Have not been in a long while but by far has always been and will always be my favorite restaurant. I basically order the exact same thing every time. This is my birthday dinner pick every year. The carpaccio(hope I spelled it correctly) is the most incredible thing I have ever eaten in my life. Anytime someone asks my favorite food this is my go to answer from this restaurant specifically. I always get a filet, just depends on which one. All are fabulous. My parents have always gone here as well. Gerry is always so kind to my family.(I normally stay quiet while they all talk) and dessert is just as fabulous, I always get the crème brule. Basically I’m saying you can’t go wrong here also please get the carpaccio. That is all.

The free bread was probably the most amazing thing at the restaurant! The bread was crisp the olive oil sauce was to die for. Overall I do not think that the money we payed for our meal was equivalent to the food we were served. I ordered chicken piccata with veggies, and pasta. I kid you not I received one carrot and one broccoli stem. Was not to thrilled but feel like service could have been better if there was more than just one waiter present.

Went for the Valentine’s special. The food was great(dessert not so great) but the service was terrible.

The ambience was great and the food tasted good. However our waiter was rude and unhelpful. I asked him about the wine and he totally BSed the answer and then brought me the wrong wine. My husband got the scallop special. It was $ 30 and literally had 3 scallops and maybe a quarter cup of pasta. I got the shrimp scampi. It was 4 shrimp and literally two bites of pasta. I would have preferred to pay more and get food. Overall it was pretty disappointing. We won’t be back.

The food is excellent. The service was slow because they had but one server for the entire room. And the place is loud. There were three of us and we couldn’t hear each other when speaking normally. That’s why we were surprised that all of us had order the Mezza Luna ravioli. We all agreed that it was a most excellent dish. Desert, which none of us should have had, was equally good. Probably worth the calories.

The atmosphere at the place is great. Went here for a romantic dinner and it did not disappoint. Old world interior with real candles, swanky music etc. The food was ok but pretty pricey tbh. Save for that special date.

This is a corner gem in downtown Camarillo! Gerry is always there with a warm welcome and treats all of his customers like family! The décor is both posh and rustic and so cozy! But to add to that the food a is so fresh and amazing, from the house made olive tepanade to their gourmet specials all made from scratch! Also, they have a great wine list and great prices!

Lovely surprise. Walked in without reservations and was seated promptly. Casual friendly service, great ambiance and lovely menu. Try the gnocchi with the vodka cream sauce. The food is the star. Very flavorful.

The atmosphere was cozy. I had a great seat behind the table on a comfortable couch. The olive spread was very good! I ordered one of their specials: grilled salmon covered with a pesto spread over angel hair pasta, and with steamed vegetables. My meal was delicious! Finally, our waitress was attentive and even conversed with us a little. Overall, pretty good!

After a great show at Sessions at the Loft, we wandered over to this restaurant for a nice Sunday Italian Dinner. The atmosphere is cozy, the music is Latin, and the food is pricey. $ 16.00 gets you a decent portion of pesto linguine that is heavy on the cream. I prefer my pesto with a bit more garlic, but I won’t hold it against them. The waitress was friendly and chatty, though a bit unprofessional in her gossip of other customers. The seating is super comfy, and the wall-side of the tables get to sit on a couch!

I really enjoyed Verona Trattoria… I forgot just how romantic and a wonderful dining experience that it was in old town Camarillo. I remember eating here a number of years ago bad date but a really good restaurant. 4.5 Stars Verona rocks. I made it back in this weekend as I found myself meeting up with a friend in Camarillo. The food, the setting, the vibe everything just so good. The garlic bread and tapenade spread are addicting. Go ahead soak those bad boys in olive oil with a little balsamic for good measure you only live once lol The homemade burrata for the caprese salad was just silky smooth with a light balsamic drizzle. The linguine vongole with meaty clams in a wonderful rich garlic broth yeah yeah I know dip the garlic bread in the broth I’m already there with you… The Rib Eye in the peppercorn sauce was rich, savory and devine. Dessert was good not great. Tiramisu and a tartufo concoction. The ambiance and setting are truly great and the perfect date spot or romantic setting. Service was good, attentive and welcoming. Verona Trattoria is a great dining spot with a wonderful romantic location, setting and vibe conducive to memorable dining experience.

So obviously I eat out along by myself quite often and I wanted to head to Camarillo to do a bit of outlet shopping and catch a movie later on so I stopped by this really cute trattoria owned by this Mexican guy who is quite special. He is so sweet! He first oohed and awed at me, and probably felt sorry that I was dining alone but it’s no big deal I do it everyday. Verona Trattoria has a super cute outside eating area and a bustling inside. The owner is so kind he told me he stared off washing dishes then moved into the kitchen now he owns two Italian restaurants. This place is a delight. The garlic bread is classic garlic bread with a side dollop of a garlic mixture that you can spread on top. The vibe is so relaxing even while sitting outside near a bustling street. I enjoyed this restaurant even by myself and I would come back anytime! I ordered a rigatoni pasta dish the waitress recommended and it was perfect, slightly al dente pasta with an olive oil kick. Thank you to the owner! He sat down with me to keep me company too, so sweet!

Good Grief! Can this place get any better??? Everything at Verona’s Trattorias is on point. Gerardo, who has been our server each time, is SO professional, informative, and helpful. Every wine suggestion has been fabulous, and every food suggestions has been a success. Their pasta(veg and non veg for the boyfriend) is always authentic Italian and made with the freshest ingredients. MYNEWOBSESSION: Their artichoke appetizers. Ummm. Literally is the heart of the artichoke covered with the most amazing broth and melts in your mouth good. I cant stop thinking about it!

This place cracks me up. After sitting down and assessing my surroundings, I noticed garlic tucked into the crevice between the beans and ceiling — is this some type of Italian subliminal messaging? Once I ordered I was wonderfully surprised! The chef is an artist. I think his or her calling was for pastry as the presentation was very dessert like, but the taste was sublime.

Made reservations in January for Valentines evening. Great staff, great food, owner walked around and made sure all was okay. But they set out a Valentines menu, steak was $ 39, bottle of wine $ 30-$ 60. Customer next to us was a local, said this is not the regular menu, they made her something from the regular menu. This is about Love not the money!

Recently had lunch here with m co-workers, and I was so shocked i had not known about this place before. Overall the place is very quaint and very cute. Their lunch special is very price-friendly, and I would definitely come here again. The bread and the spread you put was amazing! You have to be careful not to eat to much because you will get full. I had something off their special of the day with shrimp and chicken pasta with some red sauce, I was not disappointed at all. At the end of my work lunch, we all had a cannoli, which was the perfect dessert to some delicious pasta. I am excited to come back again and check out their dinner menu on my next visit.

Back home for the holidays! Hello Camarillo! I’ve passed this place several times while getting on the freeway and finally had the chance to try it last night with my family for my little sister’s birthday dinner. First, ambience. This restaurant is so dark! The restaurant started off dimly lit and it seemed as if they dimmed the lights some more as soon as we got in. I mean I get that it is an italian place and it’s supposed to be romantic but even my freshly lasik’d eyes were having trouble. It was amusing watching my very chinese parents who are accustomed to eating in fluorescent dining halls put up there smartphone flashlights to read the menu and look at the food. Otherwise cozy, rustic feel and plenty of self-parking in a lot right next to the restaurant. Second, and most important, food. Overall, I’d give the food three stars. Complimentary garlic bread with olive spread: This was really good. The olive spread they provide is tasty, I had to stop myself from eating the entire basket on my own. Bruschetta: Bruschetta was awesome as well, the flat bread was fresh and soft and the chopped tomato mix was super tasty. Some of the best bruschetta I’ve had. Insalata di Pera: This pear salad was served on a large cutting board. Flavors were good but overdressed. Gnocchi Bolognese: I had read other reviews saying that the gnocchi was awesome. So it really surprised me as this is some of the worst gnocchi I’ve ever had. It was super dense and hard. I think it was undercooked in the middle but it was hard to tell because it was so dark in the restaurant. Instead of soft pillows, it was like eating globs of day old play-doh. Bolognese sauce was overly sweet and tasted almost canned, though I don’t doubt that they make it in house. Linguini with Clams and Mussels– Before the food came out, the waiter notified us that the chef noticed the mussels were frozen and not fresh so he decided not to use them. He didn’t mention putting more clams into the dish because of this, just simply that there were to be no mussels which I found odd. You’re a restaurant, you should have what’s on the menu unless you run out which was definitely not the case on this sleepy Sunday night. When this dish came out, it looked like a bowl of phở. Not even joking, my sister took a flash picture of it and if you didn’t tell me what it was I would have guessed phở or a noodle soup. It came in a large bowl and there was so much soupy sauce! Flavor was mediocre, under seasoned and kind of fishy. I can only imagine that the clams probably weren’t fresh either. Linguini with Eggplant Caponata: This sauce was tasty. Super garlicky and delicious. I would recommend this. Service was good, polite and perfectly attentive yet distant. Overall the meal was ok. Considering how much we payed($ 110 for a salad, bruschetta, 3 pasta dishes, and one glass of wine) I’d much rather spend my money somewhere else. Would not recommend Verona, I’ve had better(and cheaper) pasta at Presto Pasta.

Randomly drove through downtown Camarillo for dinner. After Unilocal’ing for restaurants in the area– the other half saw a really cute building that read«steaks, seafood and pasta», plus we also saw lamp heaters on the outside patio seating area that caught our attention. The exterior alone, is what drew us in! Our hostess was very nice– she actually ended up being our server. Went over the specials very thoroughly. They offer complimentary fresh made garlic bread with a FRESHHOMEMADE garlic/olive spread… to die for! That combination alone is one of the things that will bring us back. Our food was delicious and out by a timely manner. I ordered the Pollo Piccata and the other half ordered the Ribeye. Overall, the food was worth the price. Good portioned and cooked to desire. The«check-in» special was a yummy cappuccino. To top off dinner we ordered the Strawberry Crêpe, which was cooked right at our table– great entertainment! Shout out to Gerardo– best crêpe maker! ;P We had a great first timer experience and will definitely be back && tell everyone about this wonderful restaurant ! Cheers* –C
