Camas Hotel

Clean updated rooms in the center of town. Rooms are a bit on the smaller size but that is to be expected from a historical boutique hotel. The air conditioners could use a filter change. It was perfectly located for us as we wanted to avoid the madness of downtown Portland but still be close enough to visit. One of our beds had a very big worn out dent, and after complaining about it, the hotel promptly replaced it with a new mattress (we were very impressed). The continental breakfast was one of the best continental I’ve had, serving fresh berries, granola, yogurt, bagels, toast, bagels, coffee cakes, coffee, orange juice, and quiche. An overall good value for the price.

To put it simply, this place is a glorified hostel. Price is cheap so… maybe you get what you pay for? Lots of very unpleasant threatening signs everywhere. «Don’t leave your towel in the shower or we will charge extra expenses to your room» «Don’t leave food in the kitchen. The kitchen is a PRIVILEGE to use and I will close it down if this keeps happening» …and stuff like that. Makes me feel like I’m in passive-​aggressive grandmas house.
Windows are like PAPER for sound proofing. Good luck having a restful night here. Receptionist taking my reservation was not honest about that at all. The bed felt like bricks and mortar and the sheets are super cheap. Like I said, glorified hostel.
But Portland hotels are expensive nowadays and this was $ 69/​night. So maybe it’s worth it? You decide.

My fella and I stayed at the Camas Hotel on our brief trip to the Portland area and will now be returning here for our future visits as well! Nestled in the charming downtown district of Camas, this B&B style inn is cozy, reasonably priced, and perfect for either a romantic getaway or a casual business trip. There are both economy and luxury rooms available; we chose the latter which was still under $ 100!
Upon checking in, the extremely friendly front desk staff upgraded our room for no extra charge just to be cool since they weren’t at capacity. The building is well-​maintained and beautifully decorated despite the antiquity of the structure. Everything was exactly as it was represented on the website and even better in person, including the smörgåsbord of a continental breakfast in the morning. The room even included wine glasses, a variety of Keurig options, plushy robes, and some room packages even include movie tickets to the theater down the street, although we didn’t have time to partake.
In summary, this place is absolutely worth your time if you’re staying in the area. Definitely choose the luxury room if you’re expecting an outstanding stay or adjust your expectations to be commensurate with the price you pay, as rational consumers should with every purchase of a good or service ;)
P. S. There was mention in an earlier review of someone’s description of the hotel as a European brothel. Although my experience of Europe didn’t include a brothel stop, I can still confidently attest that the ambience and class of the Camas Hotel far outweighs any representations I’ve seen of such an establishment!

Even under the cloak of night, the charm of downtown Camas was strongly apparent. This hotel, fortunately, is nestled in the midst of a multitude of small shops and bars. That is to say, the convenience factor is very high. Once you cross the threshold into the hotel itself, it’s pretty clear that this building has been around for a while. It has this early 20^th century vibe that just screams murder. I half expected Kathy Bates or even Norman Bates to jump out at me. Unfortunately, the staff happened to be worse than either of those two, but that’s neither here nor there. The service is, of course, nowhere near as important as the location and the charm of the décor. I definitely recommend it.

We love it here! My husband and I love taking little trips to Portland and this is such a cute, quiet place to stay. They have adorable accommodations. We usually stay in the rooms that have detached bathrooms and it is always clean. especially sharing with other rooms. This is our favorite little get away place!

Ok, stayed here on the hottest day of the year, but LOVED THIS HOTEL. What a nice place, great rooms and wonderful staff. Price was right in the budget, quick to reach Fort Vancouver and Portland. I will stay here again if I ever need a room in that region. Shared bath, but really not an issue… classic charm and nice rooms.

Loved it. Reminded me of Europe. Classy and clean rooms. The staf was helpful and happy. Nice location too.
If ever in the area again, we will be staying here.

Checked in late past lobby hours after arriving on a red eye from California.
The front desk staff was nice enough to leave a note and key at the front desk.
The room was as listed — bathroom detached and breakfast not included. I think since I checked in late I wasn’t given a towel set. So for warning if you come late bring your own set of towels.
I would describe as European brothel style— nice addition. Ultimately not my cup of tea but it served its purpose. Wouldn’t go back.

My husband and I needed to get away from the city to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. The Camas hotel was the perfect accommodation! The rooms are small but cozy and clean. The staff were all very nice and made the check in/​check out process very easy. It helps that we made reservations through them instead of a third party company. The breakfast was pretty good but nothing extravagant. We will stay here again for sure!

We stayed at the Camas Hotel for 1 night and what a charming hotel. The rooms are small but furnished well and very clean. The hotel staff are great too. Lots of nice restaurants only 1 – 2 blocks away. A short drive to Lacamas Lake. Reasonable rates and dog friendly too.

Funky Euro feel to this hotel. I stayed on the 2^nd floor in a room with a queen bed and detached bathroom shared with 10 other rooms. Room was very reasonably priced, fairly clean and quite comfortable with single serve coffee maker, fridge, TV, small desk, vanity sink and blow dryer. View looking out over the street. Charming. Sharing the bathroom (very clean) was not a problem even though nearly all the other rooms were occupied. A few places to eat, drink, shop in this funky part of Camus. Shared kitchen allowed me to warm up my leftover dinner as breakfast!

This place is awesome! My wife and I stayed for a week in the cheaper rooms with detached bathroom. It was the first time I stayed at a hotel with a detached bathroom. The bathrooms were extremely clean and the shower space large. It wasn’t a inconvenience even in the slightest. Laundry room and kitchen available which both were nice. This place has everything you want. The wifi has been the fastest I have ever had in a hotel. The rooms were so clean I could eat off the floor space under the bed. I would highly recommend this place. Great spot to stay when visiting portland or other surrounding areas.

Amazing and quaint historic hotel! I love this place! We just had our second stay here last night and I have to say that I could not have asked for better! The woman at the desk (I wish I would have asked for her name) was very welcoming and went above and beyond our expectations. There is no elevator (which was fine since it keeps the historic and quaint value in tact in my opinion), so she kindly helped us with our bags upstairs. We also were checking out before breakfast due to competing in a local road race, and again, she was kind enough to bring us breakfast plates up to our room to store in the refrigerator the night before piled with fruit, mini pastries, yogurt, etc. Oh, and did I mention free WiFI? Big chains like Westin and Hilton need to take note of these amazing little boutique hotels and study how to get it right!

Place is very small, European, NYC small rooms. They are clean. You get free movie tickets, which is nice, since there is nothing much to do out there. The breakfast was free if you get a room with a bathroom, it was normal muffins and quiche. The one weird thing, is that it was hostel like on the 2^nd floor. For people who don’t want to pay more they can rent a tiny little room with a shared hall bathroom. We walked passed it and the people were creepy and making dinner in the communal kitchen, it was kind of scary actually. They just stared and watched us go to our room. (so we double locked up). It has no elevator, so you have to drag your bags up 2 flights of stairs. Front desk was nice and informative. Parking is free on the street between 6p,-9am. and free 2 hour parking so essentially, you can park after six and check out at 11 and be good.

Experience European hotel style in US.

Very pleasantly surprised by the Camas Hotel. Looking for a quick get away, I found this boutique hotel online through a bed and breakfast site. I was so excited that I booked through the third party site instead of directly through the hotel. For those who don’t know, it’s better to book directly through the hotel for many reasons I won’t go into.
Charming is the best way to describe this hotel. I stayed in room 27, it was small but had everything I needed. The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in in quite some time. Very nice décor and color scheme. This room has a bathroom and shower. If that’s important to you, make sure you book a room with these amenities, otherwise, you’ll have to use the shared bathroom spaces which aren’t too bad anyway.
There is complementary breakfast in the mornings. The «sunroom» or enclosed deck, not sure what to call it, where breakfast is served, was cute and quaint.
There are lots of little fun shops right down here too, as well as a movie theatre (you can get tickets at the hotel). So for the price I paid for the room, the value was awesome. The owners are super nice and everyone I came into contact with was friendly.
I’d stay here again.

This place is way nicer than it needs to be at this price. We stayed in room 27 and it was perfect, quiet and incredibly cheap.
Breakfast was excellent, they gave us free movie tickets and everyone in the hotel was incredibly friendly — including the guests.
We’ll definitely be back if we find ourselves in the area.

Loved this hotel. Everything was perfect. From the service, to the linens to the perfect little pieces to make my stay a pleasure. I really liked how they had a water funnel I could use for the iron, they had teas and coffee in the hotel room. Linens were fluffy fresh and clean and so comfortable to sleep in.
Lots of neat shops and things to explore nearby.
Breakfast was sooo nice, cheese, fruits, coffee and Quiche!!! On a nice little nook/​balcony type thing. AWESOME. :)

Perfect end to a perfect day.
The Camas Hotel was home for the night for our out of town wedding guests. I think it in total we had 6 – 7 of the room with about 20 people (including kids) staying. Everyone had a good night’s sleep.
Karen treats everyone as if they are guests in her house and the pride in ownership shines!
