can be 5 minutes and they will have it ready but normally we’re about 15 minutes away. Place your call and start driving. By the time you get there, it’s ready — you pay, you leave. Simple. Having eaten here a couple of times though, nothing much changes. It’s still great! The only downside is there is no childs menu but try the Asada burrito, the Chili Verde is always very good or the Super Nachos(huge). For kids, the Quesadillas are great, add chicken for a small fee.

Wow… This is definitely one of the best authentic Hispanic cafes I have ever been too. I had the lengua soft tacos. Normally I am not one to get this meal, but it sure did not disgruntle, I was delighted as soon as I started chowing down on this splendid dish.

I came in on Sunday at 9:30 because it says the hours are until 10. They close at 9 pm. I’ll give it a try another time but that’s annoying. I drove from Ventura to find out it was already closed.

This place is a little hidden gem if you’re in the mood for a quick bite to eat. I enjoyed one Carnitas one Carne Asada and one chicken taco. The value was great the whole combination of the three came to four dollars. The salsa bar on the chopped up carrots were excellent. The only complaint is that they need to control the amount of flies coming in the door and get some fans to keep them away.

Incredible prices($ 3.50 for a vegetarian burrito), and their veg burrito is *actually* vegetarian(rice not cooked in chicken, beans not cooked in lard)! Rather good burrito, all in all. Only downside is that it was rather soggy.

Amazing! We drive out from Santa Monica just to grab some delicious carnitas and carne asada soft tacos. Great, authentic, mouth watering food for cheap prices and nice friendly staff. A must visit if in the area.

Looking for a quick bite in the morning before hopping on the train in Camarillo? Look no further. Thank you to my Unilocalers for helping me find this gem. I’m a connoisseur of breakfast burritos. Chorizo breakfast burrito with potatoes, rice, cilantro, special sauce. UNREAL. So delicious. Easily in the top 3 breakfast burritos I’ve ever eaten… EVER. Que sabroso! Huge portion… you will leave well satisfied. Price: $ 4.25 + tax. Incredible value. GREAT little salsa bar with pickled carrots, pico de gallo, and great salsa. Complimentary chips. I’ll come here over and over and over again if I’m in Camarillo for breakfast. Great joint.

Been eating here for years and love it. Great authentic flavors. Taco Tuesday is the best in town. The Super burrito is always delicious. My girl loves the Mojarra fish plate. Also they have awesome breakfast burritos! Keep up the great work!

Maybe we came on an off night, but nothing really seemed to jive at this place. While ordering at the counter, the guy just wasn’t all that friendly or welcoming. I ordered the enchiladas plate with carnitas. The carnitas seemed old and stale. When they reaheated them for the enchiladas it probably made them worse. The chicken on my wifes chicken nachos was barely lukewarm, bordering cold. Overall, nothing screamed out to try this place again — so we probably won’t.

I came here because my usual place closed at 9, and I figured with 4 stars it’d be pretty comparable. My reaction: meh. I wish I had waited until tomorrow to get my Mexican food fix and gone to my usual spot. I ordered the asada super nachos. They were just OK. The employees were friendly, and the food came out quickly for to-go(granted, I was the only one there). But I just wasn’t really impressed. I’m not even sure what it was about it that put me off. I want to say a combination of the flimsy chips, the meat was just OK, and maybe that they had no guacamole. I’d expect guacamole if I’m paying almost 8 dollars for nachos. I ate half of it and tossed it. I probably won’t be back.

First time here and I had the menudo. The price was $ 6.22. I ordered it without the pata(pig feet). It is made with two different types of tripe. The soup could of used more hominy but then I prefer a lot of hominy in my menudo. The tripe was cut into small enough pieces which made it easy to eat. The tripe was not fatty at all. The soup was very tasty, had lots of flavor. I added cilantro, onion, lemon and oregano and enjoyed with warm corn tortillas. I ordered it to go and the container was enough for two bowls so I shared with my son and he liked it. Which is good because he has only had mine and grandmas homemade. This menudo is close to homemade. Small restaurant next to the donut queen. The girl at the register was very nice and friendly. I will be back for menudo again sometime. By the way this soup is a cure all for hangovers.
